I see the QRS still don't feel the need for doing their duties as moderators. Why? Seriously, I want to know. Why are insulting, came-here-yesterday, ignorant morons being tolerated?

Wait, I got it. It must be for entertainment purposes.

Boyan: Dan has banned people before, but it seems he doesn't like what it does to the forum afterward. It takes quite a bit of effort to get him to bring the hammer down. As to David, he gets criticized for virtually anything he does forum-wise, so he's probably deferred that sticky part of forum moderation to Dan's judgement.

Also, a lot of the moderation is stuff that you don't actively see: deleting spam accounts, etc. etc.

The newbies that aren't trolls may grow in time to be cynical GF members.

I have certain criteria for taking such actions that if not met, don't warrant said action. I will not ban people simply for being foolish in their opinions. If a person engages in obvious trolling behaviour, and that constitutes the greater part of their posting behaviour, they will likely get themselves banned. But it would surely be utterly tyrannical to ban people on the lone basis of keeping the quality of threads where I'd like them to be. However, for a while I plan to be a little more active in terms of threads staying in the main forum. I do intend to exercise some quality control there, if only to make a point.

I don't take banning people lightly.
