Loosely my late-night perspective on this forum. Actually more like some random stuff I was bored and typed up to waste time. Nobody get offended please. Also this isn't really directed towards the QRS so much as it is to other members of this forum who are in disagreement with them. What is your take on the psychology of the QRS?
You sought non-existence, to be fully caused and part of some infinite soup of meaninglessness. No responsibility, no fear, no pain, no suffering, no (superior, at least) ranks, no action required, no meaning, no point, no worries, a state of total relaxation and peace -- nothingness, the cognizant dead. This is your escapism from the world, not only your escapism but your overcoming of the world. You want to be secure -- you need some solid ground, some reigns to hold onto, something absolute and unchanging to cling to to combat the world of appearances and becoming, something that undermines the world of uncertainty and hence conquers it and makes you complete.
> "King David, my liege, logic has granted us literally trillions of absolute (tautological) truths!" -- and there was much rejoicing (and sub rosa addition of a couple dubious truths to the trillions)!
You rose to the highest heights and now descend again for, in very real sense, the 'best of both worlds' -- I imagine years of isolated emptiness would get somewhat boring, not only would 'you' not exist, but 'your non-existence' would not exist. You fully believe your truths. You mean well by spreading your truths because you have a genuine desire to help others. Helping others = nourishing one's superiority by stooping to help those less worthy than oneself, practicing grace, the privilege of the Gods. Your quest for the survival of wisdom nourishes what is left of your ego that keeps you from disappearing into the bush to live as the truly selfless, 'unsung sage' would. Now that you have reached your heights you have strong desire to scribble wisdom all over others, to make your mark. You don't want to be the tree that falls alone in the forest making a sound that nobody ever hears. You want recognition as all other known philosophers obviously have. Zarathustra did it and so do you; let us, however not be under any false pretenses that we are in any way being selfless here.
At this stage you are no longer looking for higher understanding, which you believe does not exist, and hence you have become the fountain that pours out its mercy and grace on all the dessicated ones. Such fountains flow one way naturally, as the withered can never have anything to add that won't cause withering itself, and nor are you looking, especially for that which withers. You believe there is absolutely nothing else that could or should possibly be added, and in this you have already set yourself up in 'defense mode'.
Unfortunately for you the ideas you present are not radical new ideas and they are not irrefragable ideas either...
> "Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh I couldn't hold back any more! Neil is so far off course but at least he is young and has much time to allow the truth I have exposed him to to sink in. At some point he will realize his eternal indebtedness to me and will go on teaching in my name, if he makes it, otherwise he will remain delusional as so many others unfortunately do, isn't that right Danny?" "You know I really like people like Neil. I have met hundreds, maybe even thousands of them, and I really like how they are running away from the Truth: you don't run away from that which doesn't hurt you!!!"
... So you won't get famous from the ideas, but at least you... never wanted fame in the first place... am I right? ...
> "Neil is right, I probably won't ever be famous because the herd is so deluded that they don't recognize truth when it hits them in the head! However this is all the more reason to not even want fame! But it never hurts to try, some recognition for my hard work would be nice." "Yes Kevin, you had best try -- I have logically deduced that God (Nature) must be infinitely dumb so he won't be giving you any."
... At least you have your truths and understanding and 24/7 access moments of spiritual bliss. ...
> "Lord Davor, I have tried to convince Neil of the impending doom and heaviness the sage experiences upon realizing that he is superior to everyone and united to the infinite but he is impervious to this esoteric truth. I am sorry I have failed you, please don't choke me with your mind powers." "My young apprentice, you have not failed, my son Neil's mental blocks have cut him off from the truth. However I sense much value of truth in him, surely he will come to the dark side."
... And at bottom you can't forget that you could have done no other, and hence you couldn't even have been held accountable for failure, but you have ended up largely succeeding anyways -- all the better! ...
> "Kevin: I cannot control anything because I am not the doer of anything. I do not even exist. God is the doer of all things. God is all things."
... I could try to argue against this but is there really a point? This really is a win-win situation as it is -- we have both achieved our happiness by our own "truths" which are both "false" to the other person. God is infinitely dumb and doesn't care whether you are deluded or not so satisfy yourself in whatever manner you must!

Re: Psychology of this place?
Everybody satisfies themselves in whatever manner they like. That's just the way things are. Some people prefer truth and some don't. There's no rule handed down to us that says we must value truth. That is, there's no inherent value in truth, it's just a personal preference. It should never be held against a person if they choose not to value truth.God is infinitely dumb and doesn't care whether you are deluded or not so satisfy yourself in whatever manner you must!

