Yes, but one becomes aware of imperfections of members who have posted repeatedly, and how they are incapable of changing over a long period of time. So realizing that they can only go so far is actually an accurate assessment based on repeated experience. And one cannot know for certain whether or not the listeners are genetically apt for being wise, so it's better to overestimate people rather than underestimate them. A good example of destructive underestimation is making sweeping generalizations about the inability of black males to achieve enlightenment due to their genetics. It is really quite unnecessary to come to these conclusions.
However, I agree that one can keep challenging people by poking and prodding them. It can never hurt I suppose…but you’d be surprised how much stays the same over the years…Even though people can change, each one still has a fixed number of imperfections that appear to remain entangled in the personality, as biological pitfalls.
And regarding my statement about the black race, I have acknowledged that blacks can do quite well in western society, as there are increasing numbers of black intellectuals, which is a good sign. However, what is alarming is the lack of enlightened bodies of philosophical work produced by the group. That’s not to say that’s its absolutely impossible forever, but something seems to be lacking in the present. I still maintain that this is an accurate assessment, and not racist. It is based on empirical evidence.
