Accepting existence instead of "oh my life is so horrible". Accepting what is.

What is being accepted?

Life and its emptiness. I'm confused as to how you can't see the difference, someone in denial or rejection would be leaning closer to suicide or saying "I hate life" bla bla bla

You can't accept something without understanding it. Once you understand it, acceptance becomes meaningless. There's nothing to accept or reject. Both notions are ultimately silly.

I know, as does everything else, it's about meaninglessness. Yet 'emptiness' can be rejected, one can fight against its realization, ignorantly.Dan Rowden wrote:becomes meaningless

Well, it can't really be rejected. If you're rejecting it you necessarily don't get it, so you're not really rejecting "it".

Ok, running from getting it. Distracting oneself from confrontation of true nature, however you want to describe it, pepole haven't "accepted"/"realized"/"come to terms with".

Well, yes, that's fair enough, but that sort of running away occurs at pretty every level of life for most people. People run away from even the most modest demands of truthful or critical thinking. There's a part of their brain that often sees the outcome of cutting through their precious attachments.

Agreed, 'caught in desire they see only the manifestations', for as long as they are thinking about their attachments and what's wrong or needs to be, it is as if they are unable to see what's all around them.
I have been interested in processes/exercises that help to end that distraction/blindedness. Meditation is clearly one, I think discovering effective ways to circumvent the ego, along with certain delusional conceptual clinging, could be very helpful for others.

....
it means they believe in it and sometimes they prompt me to help. Otherwise I won't say a word about it.
There is an indicator for you, anyone that says a word about it without being prompted is a fucking liar. If you know what I mean?

Without Bodhicitta there's no real chance of anything substantial occurring. "Methods" are really just mumbo jumbo.SeekerOfWisdom wrote:Agreed, 'caught in desire they see only the manifestations', for as long as they are thinking about their attachments and what's wrong or needs to be, it is as if they are unable to see what's all around them.

You feel a strong compassion? or 'need' to help others from suffering?

Not especially. It's part of what I am but I don't think I "feel" it strongly in the way you might imagine. Not sure why you mention it, as compassion is not really related to Bodhicitta (unless your post wasn't meant to be an actual response to the Bodhicitta reference).

It was in response, my fault for thinking the term was more related than apparently it is, haven't heard it many times before. So what exactly is the meaning?

Re: What is the path to the end of suffering?
It refers to an uncompromising will to truth and perfection (enlightenment mind). Some like to tie it to the Buddhist notion of compassion but that's more Tibetan crapola than anything.

Intelligent folks? You forgot already your last chuckle:Cahoot wrote:Not exactly. Not life.Diebert van Rhijn wrote:Yes, that's life for you, hurting, sneering, foolish, creepy and weird. Yet you deny, resist. And I'm bringing it to you gently. You can thank me later!Cahoot wrote:Well, you're augmented the presentation of yourself as sneering fool with a kind of creepy weird.
But hey, don't worry about it. Takes all kinds. Laugh a little. Your so-called "serious" makes intelligent folks chuckle, you know.
That's how you react. No laughter, not much intelligence but a head full of paranoia and delusions about life. You're in denial, Buddhism as shield.Cahoot wrote:you're probably one of those vicious little rat terriers who knows how to fuck up someone's computer.
Re: What is the path to the end of suffering?
lol. Now you're just flailing. It's okay, Deeb. Let it go.
To be petty in one's last moment dishonors all life.

With all the Buddha talk the Arhat gets little mention, though the ideal appears well-suited for the times.

Seeker, a quick google turns up this this personal reflection that I think you'll like, for one reason or another:
“The Bodhisattva and the Arhat: Walking Together Hand-in-Hand”

Re: What is the path to the end of suffering?
So someone asks "what is the path to the end of suffering" and to answer that you go to the first fucking new age colorful internet page with outragious fonts and copies some crappy lines from there to serve as reply. And that on a forum for dangerous and bloody thoughts.Cahoot wrote:lol. Now you're just flailing. It's okay, Deeb. Let it go.
Then you go on and imply I'm the one who is lacking intelligence, insight, decorum and hacked her computer. You're just disingenuous. A hack. That's why I think you indeed should fuck off and get out of your comfort zone, this little Zen nest you made for yourself here. Pathetic!

Oh my. Dear dear dear. Fiddlesticks and all.
Come on now. No need to keep walking the same old patterns. It's all right.

Re: What is the path to the end of suffering?
If you're alive, you experience joy and suffering.
If you're dead (in spirit and motion), you experience apathy and abstinence.
Pick your poision. The world needs living people anyways, and considering the options, it seems the best choice.
Otherwise the topic that was right below this one at the point of posting this reply is called "recommend a good lawyer". It might be useful in this endavour as well. A good lawyer that is, in ending the whole suffering thing.

Another view is ...
One writes what he must write. So does another. The dialogue is the choiceless collaboration of "thy will be done" (Pam). In cahoots. Any meaning derived depends on the frequency to which the receiver is attuned.
You know what Shakespeare said about lawyers.
