Carl,
S: The greatest fault a man can commit with regards to woman, is to mistake his will, for her kindness.
C: How so does he mistake his will for her kindness? Can you give an example?
By confusing the two; his will, with her kindness.
"If a man causes a women to smile, he should be careful to guard his wallet (among other things)"
S: Most people are so vain, that the act of eating becomes a shopping spree.
C: Rather than vain I would say addicted to the need to feel good.
Couldn't this need to feel good, also be vanity in disguise? More accurately, the most acute vanity known to experience?
S: No Woman, no progress.
C: You mean because women bear the children, so without them humanity would die out? Or you mean spiritually? Do monks in a monastery not have the possibility of spiritual progress? Please explain.
Spiritually.
"The feminine"
S: A woman mimics her own reflection.
C: Clever, and fashionable. But not for certain true.
Are you calling me a woman? :-P
S: In telling a lie, a man may gain insight. In telling a lie, a woman may gain emotion.
C: May? Or, vice versa?
Vice versa.
S: A timid character is often the result of a purposeful constitution.
C: This is odd. Can a character be timid? Do you mean personality? Can one's constitution be purposeful? Do you mean one's life?
Sure. The adjective "timid" can be applied to most nouns. One's "being," "spirit," "mind."
S: To finally align your will with your character, is the great benchmark of discovery.
C: Aligning will with character implies for me conscious work. How then would the achievement qualify as discovery? What is discovered?
Conscious work it is.
The achievement would qualify as discovery because prior to the achievement, the misaligned will/character would usually result in misaligned self-perception (As self-perception is paramount to consciousness itself).
S: Humans are clever because of their ignorance, God is simple because of his intentions.
C: Hmm. You believe in a personalized God?
Well, I believe in my own Buddha-Nature. :-)
