Just a quick hello to everyone at this point.
I am hoping this site will be some kind of personal sanctuary for me, but we will see! I fear very few ever seem to understand me and I almost always feel disconnected with most of society and people I interact with. It’s a lonely existence for me when trying to find mental, philosophical stimulation. I have been called a genius, crazy, a basket case to name a few things.

It's true, an existence centered around thinking tends to put you at odds with most people and events around you because those operate rather thoughtless, for better or worse.
It puts you also generally at odds with other thinkers because we need more than philosophy and thoughts to meaningfully connect in the social and psychological sense. Our own particularities will make it hard to "feel" understood or express the complexity of our being.
Could you tell what you've considered mental and philosophical stimulation so far? And what does it do for you? A site becoming a sanctuary? I guess it can become a hangout purely by the lack of stuff on it where most of society is so anxious about; thus it becomes at least bearable.
