Sounds like you've got a blueprint.
How exciting.
Pray tell.

Let's do it!

That sounds more like a mood of some kind. Some shifting perception.life is pointless and boring
But if you cannot control your perceptions, in which way it differs from how reality was seen before?

I suppose you go to a forum, and type it out for no-one to read. But of course we do read it, and personally I think you have been on LSD too long. Then you read my reply, and you think it came from your own head, so my reply becomes an excuse for the neglect of your own grey matter. But my intelligence is far superior to your own intelligence, so if I am in your head, I can give you an instant IQ jump.SeekerOfWisdom wrote:Exists only in perception and so life is pointless and boring.. where to go from here?
Your head is telling you...
The Universe began from nothing.
Nothing is 1 + -1 = 0
Therefore nothing is a set of rules, and you can reverse the rules...
0 = 1 + -1
or Zero creates two opposite energy values 1 and -1
Nothing creates the Universe.
Your brain that only reality exists in is made from the same particles. The zero particle emitting a 1, and a -1. This give you a thought from nothing, and nowhere. Hard to comprehend, and you didn't come up with this explanation.. I did. It takes a genius of genius to think in this magnitude, and you aren't capable of it. All of your combined energy led to the belief that reality only exists in perception. Now I am telling you how reality can exist from nothing, but nothing is more complicated than the English language allows.
1 + -1 = 0
Something, plus something opposite equals nothing. It is there in maths, but do you want to take maths literally?
You can try it with all sorts of things. If two waves of exact opposite frequency meet up they flat line. If you try it with a drum, the sound will go away. But with a drum which is flat you can still bring back the sound through vibration. So the opposite still works. Create the universe from nothing, because the universe which becomes infinite nothing, and infinite nothing is so balanced that the smallest vibration will trigger off an entire chain reaction of particles. That's the drum scenario.
Can you really come up with all this without me typing away at my keyboard?
Einstein couldn't come up with all this, and so Einstein made a few mistakes. I have just boosted your intelligence beyond that of Einstein. Yet you say that your reality is your perception. So you now have a higher level of reality thanks to a voice in your head.

Ask anybody.
Pam's 'be love' comes out of a blueprint.
Mood out of an understanding.
When my baby goes to Rio I do the conga,
do the cha cha,
do the samba,
put my back out,
ride the wheelchair.

You made a real big fool of yourself just then.... Calling yourself superior and intelligent while writing a reply that has no relevance. No one said it existed only in a single perception, which was what your whole comment was based on..
By the way, the idea you were referring to is called solipsism, which is by nature undeniable and impossible to provide an argument against... so no point talking about that philosophy really. Also, your argument against it was hugely flawed.
Anyway.
It exists only in sensual experience, yours and mine and everyones. To assume it exists anywhere else is... well an assumption... that could never be supported by a single piece of evidence, so if you are going to continue and say otherwise, do so knowing you could never provide anything to support what you have to say.
Back to topic, it is an illusion of the senses, an idea which was first described by the Buddha Siddhartha Guatama:
" A wise man, recognizing reality is but an illusion, does not act as if it is real, and so he escapes the suffering" - Buddha
(A person which was definitely more intelligent than pinchy here)
Since realizing this as truth, my perception has changed drastically. This is not simply a change of mood, but a completely different understanding of the fundamentals of existence.
Life is boring because i am only bearing witness to these experiences. With no control over them, only the illusion of control, I am trapped in them. They are boring because I have little desire and interest in what happens, and pointless because there are no real or worthwhile goals to achieve. Sure I have overcome most suffering, but being bored isn't much better.
Meditation is the same. Even in meditation, I am always experiencing something. So what is the difference between here or there? Experiencing this or that?

If "Reality exists only in perception" how then can perception be real?

Re: Reality exists only in perception
When you say that reality exists only in perception, do you mean the relative perception of the individual, or the absolute perception of mind at large? I would certainly agree that perception, in the latter sense, is a basic principle of existence, but it is eternal and absolute, not relative or subjective.

Re: Reality exists only in perception
Absolute perception of mind at large. In other words, if we are both in a room, we see the same room, but it exists nowhere else but in our seeing of it. Once it is accepted that reality is in this way an illusion, then the need for an intelligent mind behind our experiences becomes clear. We have no control over what we experience or think, therefore something else must be manifesting it.... This only works if you haven't assumed a physical reality outside of sensory experience.
Re: Reality exists only in perception
Perception of mind is a reality if perceived. Whether classified as an illusion or delusion, it is real simply because it caused an activity of thought. That which does not exist does not exist. So again I ask the question:SeekerOfWisdom wrote:Absolute perception of mind at large. Where do you live jufa?
Your question is a waste of time: Knowing what someone means exactly, and then proceeding to ask a question based on the specific grammar used is for teenage girls on facebook.
See how your seeing right now? That's how seeing is real...
Perception makes up reality. Perception is what's real. Physical reality outside of perception is an illusion.
Ever heard that question, if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound? ( does it exist)
If you say yes then we are on opposite ends of the thinking spectrum and shouldn't converse haha

Just answer the question.
Your hypothetical question, and it is hypothetical because of the if, has no bearing on upon the topic. You see, for you to speak of existence, it has to be equal in exactness and sameness of meaning for the collective whole active in this thread. You wouldn't know that as true because your opening statement is relativism in pure form.
The only reality for anyone is what they are aware of. Tell me, what tree and sound are you referring to? Should you say the one that fell and made a sound in the forest, and you were not there to neither see or hear, then you don't know whether there even was a tree, now do you? Hearsay is relativism, but not universally true.
Go check and see whether the tree was real.
Now answer the question. It is not hypothetical.
