They exist only as far as the experience goes.

My hand exists in that funny little hand feeling I get, and in the sight of my hand, and whatever experience I might have with the hand.
But it only exists as far as those feelings, sight being the most convincing of them.

Every day I stare into the dream of sight and wonder about the how, but it's impossible.

Granted.
There is no reason and there are causes/conditions.

The causes and conditions we know of are based on our particular sense experiences. I'm john and there are john causes/conditions on earth.

When I die, there will be different causes/conditions contradictory to the one's John experienced.

Dennis I'm so god damn bored I can't handle it any more haha, give me real options, things to actually do, anything good, maybe I should just read a lot with the spare time?

What does everyone else do?

SeekerOfWisdom, I think you are mixing up two different things which is confusing or stemming from some confusion. You appear to take certain philosophical insights as "constant change", "emptiness", "no inherent existence", "truth is relativity", "knowing we don't know" and so on and then use these to invalidate in another context the value of scientific understandings, laws, logic, the possibility or value of rational thought and more. The reason you are doing that is easy for me to guess. It's certainly easier to dismiss the complexities and demands of the world by holding on to your internalized outlook and being philosophical about it all. But the truth is you cannot escape your own trap: you will sooner or later have to face the laws, navigate the rules, understand some science and engage in logical thought to function as a living being and grow wiser and to increase self-knowledge. Since you might have some surprises in store yet for yourself. This is not an option, this is just how it will be and perhaps it's time to get ready for it?

I'd like to venture an assessment.
take it or leave it.
try it on OK?.

In your mind 'Fiji' shows up as freedom.
Not being there in 'Fiji' shows up as bondage.
The experience bondage turns on irritable, restless, discontent.

Just go to Fiji.
What's the hold up?

I never said I wouldn't have to act like it's all real :b I do, because I still feel the mortality of my vehicle and have an inherit fear of it's destruction.

Kunga pointed out something similar, "you still have to navigate the illusion to avoid the suffering". I really don't know what more self-knowledge I can get to be honest, there probably is some, but I feel as if I'm ready to leave this place, that I'm only choosing to stay, ready for extinction, to overcome those illusory fears that are making me continue to drink from the waters of a mirage to keep the mirage of my self alive, I don't think death would surprise me much, for me there is little that distinguishes my dreams, life and imagination, it is all only an endless dream. The only question is, do I revert back to limited sensual experience, or some other form of higher existence?

I am under the assumption the choice is mine, if I still crave for sensual experience then no doubt when I face the void I will be drawn to sensual experience and re-attach myself to another sensual life, but if I were to keep the mind clear and accept the complete detachment when the end comes, maybe I won't revert? Who knows, I'm basing this on my person transitions from unconscious states to conscious ones, I could be completely wrong.

Still, I'd prefer if someone could give me some worthwhile options on how to spend my time, or at least ideas that would properly distract my mind? I'm aware too often.

-Dennis

No not really, I am not really concerned if I'm here or there as I'm not thinking of it as a future goal I need to achieve before I can relax, I would still like to go to Fiji and I am for atleast two months in January before trying to get residence, and maybe chilling on the beach and in nature is the answer, but I still think I will eventually have to face this same problem, the only solutions I can think of are to completely distract the mind from constant awareness (which is hard because I find most things boring, maybe if I force myself to "get into" them it will be ok, but for how long?), or having some kind of bigger goal or purpose to achieve that will distract my mind enough to think there is a real purpose, and of course there is always death... maybe I should just be a full time gamer haha.

The bondage is a bondage to constant awareness, that is what is bringing about the pointlessness of every day things.

Yes just another empty and meaningless illusory thought, I make up the negative just as I make up the positive, the way I view things is up to me, I'm the meaning maker, the winning formula is to realize that causes/conditions exist no matter what, so you might as well use the causes that bring about positive attitudes rather than just as meaningless negative attitudes.

I have understood and accepted this, that there is no other path, got to live here for now after all, the question is, how to best forget that everything is empty and meaningless?

How to best distract the mind so I can be the meaning maker I need to be? Where should I be placing the meaning?

