It must be the humidity, right? Right?!

Not really. Just my experience driving, that when it's raining out, people do all kinds of reckless things.

This is probably selective perception on my part. I consider driving in the rain to be somewhat more dangerous, and calling for extra prudence and caution (because of limited visibility and possibly limited road traction). Other people apparently don't see it that way.

I'd rather blame the humidity than think about the fact that so many drivers are completely clueless and oblivious, which makes driving more stressful.

I propose that when you are driving and see someone doing something dangerous and illegal, you should be allowed to shoot their car with a paintball gun. When you see a car with paint splotches all over it, you'll know to give them room, and the cops would keep an eye on them.

Bad drivers need some additional feedback to correct the behavior, and this would provide it. Also, I'd really like to shoot the fuckers.

LOL - I came up with this exact idea back in high school, though it was primarily aimed at a specific intersection I had to go through every day. Of course you'd have that one guy with road rage shooting you onehundred times in a row while you just marked someone else's car once...

I also considered getting a sniper rifle, sitting at the top of the hill and shooting people's tires out. Nothing like financial pressure to make people behave...

Anyway, I don't know that people drive more recklessly when it rains - more that they don't drive less recklessly. So while you are slowing down, you're seeing more people speed past. They fail to realize that rain makes driving more dangerous. Of course people also fail to realize that driving is dangerous to begin with. Would you let yourself be thrown at the ground at 60mph? of course not. So what makes you think hitting a semi at that speed would be any different?
