My Dad contacted me 3 months after his physical death with the same sign on my forehead ( as a focused air as I was meditating) that I inscribed with annointing oil on his forehead at his funeral. (I was the presiding priest.) But he died in '87 and has not "visited" since. He was an enlightened mystic also and has, I just know, left the world of form behind. It is not a question of personal identiy "surviving death eternally." Just a Divine "allowance" for taking care of any unfinished business as an individual.
What about the body. You seem to be implying that there is something like the soul which can participate in the life with the demise of the body. So the body is dead, no more consciousness for it?

How about when someone is unconscious? Is he still conscious?

Think, maestro. Is the consciousness of a frog the same as that of a human? Why not? Is the consciousness of a cell the same as that of the whole body? Why not?

I understand what you are saying michiel !!

God IS all that IS. All that IS not was created from the fall in consciousness... the keys to death.. are understanding that negativity forms the whole in fueling creational conscious growth. within this 3d realm.. negativity within illusion fuels more negativity.. hence the illusion and confusion in density. In ONENESS we see all that is in relation to all that IS NOT. so can perceive any negativity within illusion as simple misunderstanding. With new understanding formed with all that IS we transmute that to posaitve vibrational energy of love and light.... ascension, not decension into more confusion.
God encompasses all... therefore both m/f aspects.
amandaxxx

ps i note what you say above about consciousness unchanging.... but doesnt consciousness grow into the infinite... the creator created the oceans of consciousness..many of which are void and fueling creation from new understanding within this density serve to expand consciousness.. as it is alive?

And why do you perceive that creativity has no honour here...creativity is the driving force behind all things. I think its great that you have an affinity with your creations.. Us artists always do ;-)

According to me consciousness is a misnomer, there is perception and processing and reaction. Humans and frogs have different perceptions processing and reactions.

There is universal consciousness in the sense of perception processing and reaction even in a nonliving thing. But I have said this earlier, and you have disagreed.

In any case I am trying to get Mikiel to put what he is saying in a more concrete form.

But of whom are you speaking, Sue?
Most ordinary adults.
You need not be taught in order to learn, strictly speaking.
You consider that to be the only way one learns?
But to say that adults need not be "taught to believe" is really to miss the point. Adults who cannot humble themselves cannot learn and are then left with nothing but the lies they have been fed.
Why any need to “humble”. If you have a mind that diligently will not accept anything less than complete certainty as to what is true, you're not going to allow yourself to waste your time on lies.

It sounds as if, in your estimation, there haven't been any adults that have escaped eating up “lies”?
Remember, these lies are often in the form of fairy tales and myths, and other fictions meted out as convenient explanations to importantant questions. There is little sinister in them - they are not given to us to hold under penalty of death if we abandon them.
Even if they were “given to us to hold under penalty of death”, do you imagine every adult would be so gutless and simple minded that they would swallow those lies.
Ignorance is what it is and nothing worse. What needs to be done is for one to humble him or herself, to look at the world with fresh, albeit not new, eyes. An adult must make himself ready to be taught the truth, ready to learn it. Belief comes from understanding the this truth.
So you consider adults to all be dull minded children – needing to passively be told what is true?

-

Broke, in your world view you appear to imagine that all people are unconscious idiots. Perhaps you like it that way so you can humbly not stand out at all!?!

You're the one who thinks that! To wit:
Sue: One would think that adults need not be "taught to believe", but alas, having had their minds so muddled by so many lies told to them when children, in adulthood most haven't the mental fortitude to think anything for themselves
brokenhead: But of whom are you speaking, Sue?

Not all people! Just you!
Even if they were “given to us to hold under penalty of death”, do you imagine every adult would be so gutless and simple minded that they would swallow those lies.
Not every adult! Just you!

Sue, could you possibly misunderstand what I wrote any more?

I give up with you! I'm throwing in the towel! You're hopeless!

This is not a rhetorical question. I am open to an honest answer.
I understand it very well, mikiel.

I also understand that the ONE CONSCIOUSNESS manifests itself into individual entities. You are not God. I am not God. But we are of Him, literally.