I hope and pray a lot better than yours!Neil Melnyk wrote:Loosely my late-night perspective on this forum. Actually more like some random stuff I was bored and typed up to waste time. Don't be silly. There's no such thing. You sought non-existence,
The Totality can have no meaning or purpose by definition; discriminative consciousness, which is essentially what we are, has it by definition. It's part of what such consciousness is. We are the meaning of the Earth. We are meaning.to be fully caused and part of some infinite soup of meaninglessness.
What do you mean by "responsibility"? Herd value? The sage, having willed himself, takes responsibility for all that he is, which is to say he understands his nature. No responsibility,
Such things are manifestations of delusion. One suffers for the truth, certainty, and this is noble suffering indeed, but the truth liberates one because the truth annihilates the ignorance from which psychological suffering is born.no fear, no pain, no suffering,
You got that from our writings? Wow, you like to make stuff up, I see!no (superior, at least) ranks,
Purpose requires action. Purpose is life, even for a sage. His life is his purpose.no action required,
Ain't death grand!!no meaning, no point, no worries, a state of total relaxation and peace -- nothingness, the cognizant dead.
From the delusions of the world. You don't think Zarathustra wished to be rid of the delusions of this world? Was he merely a Court Jester to you? This is your escapism from the world,
Willing a self and a purpose necessitates overcoming the world.not only your escapism but your overcoming of the world.
You cannot will that which is inescapable. Nietzsche's writings are full of absolutes that you refuse to recognize. He would have spat on your modern, existentialist, postmodern interpretation of him.You want to be secure -- you need some solid ground, some reigns to hold onto, something absolute and unchanging to cling to to combat the world of appearances and becoming, something that undermines the world of uncertainty and hence conquers it and makes you complete.
You have no understanding of either boredom or emptiness whilst remaining boring and empty. You rose to the highest heights and now descend again for, in very real sense, the 'best of both worlds' -- I imagine years of isolated emptiness would get somewhat boring,
Duality's a bit too complex an idea for you, isn't it? One thought at a time for you I guess.not only would 'you' not exist, but 'your non-existence' would not exist.
Truths don't require belief by definition. One sees truths, one does not believe them. Want me to give you a list of such truths Nietzsche saw?You fully believe your truths.
Hmm, I don't think that's accurate. Others are a means to an end.You mean well by spreading your truths because you have a genuine desire to help others.
Now you're just making shit up to sound Nietzschean. I'm not impressed.Helping others = nourishing one's superiority by stooping to help those less worthy than oneself, practicing grace, the privilege of the Gods.
What, like Zarathustra did?Your quest for the survival of wisdom nourishes what is left of your ego that keeps you from disappearing into the bush to live as the truly selfless, 'unsung sage' would.
To extend our will to power. Now that you have reached your heights you have strong desire to scribble wisdom all over others, to make your mark.
No, we don't want to be a particularly stupid philosophical cliche. Do you?You don't want to be the tree that falls alone in the forest making a sound that nobody ever hears.
Who said we were. We're just being what we are, like trees that break through concrete with their roots. Will to power. You want recognition as all other known philosophers obviously have. Zarathustra did it and so do you; let us, however not be under any false pretenses that we are in any way being selfless here.
Wouldn't it be kind of stupid to seek that which you have attained? At this stage you are no longer looking for higher understanding,
Were you drunk or stoned when you wrote this post?which you believe does not exist,
Is that a reference to coconut?and hence you have become the fountain that pours out its mercy and grace on all the dessicated ones.
We defend sanity against nonsense. That is the greatest exigency of this time.Such fountains flow one way naturally, as the withered can never have anything to add that won't cause withering itself, and nor are you looking, especially for that which withers. You believe there is absolutely nothing else that could or should possibly be added, and in this you have already set yourself up in 'defense mode'.
They are ideas you have yet to remotely grasp. This post is a piece of absurd self-indulgence, hence my treatment of it. The rest wasn't even worth a mocking bird's flutter...Unfortunately for you the ideas you present are not radical new ideas and they are not irrefragable ideas either...

Only if the judges and courts believed you! To a certain extend I am glad they don't.
Truth, Justice, Freedom.
Re: Psychology of this place?
Partially accurate, but Neil leaves out the most important detail. That being that "non-existence" (as he sees it) is in every way preferable to existence in a fundamentally deluded state, to those outside such a state.
Not to existence in any state, mind you, but certainly to existence as a walking self-indulgence mechanism. But those in such a state can never realize this unless they are somehow jarred out of it through no choice of their own, however briefly. Othwerise, the grip of reckless hedonism and false thinking is absolutely inescapable.
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. Delusion is inevtitable unless one is either born to escape it or forced to do so. Under no circumstances can a person "choose" to escape delusion. It is either caused to happen or it isn't, and usually it isn't.

Absolute Truth: A=A. This is a reflection of -A=-A (~is this an accurate representation of duality?).
1 + (-1) = 0 (~is this an accurate representation of emptiness?)
1 + (-1) = 0 (~is this an accurate representation of emptiness?)

Re: Psychology of this place?
We understand what A is, because we see what it is not. The farthest we can get from it being not A, is -A.
Opposites attract, hence, forming the duality. This in turn adds up to emptiness.
Is this remotely accurate. Please explain which parts aren't and which parts are.

Re: Psychology of this place?
Yeah, that's pretty much right (or at least close enough), but it doesn't mean much until you realize the deeper implications of it. The best way to do that is ask yourself what such implications might be. If you need some guidance, you might as well go to the original literature, such as Chuang Tzu, Lao Tzu, Nagarjuna, Meister Eckhart, etc. They are better sources than any of us.
You have a good start. Google is your friend.
