That film reminded me of my true mother, Nature. I liked it.

:)

Yes, well, she will have her way--where every man within her is revealed as the charlatan that he is.

Charlatan? Do you mean that in the sense of "dummy" ?

Well, no, I meant it in the sense of charlatan, but "dummy" is good, too.

Is there some difficulty with the idea of men as charlatans within Mother Nature?

Yes, if I'm thinking that you're equating "mother nature" with "woman." If you are, women are charlatans too :)

Nuclear explosions remind you of Nature? Okay, well, everything is part of Nature - but why nuclear explosions would particularly remind you of Nature is interesting.

Isn't it irritating how many people insist on wishing every adult female a happy mother's day? I've gotten irritated enough to respond at times. Some of this is probably paraphrased, but one interaction went like this:

Some guy: Happy Mother's Day!

me: I don't have any children.

guy: Well, you will some day.

me: The doctor thinks that's unlikely.

guy: Well, you have a mother.

me: She died when I was 20.

guy: Well, have a happy mother's day anyway.

I wonder if he learned anything.

If by "men" you mean "all humans", then you'll need to define "charlatan" better. I used "dummy" in the sense of being causes, what the wise man ruthlessly sees all humans as.

But if by "men" you mean "those believing that one's biological mother is responsible for one's life", then I would use the word "unconscious" rather than "charlatan". A charlatan reminds me of those quack medicine pedlers with tall top hats, long whiskers, and a monkey dancing by an organ. Namely, con men, aware of the trick.

Intuitively, just like Baraka or Koyaanisqatsi remind me intuitively of Nature. The boundless chaos and wildness of creation.
