Post Moderm Warfare ( or Jihad Vs BigMcWorld )

Post by zarathustra »

there is no doubt that americans have a history of reprisals made with exemplory force and terrible strength. the attack on pearl harbor in 1941 ( with 2,500 dead ) was paid back a hundred times over by the atomic bombs dropped on the civilian populations of japan. the comparrison with what happened in new york and washington is not false. the problem these days is that we do not know who is playing the role of the japanese. the first phase of the investigation holds the islamic movement responisble. they are putting forward the name bin lardhead, who has obsessed the americans. but a movement is never bound up exclusively nor even fundamentally with one man, group or country. it is a nebulous and elusive network. the elimination of b lardhead would give pleasure to washington but it would obviously not make the terrorist threat go away. the yankee doodles have been struck by an invisible enemy which does not have a name. it has been attacked by 'networks'. in the age of networks the figure of the partisan is revealed in all its fullness. the attacks on new york and washington are acts of postmodern warfare. the worst thing that could happen ( and I'm sure will! ) is that by successive stages the war will go beyond the islamist terrorist movement to include arab-muslem countries in general, and then just who the japanese are will be abundantly clear, such states and peoples judged as sufficently arrogant to challange the dominant american coca-cola model, and we all know where that leads....booooomm!!!!dahh.....

.

Also, speaking of Saddam, it is the U.S. that executed him not the Iraqis. It was Special Forces men with masks that did the job. It seems Bush insisted on this.

Basically correct. The average world citizen roots for one team or another without knowing who the teams really are and who are the players. There is much behind the orchestrated appearances, but most people care not, or are too busy trying to put bread on the table and circuses on the screen.

So what's wrong with this? This is how we figure out whose side God is on.

It could go either way. Radicals have the initial advantage because they know what they want and are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. Pragmatic people do not generally kill themselves. In the long run however pragmatism always prevails over fundamentalism and absolutism.
