They darted a troop of Macaques; alphaism is handed down on the Y chromosome, and related to higher adrenalin, lower sertonin and dopamine. "He's just like his father." is true 80% of the time. Genetics is always a crapshoot.

But whatever the hormone profile, severe trauma can change an alpha into a beta. A study of the Blue nosed alpha Mandrills shows that at some point, the females figure they've had enough of his DNA and start running away from him.

The betas pick up on this and start to take him on one at a time. At some point he gets tired, or a beta gets in a lucky hit, and then he gets the living shit kicked out of him. A few days later, his nose is no longer blue, but now red, and some former beta now wears the blue nose. Which is also a crap shoot.

The problem the tribes with lotsa alphas have always had is too many chiefs and not enuf Indians. Betas can self organize to deal with a problem, be it military or whatever, but when that is dealt with, go back to their peer-to-peer relationships. Alphas dont. Once power is acquired, all that matters is how to maintain and extend it.

Alphas innately place close attention to the pecking order; those further down in order to identify discontent and thereby organize a plot for new management. Those at the top ever wary trying to detect plots. This takes an enormous amount of mental energy. Betas dont have the problem. Thus, the communities that have more betas have more mental energy to devote to art and innovation.

Today we see this in software and computer technology which was invented by beta geeks. We also see increasing numbers of women making use of these systems to challenge conventional alpha male rule. The women most successful are the daughters of alphas. Some of them are even taking testosterone shots. Try to stay out of their way.

One new business model that has emerged is beta geeks in a peer-to-peer network coming up with a new promising innovation, but then some of these dykie alpha women finding out about it, and doing the corporate organization. And just cause they are alpha dont mean they are frigid; they just use their vaginal cavities more dispassionately to motivate the geeks to be more creative. Moreover, since the dykes can get laid without expensive status symbols, they accept lower salaries and thus offer a lower cost of management.

So- those male costs get invested in more R&D. Works really well. It would be a really hard sell if investors had not already seen the golden parachutes for male CEOs who drove the business into bankruptcy and spent the rest of their lives in the Caribbean rather than a jail. EVERY time the other alpha male managers fail to seek justice in the name of investors, the number of dykes higher up the corporate ladders increases. It aint upta me.

Daybrown: If that system fractures because of some unforeseen problem, then it'll be back to the generalists able to function in a wider variety of roles. Some of which will be entirely new roles. Alphas are steadfast in their traditions, and many wont be smart enough to adapt to new forms of relationship.

Rhett: I don't agree. Alpha's are where the consciousness and therefore adaptability is. It may be that the beta's develop and refine the alpha's contributions, but the alpha's are the one's making the most important contribution.
A further note about beta's relationship to alpha's.

The beta's life is heavily influenced by the alpha's. Being prominent the alpha becomes a moral centre; it is his nature to do this and he has little choice anyway if the pack is to survive. The Beta's often have resentment if not inner-hatred and jealousy towards the alpha's. These can be summed up as an inferiority complex. To counter this complex, beta's try to find ways they can feel superior.

This can be seen in a particular example, as follows; The alpha's often hand down decisions and processes to the beta's to enact, and a beta with a complex might modify them without authorisation. They do this to stamp their own ego on it, telling themself it is now better. But these changes most likely dumb-down the alpha's work. Or maybe the beta is trying to make it fail, in the hope the alpha is blamed and seen as a failure. There is sometimes little the alpha can do because when he challenges the change, the beta's small ego will stand to lose more than it can handle, so the beta becomes as stupid to deal with as a rock, knowing the alpha will not concern himself with it for long.

Many of the problems in society are because of the beta's trying to drag down the alpha's. Everyone is stuffed when the beta's don't support the alpha's.

That being said it's better for the beta's to become alpha's, where possible. Alpha's deal with each other all the time and do so very well.

