Unconscious people cannot be consistent over time because they are always reflecting their immediate surroundings - which are always changing. They have no "I", no character, no soul, and no genius.
Liars find it impossible to be consistent over time, because lies conflict with reality. So the consciousness of the liar is extremely limited
I would argue that the practised liar makes a conscious effort to maintain the deceit whereas truth is unconscious ie it outs "naturally"
So too with the Truth.......the Truth is ever present in our unconscious but we hide it with our conscious state . This is why meditation leads many to the Truth
If this is the case then surely this forum is about as adept at reaching the Truth, with its talk of rationality and Logic as I am at arguing logically.
Two other points to accomany the reading of the above. meditation may be called a semi-conscious state but perhaps that's why so many fail. It is the transition from the conscious to the unconscious.
This conscious state stops us from realising The Truth . Our logic, our rationale is finite and only when we are unconscious can we experience what is Truth
Its a pity however that we have lost this unconscious belief n the Truth God etc by pursuing aconscious thought with all its drawbacks aswell as advantages.
Once the common people believed in God but conscious thinkers have persuaded them otherwise.

Could i possibly be directed to where Kevin originally said the above quote?

The practised liar does so without knowing. Have you ever made a lie without thinking about it. It's effortless and to those who do so as a living these lies are almost unconcouse. If you tell yourself its true it becomes true. Eventualy these people end up living a lie. They lie to themselves with ideas like " i actully did teach" and " Bob Dole wasnt house rep. It was i" and these ideas end up becoming a part of them. They begin living false ego's and ideas that they themselves made up.
Also on the truth. Have you ever found it harder to tell the truth than to tell a lie?

Why does the belive in a high divinity have to be assoctiated with the idea of nirvana. The finding of ones unconious is the finding of ones nirvana. the concious is the greed and lust and so forth brought on by our worldly senses. We cant see the truths in front of us becouse of the greed, lust and hatred that clouds our visions. Entering the semi-concouse is becoming one with ones self. I would agree with you as to many people fail to reach the state of full semi-conciousness. As to why? I guess it would vary from person to person. For me i would think what keeps me from entering this state of bliss is my lust for more. For you it may be something else.
