ClearType

Post by Matt Gregory »

If you have an LCD monitor and you use Windows XP you should make sure you have ClearType turned on because it softens the edges of text and makes it easier on the eyes. Here's a link:

Hi Matt,

I visited this page using Firefox 2.0, I already have cleartype enabled, however when I check the box and then click next a warning pops up telling me to turn it on before I proceed. Any suggestions? When I tried it again with IE, IE just crashed.

Right click on your desktop, and then choose Properties / Appearance / Effects / Choose the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts: ClearType.

Good call, Kelly. I wasn't aware of that.

Bryan, I had to use IE for the ClearType Tuner, but it worked okay for me.