My father used to throw darts at macaws, too. He used to make me call him "sir" and smoke dope of mine! Believe me, I'm with you: dads are a crapshoot.
But whatever the hormone profile, severe trauma can change an alpha into a beta. A study of the Blue nosed alpha Mandrills shows that at some point, the females figure they've had enough of his DNA and start running away from him.
This reminds me of the skit Woody Allen did in Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex (but were afraid to ask), when he was dressed as a sperm, with all these other guys dressed as sperm, waiting for ejaculation. A lot can go through your mind if you are a hormone or a sperm in the midst of your big moment. God those were funny costumes.
Right, this is funny stuff, too. Alpha's and Beta's are kinda like the Sharks and the Jets in West Side Story. Colors are really important in the gangs, too. They are leftover from the days of the fags of the Knights of Templar. I mean flags.
The alphas and betas finally resolved their differences in Babylon, where the first written AlphaBeta or Alphabet was developed. They became peers, of which root word Pears was mentioned in one of the early cuniform tablets. The farmers of the Euphrates Valley could and were convicted sometimes of not watering or fertilizing their orchards enuf -- by the fruit trees themselves! This was known as being tried by a jury of your pears, hence the still popular phrase. Amazing what one can pick up in magazines these days, eh.
Pears were also instrumental in establishing the packing order, when it came time to sell the harvest -- most important fruits on top! Hence the Alphatic sex position adopted in the brothels, whereas the Betas always took underneath positions, or became MasterBetas, from which we get the slang term Beting -- or beating --off.
Today we see this in software and computer technology which was invented by beta geeks. We also see increasing numbers of women making use of these systems to challenge conventional alpha male rule. The women most successful are the daughters of alphas. Some of them are even taking testosterone shots. Try to stay out of their way.
In Babylon this originally led to the establishment of the Post Office and of the first class letter, Alpha Mail. Women make the most successful daughters. Guys can become successful geeks, and sometimes Greeks, and it doesn't work like if your mother is a Jew you'll be Jewish. You just have to love Beta cheese -- the original name for Feta.
Never trust a dyke with a van dyke. This all started with the Beta Greeks. They were sick of playing second fiddle to the Ozarki Alphas, sick of all that head smarts that had grown men burying truck trailers in the hillsides in the no man's land between Sparta and Athen in case of Armageddon or the Pubic Wars.
Well, white men got no rhythm for R&B. Kid Rock is a joke. And what's with him still posing for pictures with his shirt unbuttoned. Dude, you're pushing forty, you been partyin' for twenty years, you ain't got the stomach for it anymore. And if you think he is going to stick his finger in any dyke, much less climb any ladders to save the music business, well bend over.

Ryan: It is more than just a political issue; the problem is that many of the present alternative green methods will only support lower populations.

Cory: True, but I think if each citizen made sacrifices in order that they could maximize available green methods, combining them with current mainstream methods, that would make quite a difference.
Australia could fairly easily go 100% sustainable energy i reckon, if it wanted to, within a few decades. Even when i try to think of a worst case scenario i still come up with ideas that might work. Maybe a worst case scenario would be a small, landlocked, no decent rivers, low-wind, cloudy, densely populated, badly administered, financially poor country. But then it won't use or need much power.

<Ryan: It is more than just a political issue; the problem is that many of the present alternative green methods will only support lower populations.>
Alternative green methods wont support the nuclear family household. But- a return to communal living, such as is still seen with the Mosou of SW China, is a model that would work globally run entirely off alternative energy.

The one large communal house, with one central large kitchen and heating system uses far less energy per capita. The communal houses are also small businesses, so there is no need to commute, no need for a family car, and again, no more energy/capita than its fair share of global resources.

However, the Mosou dont have marriage as we know it. One effect of the nuclear family house with only 1-2 kids growing up in it is that you end up with a generation of spoiled brats. The Mosou women dont bear more than their fair share of kids, but those kids are all raised together, like a live in daycare center, and psychologically adapt to all the others the same as siblings of a large family. They learn to share, as well as compete.

Because the grandmothers are there at all times with the daycare, the mothers can pursue other arts and crafts. The lower consumption adds up to a lower cost of living, so that the adults can support the whole enterprise on 20-25 hours/week.