This is hard because it's not just an idea I am holding in my mind that it's meaningless, I can see the meaninglessness through awareness of the illusion, there are causes/conditions, but the effects of them are illusory and at worst a mild annoyance.

You want me to past the time and make up meanings just because I have no other choice but to pass the time? I will, but only if it's not so boring that I can actually accept it has some kind of meaning, even one of self-interest.

Fine then, going to go watch a movie and continue to pass the time... that knowledge won't make it feel any more meaningful.

It's also empty and meaningless that it's boring.

Yet it is still boring.

This can't be helped with philosophy, only some kind of action.

You argue on one hand that nothing has its own essence.

now you are saying it has the intrinsic identity 'boring'.

Nothing has its own essence but our human experiences have characteristics. I am not creating that identity "boring", I am experiencing the emotion "bored", that isn't my choice, it's just there.

Let me assure you.
IT is free of your projections.

The projection 'boring' serves a purpose for you.
You can hide in that.

You think the boredom only exists because I'm projecting it due to my lack of acceptance of what is. That I have some kind of idea of what could be better and that's creating this view that what is.. isn't good enough, that it's boring.
IT is projecting the boredom, and IT is asking for a way to end those almost automatic projections.

Dennis, I'm understanding what you are saying to me, but that understanding isn't enough, I need a clear set of options for this one, actions, I can't overcome this through thought or speech.

boredom is a possibility.
it is not an intrinsic nature of existence.
it is not a fixed condition.

if that were the case all people would be experiencing boredom at all times which is not the case.
IT is projecting the boredom, and IT is asking for a way to end those almost automatic projections
Let's say IT is bored.
How could that be?
It looks like IT was running on the spot for so long that it seems like there was no possibility for IT but resignation.

its just a 'neck of the woods' for IT to experience as you say.
no drama.
move on.

Move on to what is the question then?...the mundane? I mindphuck myself all day long pondering the bigger picture and my existence, mundane to me is just a waste of our minds, can't we just start working on something? Making something?

Let's start putting together some mysterious text that brings about all the realizations at once in some profound way that's never been done before, similar to the tao. It's foremost purpose can be to end the suffering that comes from the irrational desires of thought. People now are plunging into complete mental disorder, and all the envy, hatred, anxiety, insecurity, and fear is being spread in the media as something normal and good on such large scales that kids minds are being poisoned by the age of 7, there needs to be real awakening, we need to win the hearts and minds and do something if we can, and before you brush this off or bluster some reason not to participate, ask yourself first, Why not? If it's possible, and it is, ?

There's 2 truths.

on the one hand, ultimately, its empty and meaningless that its empty and meaningless.
no thing is its own essence.
there is no meaning intrinsically existing.

on the other hand there's an experience of separate self or existential existence.

you are not content with non-action.

philosophically you are an Existentialist.
that means you are looking for a winning formula arising out of a set of assessments that leave a set of options.

yours is a possibility for relationship,
a set of rules separate selves fit in to in order to smooth out suffering.

Is that it?

like a flock of birds perfectly coordinated in flight.

"Existentialists generally regard traditional systematic or academic philosophies, in both style and content, as too abstract and remote from concrete human experience."

Definitely an existentialist, and I am not content with non-action at all, ... I had you up until here:

"yours is a possibility for relationship,
a set of rules separate selves fit in to in order to smooth out suffering.

Is that it?

like a flock of birds perfectly coordinated in flight."

You think there's a case for social engineering.

the necessity for a manual to be written.
an activity of having people enrolled in a curriculum of understanding launched,
an activity of coaching people in the practices and roles to be conformed to launched.
Its a formula that has people being in a coordinated relationship that takes danger out of the situation.

like a flock of birds harmoniously coordinated in a flight pattern.

a beautiful thing to behold.

Is that it?

At the moment they are conformed as can be, all I'm talking about is releasing something like a good book that might even help remove conformity, it can be in the book, again the question was "why not?" before you started on your mumbo jumbo :b Is your answer for why not a fear of creating conformity? Or are you being a neophobe*
