You Come In Burned
You Come In Burned
I haven't contributed anything to this forum and won't be a bitch if I get no help; HOWEVER, what are some zen sleeping tips? I cannot stop smoking pot at this point as I have developed mild==almost certainly temporary==skitzo with insomnia. I know I can take sleeping pills to get over this burned-out patch and I need something better in the long run.

Cannot stop smoking pot? Um, I think you need to rethink that one. You need to stop immediately.
In the meantime, try Valerian Forte.

...Or try Melatonin - it's a naturally occurring sleep hormone in the body. That's what I take, and you can't overdose on it (in the same way that you can't overdose on THC), but beware, if you use it for too long, you'll develop a dependency - meaning: you will be worse off, without it, then you were, on it.
Seriously though, stop smoking pot - it has been proven to cause brain damage!
Good luck

why immediately? the cravings are intense. i guess i could just supplement that with cookies til it goes away. sugars more addictive though but i generally eat healthy so it won't be hard to go back. thanks for the suggestion, i was unaware.

You could also try meditation with breathing techniques. While laying in bed with your eyes closed try slowly breathing through one nostril. Also marijuana can be psychologically addictive, so you should figure out for what reasons are you addicted.

Marijuana has a link to psychosis as a mind altering substance, and in heavy users can temporarily shrink the hippocampus while use continues. It promotes neurogenesis however which would be the opposite of damaging the brain as I originally read it. What you linked does point out legitimate negative effects on the brain though. For most people though, a puff of marijuana would open their mind more than it would do any damage.Dan Rowden wrote:http://www.sciencealert.com.au/news/200 ... 437-2.htmlMySuicide.X.MyBride wrote:[ citation needed ]Ignius wrote:Seriously though, stop smoking pot - it has been proven to cause brain damage!

Sure, a puff here and there is fine with me, but most "users" have a non-intellectual agenda which leads them into trouble.
Re: You Come In Burned
When I smoked marijuana, it was great at times, but for the most part, it was as if the volume on my senses was turned up. And so, instead of getting one thought (or whatever), I was being bombarded by all sorts of, previously (before smoking), unnoticed stimulus. Now, that's not too bad, and it was actually quite enjoyable and controllable, but... Being high in public places is extremely psychologically aggravating - it just becomes too much, even when, I was by myself.
I don't know. Perhaps, it activated my symptoms (though, there were no symptoms before the weed). Weird.
More recently, whenever I'd smoke (several months ago), I'd feel as if the weed was poisoning my body (ex. my lungs would feel sore, my heart would race, etc etc etc...).
On second thought, it's sort of like alcohol, in that, it has some benefits in low doses, but it's also a good idea to remember that it is a toxin.

Have you considered it for your arthritic knees?Dan Rowden wrote:Sure, a puff here and there is fine with me, but most "users" have a non-intellectual agenda which leads them into trouble.
I used to make a marijuana tea especially for my dad, he had hip replacements and this was better than the pain killers offered him by the pharma industry. Cheaper, too.

If you are speaking of QRS, they don't seem curmudgeonly to me. I think Dan's angle on drug use, judging from the posts of his which I've read, has always been pretty sensible.baulz owt wrote:GODFATHERS OF PHILOSOPHY:

I was never a heavy pot smoker, and now that I have been cigarette-free for almost three years, my lungs cannot tolerate having smoke in them. I tried Salvia and just couldn't inhale.
I did notice with pot that if you smoked often, you stopped getting high and would go right to the stoned state, at least that happened for me. The risk/benefit ratio seems to increase with usage. And not to get preachy, but THC might be one of the least toxic things in pot smoke.
That being said, I've had a lot of good times with weed. It has been years since I have smoked, but these days drug testing in the workplace is common. Competition out there is fierce. THC stays in your blood for months, since it is lipid-soluble.
One thing that I have found that helps sleep is exercise. Whatever biochemicals exercise causes your body to manufacture, they seem to persist into the evening. If I have experienced an endorphin high during the day, I always sleep soundly at night.
Just a thought.
Get out of the damn basement
That is very true. Regular exercise has many benefits.brokenhead wrote:One thing that I have found that helps sleep is exercise.

Have you heard about the tincture form, which is orally absorbed?brokenhead wrote: I tried Salvia and just couldn't inhale.
How is THC toxic?THC might be one of the least toxic things in pot smoke.
It is in Arizona, for sure, where you can't even push a broom without first and randomly thereafter peeing in a cup. But I didn't think it was ubiquitous everywhere. I've heard places like NY and Mass. are more tolerant. Pennsylvania is bad, though, huh?these days drug testing in the workplace is common.
Actually, two to six weeks, depending on dose and frequency, is what I've read.THC stays in your blood for months, since it is lipid-soluble.
Don't know about endorphin highs, but I do know that if I have worked hard physically during the day I can either sleep like a log or else remain awake long into the night, keyed up from the activity. One thing that I have found that helps sleep is exercise. How successful is exercise in repairing brain-damage? I need to develop some sort of a program for myself, where:
subject A
subject B
Both are the same subject, but one (A) has a great brain-repair program, while the other, does not. I'm sure that A wold have far least brain-damage.
That is possible. Any links?

No. Have you tried it, either way?
Anything is toxic in large enough doses. The factoid that I recall is that one way to measure toxicity is the lethal dose to normal dose ratio. For THC, it is 10,000:1. Water comes in at about 100:1.How is THC toxic?
It's solely at the discretion of the individual employer. They risk nothing but the expense. Like anything else, it becomes a bargaining chip. A company will hire who it wants to hire, reagrdless of the piss-test results. They have paid for the test, they own the results. They put it into a file, and later if they need an excuse to fire you, positive drug test results in your folder will be just what they need. They have the money. They have the information. They have the power. It is in Arizona, for sure, where you can't even push a broom without first and randomly thereafter peeing in a cup. But I didn't think it was ubiquitous everywhere. It's a poison. That's the bottom line.
Now, the interest should lie in: how do I fix the damage? So, what do you do to fix the damage?

Re: You Come In Burned
There's oxygen therapy, brain-games, music, etc etc etc... Now, we gotta know what works and what doesn't work, then we gotta take what works and shove it right into the forefront of our daily activities. Next, we have to stick to it until it becomes a habit.
Life should be about good habits, not bad ones. So, what are some brain-building "..." that have worked for you? (websites, books, expensive gadgets (that actually work), etc etc etc)

Yes, the liquid once, and the smoke a couple times. The liquid was stronger. The effect lasted longer, roughly 20 minutes vs. 5 minutes.brokenhead wrote:No. Have you tried it, either way?Carl G wrote:Have you heard about the tincture form, which is orally absorbed?
Re: You Come In Burned
Can you describe your experiences, Carl? Did you experience or sense anything suggestive of intelligent beings or a being that normal sober people can't usually see or experience?

I cannot recall them clearly. I'm pretty sure they did not contain intelligent or other beings as I think you mean them. There was some stuff there about examining some of my habitual behaviors and the childhood experiences from which they stemmed.
Marijuana Tea Recipes etc...