But- psychologically, pheremones being what they are, monogamy does not work. The grandmothers, who own the houses and the businesses, only move in those men they find useful as mentors. If a woman wants a stud muffin lover, they dont care, but the stud is never left at home alone with the kids while the mother works. Which is the major cause of sexual abuse in the nuclear family cultures.

Lacking the psychodrama which comes of physical and sexual abuse results in a community with a very different spectrum of 'people types'. Wherever a man falls on the alpha-beta spectrum does not matter much. Being alpha does not give him control over resources that young women can acquire by offering sexual services. The grandmothers own, and control, the resource base. The sex kitten gets no more than any other woman who is less sexually attractive.

Men who dont own women, dont fight over them, nor do they try to corrupt the system in order to get the wealth to buy more sexual access to more women- since that is not for sale at any price. Whether a man gets laid depends on his stud muffin charm as perceived by young women, or if he is a valued mentor who is in the house on a more convenient basis.

I have no data on sperm selection for conception, but now that the grandmothers have access to better information on that question, I'd expect them to select for the kind of men whose progeny would prove most useful, ie profitable, to the household business. If they knew about the qualities of Ashkenazic Jews, and their success in business, such men would be preferred. They are a unique strain, alpha in their economic competitiveness, but not physically aggressive, and unlike so many other alphas, rarely alcoholic.

Moreover, while their daughters are also smart and entrepreneurial, those daughters are rarely frigid bitches, and able to perform sexual services for the mutual benefit of the business. From my personal experience, they dont wake up in the morning wracked with guilt or worried about whether I respect them. Then, when its time to move on, the drama level is much lower.

There are many more 'people types' than are depicted in the mass media, which prefer those which generate the most drama for the sake of ratings.

I concur with the need in communal living to apportion the global resources i.e. the balls. In the ancient city of Kucha, in the Chia Pet Province of China, where the whores spoke 21 languages, they knew this well. And as Woody Allen also demonstrated in his great film Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex, sperm have feelings, too.
However, the Mosou dont have marriage as we know it. One effect of the nuclear family house with only 1-2 kids growing up in it is that you end up with a generation of spoiled brats. Exactly, when a fair share of siblings learn to share, the moose population will be able to browse in bookstores in peace. But look out when they actually whip out their credit cards to buy a book. There's nothing more dangerous than a charging moose.

Makes sense. While the grannies are having wild sex, the moms can do arts and crafts and bake muffins -- stuffed and studded with chocolate chips -- for afterwards. I witnessed an orgy once. Ordinary women turned into raging Celts.

Alpha-beta Spectrum is a new seven grain cereal myself and some of the boys in my neck of the woods are marketing. We call it that, but it's actually all corn. Corn, the flatlander feed, only good for fattening hogs. Part of a plot to take over the world by stupifying everyone. Oops, did I say that?
Men who dont own women, dont fight over them, nor do they try to corrupt the system in order to get the wealth to buy more sexual access to more women- since that is not for sale at any price. Whether a man gets laid depends on his stud muffin charm as perceived by young women, or if he is a valued mentor who is in the house on a more convenient basis.
Whether a man gets laid or not depends on how many muffins he can eat -- which impresses the girls -- and whether he comes calling with menthol on his breath. So pick up some tic tacs, guys, and arrive with an empty head. Stomach. Arrive with an empty stomach.

I have no data, but I suspect grannies have better sex when they are NOT straining beneath a burly hairy sweating Ashkenazic Jew -- successful as said Jew may be in business.

Ancient witches had a solution. First dosing the troops with a drug, 2nd telling them that an invisible demon on their shoulder would take over and tell them what to do. But then, after the battle, the witches dosed the demons with a poison, they taking the guilt for the action away with them. Machiavelli would understand how the monkey on the back took the blame, and left the troops without PTSD.

Which kind of person are you?
Possibly this one:
Still others have the talent but lack the willpower. They can't stand the idea of putting in all the effort required.
I'd like to think so, anyway. However, I could also be the type of person who lacks both talent and willpower. It's possible I will never know for sure, because in either case, I lack the willpower to do attempt something which would settle the issue decisively.

