Cory,
And one cannot know for certain whether or not the listeners are genetically apt for being wise, so it's better to overestimate people rather than underestimate them. A good example of destructive underestimation is making sweeping generalizations about the inability of black males to achieve enlightenment due to their genetics. It is really quite unnecessary to come to these conclusions.
Yes, but one becomes aware of imperfections of members who have posted repeatedly, and how they are incapable of changing over a long period of time. So realizing that they can only go so far is actually an accurate assessment based on repeated experience.

However, I agree that one can keep challenging people by poking and prodding them. It can never hurt I suppose…but you’d be surprised how much stays the same over the years…Even though people can change, each one still has a fixed number of imperfections that appear to remain entangled in the personality, as biological pitfalls.

And regarding my statement about the black race, I have acknowledged that blacks can do quite well in western society, as there are increasing numbers of black intellectuals, which is a good sign. However, what is alarming is the lack of enlightened bodies of philosophical work produced by the group. That’s not to say that’s its absolutely impossible forever, but something seems to be lacking in the present. I still maintain that this is an accurate assessment, and not racist. It is based on empirical evidence.

There may be a fixed number of nights, but when the sun comes out, they are no longer there.

I believe, based on evidence, that a person's psychology can change.

Psychology is beliefs, ideas, preferences, personal habits. These things can change.

For example:

If one loves consciousness, and I mean enjoys it, and gets a real buzz out of rational experiences, then one will be magnetically drawn to more consciousness.

Kelly,

This is true, but the descending down into the depths of consciousness is only feminizing to the psyche in the beginning, because as one gets down into colder waters, the 'subjective feeling of the world' becomes much more sharp, subtle and immediately gripping.

And you are right, this can be experienced more strongly in the evenings, as the evenings are more masculine in nature...

I would say the evenings are feminine in nature, since it's the less active period of the day. It simply represents the private and unseen, which is what most of consciousness is.

Weininger thought evenings are masculine, too. The body's wages are paid by late afternoon, meaning food, exercise, etc. So, the ego is satisfied. It's had enough to chew on, and isn't creating so much distraction.

Also, it's dark. So, the field of awareness is more focussed on the unseen --- thoughts.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why totally blind people don't make good thinkers. They don't have a darkness sensation, but just imagine and they see it.

Ryan,

Sorry, I will drop the excessive poetry. It can really be confusing.

By "night", that disappears when the sun comes out, I didn't mean "evening" literally. I was referring to your idea that imperfections are biologically entangled in the personality. The imperfection / mental darkness disappears when there is enlightenment.

What I was trying to say, was there are no fixed imperfections. They disappear when understanding arises.

Thoughts are very much tied to the visual function.
