Re: Death
John has two options.. either he will take the apple, or he will take the orange.
Tony... "Hey Tina do you think he will take the apple?"
Tina... "Maybe!"
There is no way that Tina can be sure in this situation. As there is no way that you can be sure in my situation.

Re: Death
You can, I hope, see from that why it is considered good form (both scientifically and philosophically) to assume the least possible existents: otherwise we would be swamped with an infinite number of maybes for each and every truth. That there are an infinite number of truths already makes counting maybes even more absurd. In other words, assume false unless truth is proven.
Therefore, it is valid for me to say that your theory is false. It's not even a maybe.
In the example you presented, he did not take the apple. He also did not take the orange.

Re: Death
There is not an infinate number of truths, there is 1 history that has to be unravelled. This history holds all information about everything that has ever happened. It is a single truth of all things. All future events are a maybe, and John was about to perform a future event. However, a maybe holds a strength value, and you can use the strength to decide if you want to call it a truth. That there are an infinite number of truths already makes counting maybes even more absurd. In other words, assume false unless truth is proven.

Re: Death
This sounds like an argument for free will.
Do you believe in causality? In other words: do you understand cause and effect?

The future is a maybe. I didn't add it to my post in time for you to read it. Truth = the past, and unravelling the events. Maybe = The future.Trevor Salyzyn wrote:This sounds like an argument for free will.

Free will is to operate out of this dimension, and therefore be free of the physical rules of cause and effect. ie our souls operate from another dimension. The dimension is an open space, and we can just swap places of a physical world. Demonstrated by the spooky action over a distance experiments. These experiments show that the physical world does not necessarily have to work in a linear fashion, but an event can bypass the rules of time, and distance. Such tiny particles have no history of events, they come to life only in the present, and only from observation. We could in theory self observe our own particles, and therefore make decisions that are not based on historic events like our physical world flowing around us.

TheChessPlayer,
A very interesting film entitled, "The Seventh Seal," by Ingmar Bergman, may be to your liking.

I already know what it is. It is a thing that you will discover last in detail.TheChessPlayer wrote:Death has allways beeen a mystery to me. And allways will, its the thing humen will discover last in detail