And even then, it wouldn't be totally settled, because in some cases the value's of one's work is only realized posthumously. Nietzsche self-published a couple of his works, didn't he?

There's also a psychological issue in play: some people (like me) suspect that they may have talent, but are hesitant to "put it to the test" because they also suspect they may not. In such a situation, the fear of discovering that one lacks talent can outweigh the desire to confirm that they do. This also saps motivation.

It's basically an egotistical hang-up, but these things can be deeply-rooted.

Actually I think daybrown is an denizen from another place and time, who, for reasons unknown is using Genius Forum as his personal Blog, in which he arbitrarily spews forth the World History he has accumulated from magazines and television, and his personal "take" on society.

He seems oblivious to the fact that this is a philosophy forum concerned with the path to one's Enlightenment, and pretty much refuses to address any one here directly. Such are the costs of time travel, I'm guessing, and perhaps the anomalies of his alien culture.

daybrown wrote:Primate field studies give us the term "alpha male", which is a lot more than just testosterone; higher adrenalin (to speed reflexes) and lower seratonin (to sharpen senses) and dopamine (which creates pleasure from excitement) have been well documented, but I doubt that's all.

Part of the problem is that as you increase the excitement level, prefrontal lobe activity declines, and the male runs off the core of the limbic system- the reptilian brain. Which is really fast, but stupid.

Its the beta males who are sneaky. Plan an attack, like when the alpha is sleeping. That's a major problem for alphas; their innate aggressive reflexes would be slowed were they able to empathize with targets, but as a result they cant empathze with anyone. Which means that they cant think like the other to know what that person would do. So- they dont really know who to trust to sleep with. As a result, they have poor sleep habits, and tend to wake up grouchy.

"Dont bother your father. He just got up." But now, the daughters of the alphas inherit drive while at the same time they inherit intuition from their mothers. They can read body language and determine who to trust without having to threaten them if they fail to meet that trust.

And to complicate the situation further, trauma can dramatically reduce testosterone levels, while at the same time, given authority over others can increase them. As if that's not enuf, there are biochemical effects in the food, beverages, diseases, allergies, or chemicals one gets exposed to. Alphas tend to be drunks because of the low dopamine levels, and can consume immense amounts of alcohol, which they metabolize differently, before, quite suddenly, they become shitfaced.

The alphas that are smart enuf, and lucky enuf, to cope with all this are rare, and those who are not, are so full of rancor they threaten the stability of modern civilization. They flourish in anarchy and barbarism, and instinctively know this. This is less common, less often as severe in women, but watch out for the truly ballsy bitch.

One of my friends is a case in point. A remarkably stacked trophy blonde. However, nearing menopause, she had problems, and the ultrasound reveals she has undescended testes. She really *does* have balls. There are a lot more people running around with various forms of hermaphroditism than Christians can handle thinking about. We are not all either male or female. One of the reasons t he Greeks were so smart, was that they understood this.

Sometimes, its fraternal twins in which one twin of the other sex is absorbed, as in the case above. Whichever is on the outside appears normal. But the presence of both testosterone and estrogen does complex things to the psyches. So, depending on where you draw the cell sample, the person is either XX or XY. Then there's another variety, in which more than one sperm enters the egg. If all are XX or XY, no biggie, nobody notices the diff, but if not, then its XXY.

Which is another case that blows the usual debate about the battle of the sexes out of the water. There are some like Tireseus, that can perform sexually with more than the usual set of genitalia. If it were not for the erection, they really could fuck themselves. I have not asked, but bending it that far...

When you add it all up, the binary Christian concept of men vs women makes no sense.

well very nice conversation about the binary Christian concept of men vs women it just man and woman has a differences ..just respect one another..

I'm the kind of person who thinks that my kind of people aren't recorded in history. The real heroes for me are the people who didn't make it into the history books, the hundreds of thousands of individuals who put their families before their legacy or had more passion for truth than for fame.

People who didn't care about leaving a record of their existence as much as they cared about existing.

I can't think of any off-hand...