Hi sue;-) I understand what you are saying.. and i also understand what others say.. remember when one says something to you they are just airing their own insecurities and misunderstandings. As ONE we can relate to the whole.. we are many in expression of the one.. and within this 3dimension realm.. negativity within illlusion fuels misunderstanding.

When one can express for the many we see the confusion arise... truth dispels the negativity..as it shines b4 our eyes ;-) We are ALL 'god' for we do have the image and free will.. yet within illusion we manifest negativity through misunderstanding. negativity fuels more negativity and only serves to fuel the ego or 'devil' . When one becomes aware of what IS in relation to what we are NOT we can dissolve confusion, the doubts, the fear, with new perception of what is.. with new timeless universal understanding for ALL.

perceptions are infinite in truth. Male logic and femenine intuition form ONE. Most cannot listen to themselves.. as negative emotion created within density..only fuels misunderstanding and inflates egos.. And indeed humility places you back on an equal par with all others.. in relation to the whole. Basic concepts of selflessness and unconditional love.. do dispel confusion.. hence we have the commandments in the first place ;-) Until most transcend egos.. they will only remain as pupets on this stage manifesting in linear time.. To be in control of your own strings your own mind you see through the illusion and see more and more of what we already ARE. Not lost atall.. but free.

I would cut her slack if she was twelve. Amanda is, I think, a senior in college and should know how to write in English.

Anyway, that's my prejudice, I suppose.

One does not assume that casting judgement upon another will credit your self. It IS your own insecurities that are manifest here. Instead of your narrow minded judgement how about some constructive criticism with regards to the context of my discussion. If you want academic prose then I am quite able. Mobile phones were not in circulation as I grew, so empty words and opinionated remarks serve no purpose in your understanding. All I see is arrogance and conceit in attempts for you boys to fluff your own egos. Come and be a man and question my understanding with some construction of your own or do you want to continually be playground products. You stereotype and judge, how can an ounce of wisdom come from your minds when they are so closed, answer me that?

Hilarious is an understatement!! haha

I can give you what ever you would like, we all can be anything the other desires ;-) Text speak or academia.. it means NOTHING what IS important is UNDERSTANDING, yet stereotypes and judgement abound here while consciousness reverberates around cyber space. It is all one big laugh and if you UNDERSTAND then the joke IS never on you!! haha

elderwoodxxx,

You had my interest when you wrote:
I can give you what ever you would like,
But completely lost it when you said:
we all can be anything the other desires ;-)
: p

But on a more serious note, you are correct that other people - and indeed everything - are whatever our mind discriminates them to be. And our state of mind can be effected by many things; hormones that change our moods, illness and pain that alter our patience level, emotions that sway us, and on and on...

So it is an important point that you make, because it impresses upon us the importance of taking our own mind seriously enough to sort out what is actually true - and what is just our emotional state.

To be anything, means that you can be what another desires.. what another desires however is usually ego derived. That is all i meant.. perceptions are wonderful things ;-)

My description of the Christian god as “The Grandfather in the Sky” comes from observing the psychological relationship Christian’s have with their god.

An example:
Brokenhead, a Christian, wrote:
We are His [God’s] children. We belong to Him as a child belongs to its parent.
Those sentences I found in the longer paragraph quoted below. In it, Brokenhead further displays the Christian’s need to wrap themselves in a relationship which they deem as special and personal:
That it all belongs to Him makes it His body - yet the material in the Universe is not God. We can only comprehend God through that part of Himself He has delegated out to be Other, including, as mikiel says, our own selves. We are His children. We belong to Him as a child belongs to its parent. A parent grants separate being to a child out of love; just as our persons are a gift of love from the Creating Spirits. If we could only grasp that! Our very selves are God delegating Himself outward into flesh. Yet He retains a separate Personhood for a reason. Just as it is His desire to have us as part of His Creation, He understands that we are made in His image, that it, as distinct persons, and so He makes Himself available to His children.
Keeping god and man as separate identities allows the Christian to fulfill their emotional desire for a protector – a parent. In young children, such a desire can be understood and accepted. But in adults, it is clearly a case of arrested development.

Therefore, my description of their god as, "The Grandfather in the Sky" is true, for it accords with the Christian psychology.
