Sex and Guilt
Sex and Guilt
When I was listening to a song on the radio I had another epiphany about how women never take responsibility for their actions. This occurred when I was listening to the song Three Days Grace - Animal I have Become. It's a song about a guy trying to deal with what a pile of shit he turned into. Now this isn't the first time I've heard a song about a guy loathing in the fact that he knows he's an asshole, but how often do you ever hear a woman sing about what a slutty bitch she is? HA! That'll be the day...

Nick, some fresh air might do you a world of good. Take in a movie or something, you know?

Are you serious with that video clip, or did you girlfriend tell you to post it? Yeah, she looks real sincere and distraught over what a bitch she is..../end sarcasm...
Re: Sex and Guilt
I posted it strictly to poke fun at what you said, actually.
But yeah, she's celebrating it. But there are plenty of guys who celebrate "guy things," too.

Re: Sex and Guilt
Nick, you are correct. It is very difficult for most women to see imperfections in themselves, and long to be something greater. The yearning for greatness from a state of imperfection is definitely a masculine impulse, and that is why masculinized men tend to have a higher frequency with spirituality.
Men also tend to suffer much more deeply for their imperfections until they reach a state of imperfect perfection where their psyche changes as much as is possible, and they no longer suffer deeply.
Generally speaking, feminized Women suffer too, but it is more in the immediate, and it doesn't cause any lasting psychological changes. She believes she is perfect from the outset, which can cause a few problems are far as spiritual progression is concerned.
The masculine entity is a much more unstable figure from the outset, and that is why so many men self-destruct, but there is always the potential there for self-realization and enlightenment in some.

Re: Sex and Guilt
If only men started treating women as equals we might start seeing some improvement out of the female sex. How much of a difference do you think it would make? I think if women were held to the same standard as men we might see some significant improvement. Whether it would lead to the development of a soul with true consciousness is another story. I think it would more or less be a reflection of the men around them no matter how much progress they make when it comes to eliminating their feminine behavior.
Re: Sex and Guilt
The implication, of course, being that women lack a soul and consciousness by default.Whether it would lead to the development of a soul with true consciousness is another story.
Appalling.
I think I should make a one-click hotkey for the word "appalling." It might come in handy around here.

Re: Sex and Guilt
There's a reason women are more inclined to see physical flaws than character ones.
Re: Sex and Guilt
Can you substantiate that assertion?women are more inclined to see physical flaws than character ones
Personally, the primary woman in my life has little or no concern about my physical appearance, but is more than willing to point out what she sees as character flaws. I've known other women who take the same approach. Who are the women you have in mind, Dan?

Oh, character flaws in other people you mean? I was talking about in themselves.Unidian wrote:Can you substantiate that assertion?women are more inclined to see physical flaws than character ones

Re: Sex and Guilt
Then you'd need to substantiate that as well.
On what basis do you figure women are less aware of their own character flaws then men are?

How could he? He doesn't believe they have a soul or consciousness.

Re: Sex and Guilt
Wow, that'll take a week, but in passing I'll just note that one of the significant reasons is that they are conditioned that way at every step of their development. And I'm not sure it's entirely accurate to say that women see actually "character" flaws on other people; I think it's truer to say they simply see things they don't like in them. So, for them, if you, say, held a point of view that made them unhappy (e.g. not working is morally fine), that in and of itself would, to them, constitute a character flaw rather than merely something they disagreed with. That's been my experience, anyway.Unidian wrote:Then you'd need to substantiate that as well.

Re: Sex and Guilt
The vast majority fo the time, but I still catch myself treating them like women instead of men once in a while because of my emotional/sexual attachment to them. Compared to the average man though, I treat women as equals much much more often. The ironic thing is, it's not uncommon for women to get upset when you do treat them as equals.brokenhead wrote:You mean you don't treat women as equals now?Nick wrote:If only men started treating women as equals we might start seeing some improvement out of the female sex.

I do my best to treat women as equals.
Not really anything ironic about it.Nick Treklis wrote:[The ironic thing is, it's not uncommon for women to get upset when you do treat them as equals.

Are you treating them as equals, or are you treating them as if they were the same as men? There is a huge difference between the two types of "treatment," you are aware of that?Nick Treklis wrote:The vast majority fo the time, but I still catch myself treating them like women instead of men once in a while because of my emotional/sexual attachment to them. You don't think it's ironic that if you asked any woman if they want to treat be treated as equals they would say yes, and then if you actually do treat them as equals they get upset? I mean, it's no suprise, but it's still pretty ironic.DHodges wrote:Not really anything ironic about it.Nick Treklis wrote:[The ironic thing is, it's not uncommon for women to get upset when you do treat them as equals.
There is absolutely no difference. I treat men how I would like and expect to be treated, i.e. equals.brokenhead wrote:Are you treating them as equals, or are you treating them as if they were the same as men? There is a huge difference between the two types of "treatment," you are aware of that?

Re: Sex and Guilt
But are you treating women as if they are men? If you are deliberately ignoring this point, you do so at your own risk. You treat women as the equals they are. But you're not supposed to treat them like they are the same, i.e., that there is no difference between men and women.Nick Treklis wrote:There is absolutely no difference. I don't know if I'm explaining this right. Let's use the KISS method. Try treating women as if they are ladies, especially in the business world, even if you do not treat men as if they are gentlemen. Do not expect them to become buddy-buddy and engage in macho camerderie. A lot of women are perfectly cool doing that. Fine. Let them decide how they would like to be treated on the familiar - formal scale. Err on the cautious side if necessary. Women do NOT want to be treated as if they were men. And they do not want to be treated as if women are inferior. You wouldn't want a woman to treat you the way she would treat "one of the gals" or as if you were genetically less capable, would you? You would think that disrespectful. Likewise, if you go into social or business situations determined to treat women as equals because you are sick and tired of hearing them complain on Oprah that they are not treated fairly, you will come across as truculent. It's as if you had an attitude: "You wanna be equal? I'll show you equal, let's see how you like it."
"All (wo)men are created equal." Obviously that's not true! Treat each person for who they are, and the rest just happens naturally.
By and large in the workplace - and I have been in countless different office situations - women are no more of a threat to you than men are, unless of course you grab for their tits. If you behave and treat women with the respect you are telling yourself you do, you will do just fine. What goes around does come around, and in the workplace, it comes around a lot faster.

Equality means no special rights.

Even when you know a woman well - say in the workplace and you see her every day - you might, for starters, refrain from cracking jokes that involve poo-poo or bj's and avoid mentioning body-parts that rhyme with "bunt."Nick Treklis wrote:Care to elaborate on this?brokenhead wrote: Try treating women as if they are ladies,
