I don't know what that means.

You accuse Matt of shifting his definition of god. Do you have a definition? One that doesn't change, that you are willing to stick with?
But is matt an atheist? And if so, why does he have a definition of god?
Mil,
Why are you evading the question?

Mil,

Because it's an attempt to change the topic from the core irrationality of matt gregory, who is very confused.

Milli and Pascal's Wager

Post by DHodges »

Oh, come on, Milli, it's obvious that it's easier to attack someone else's position than to defend one, and you'd rather not have a position that could possibly be attacked.

By not having a position, you can't be proved wrong, and that's more important to you than discovering what is true.

I know what atheism is. It's not believing in an infinite god. This dude is on crack, and you're on his pipe for some reason.

We're just defining words here.

He uses a simplistic definition of what "the big three" believe, contrasts himself to that and apparently assumes he must be an atheist, based on his own miscategorization of his own contrived categories.

Is matt gregory an atheist?

If you will page up to my post of 15 Nov 2006 13:21, you will see that I have already said that I consider that "infinite god" position to be pantheism, not atheism.

The various definitions as I see them - mostly quoted from dictionaries - were spelled out in my 13 Nov 2006 17:12 post in the "Does God Exist?" thread, including a reference to pantheism about halfway through the post.

I was a bit surprised that no one objected to that, since what I'm calling pantheism seems to be the position of David Quinn and Dan Rowden, who (I believe) consider themselves to be atheists, as well. But they don't seem to be around at the moment.

So you see my point. I want to know what matt says.

Both of them have been around lately, and Dan's been posting some. David has not posted in a long time, but I've seen his name at the top once every few days (actually, he was just here yesterday). They're still here, they're just quiet sometimes.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
