Dear All,

This may be of interest, and it is concerned with Transfinancial Economics but can be understood by anyone.

Of all the material at your domain, you chose to introduce yourself to us with an economics link? I'm momentarily gobsmacked.

[Scratch that; I just noticed your other thread in the main forum.]

Whatever, it'll never get off the ground. Lets start with Greenspan, who noted that it wont matter how much money you throw at healthcare for everyone if there are not enuf nurses to deliver it. There is a shortage already.

And you cant "educate" a nurse without that person having the *innate* intuitive skill to recognize distress. That skill is written in the DNA, and you cant put it there with 'education'. I saw a panel of nurses discussing the shortage, and one of them actually came out with the point that, if what they want are more competent nurses, they will have to give birth to the girls themselves. Nobody on the panel tried to dispute the fact.

"Head Start" and all the other educational opportunity programs may be necessary, but are not sufficient. As in so many other professions, art, music, math, you either have the gift, or the patient gets bad care. You cant throw money at it. The nurses I know are basically content with the money they make. Pay more money, and you'll attract women from business... who dont really giva fuck about the patients.

Same deal with teachers. You need people who like kids. It comes from our hominid evolution, where there were witches doing what we now call 'case management' to raise the kids of incompetent parents to maximize genetic diversity in small gene pools that we all descended from. But ever since the birth control pill came in, the nurses, teachers, social workers, & therapists have used it thinking they could teach the craft to the client classes.

They were wrong about that. And after a couple generations of the less talented breeding faster, the social safety net is about to come apart- at the very time when the last generation of nurses, teachers, et al, born at the onset of birth control, are thinking about retirement. The panel of nurses I saw on TV has every right to be worried. One MSW I know is still working long hours every week at 69 cause they cant find anyone to replace her.

Neither capitalism, nor socialism, is going to solve this problem.

Dear All,

i) Dan Rowden......at first sight there is no obvious connection with economics, and esotericism. However, money itself can be seen as a form of "energy", and has philosophical dimensions not fully appreciated. In other words, it has a deeper esoteric reality to it.

Another project to appear onsite (apart from MDS) is my Advanced Voice Instrumental Music (AVIM); An Avant Garde Theory. It claims that the human voice can effectively reproduce instrumental sounds that can spontaneously be turned into musical compositions. It is not to be confused with the work of Vocal Sampling, the House Jacks, and the Swingle Singers who merely copy what exists (such as the 1812 overture, or the James Bond theme by means of the voice!!!).

ii) Tomas......I do not see why you have problem with the self-portrait, and no I cannot do yours psychially.

iii) Daybrown.......you are right to a point. It all really depends on HOW money is actually used. It could for example be utilised to forward gene research...and perhaps with some biological modifications it would be possible to create more "caring" nurses. Sounds rediculous but you never know!! Ofcourse, this is bordering onto a very emotive subject....eugenics which brings up in most peoples mind Hitlers attempt to create a super race.

I also feel Transfinancial Economics has a good chance of becoming reality simply because it can work with banks, and corporations rather than against them...

i was encouraged last nite watching Nova, "Ghost in the Genome" piece about epigenetics, which outlines previously unknown environmental factors, and some intergenerational effects that are handed down, but not in the DNA. Methyl tags are also handed down with, not in, the DNA, kinda like ticks on a dog, that turn genes on or off.

But I dont think we have the time for this kind of longitudinal research. Smart professional women in upper management are already going to fertility clinics to select among the most promising Y chromosome lines. Whether we like it or not, *THEY * are carrying out a eugenics program. So, the only question is, whether you want to offer the same service to poor women.

Your call. I've made this point in other postings, and so far the silence is just deafening.

Daybrown...

It may be a good idea to allow a somewhat limited degree of "eugenics" but only if it is done in a way that allows freedom of choice. In a "genuine" democracy this would be acceptable if the benefits were reasonably "acceptable.". However, if it were a mandatory national, and international reality the risk of abuse would be increased hundredfold. New, and highly controversial technologies can only be phased in gradually, and in a way there is full accountability under the law, ofcourse after full consultation with the public..(ideally that is!!)

I am not quite sure how this has got anything to do with TFE.

What it has to do with TFE is the competency of the next generation and its ability to maintain the innovation needed to make *profits*, and provide a ROI. Look at the demographics. The boomers are starting to retire. Just who is it that will be running and working for the corporations their IRAs are invested in?

I'm not talking about any top down government program. Maybe you missed it, but eugenics is already going on. Smart professional women in management have looked around and realized that all the men of their rank they mite consider for mates are already married to young sexy bimbos.

IIRC, 18 months ago, the Atlantic had a rap on new genres of women's literture besides the traditional romance drivel. there's the revenge novel, where she gets back at him after being dimped for a bimbo. There's the struggle tale of marrying a divorced man, and coping with the challenge of raising the progeny of an airhead 1st wife. There's the Horatio Alger bit of the young woman going to the right college, getting the right degree, and then setting out to find the perfect.... job. Most of her classmates in that struggle are now female. The number of men capable of supporting a family in the traditional way has dramatically declined, and many now are seeing their careers destroyed by outsourcing and downsizing, with the bankruptcy and foreclosure rates freaking out the transnational financial community.

There aint no free lunch. You'd think that the smart bastards would've been able to figure out that the Laffer curve is not linear, and would have a point of diminishing returns. Money is the same as any other commodity; if there's a lot of it around for investment, then the profit on investment, same as the sales on any other commodity declines. Why didnt they figure it out? group think.

Smart women are rethinking the nuclear family model in view of all the above. Many of them no doubt know about other mothers with grown sons who have moved back in with mom. They dont want to make that same mistake, and one way to diminish that risk is to look for more promising lines of the Y chromosome to endow their own kids with. They didnt get to climb the corporate power structures by being romantic fools, and they know, that whether the husband will be around in 20 years or not, the relationship with his kids will still be very important to them.

In other threads here, 'Cui Bono', 'Suggestion', & 'Race, Gender, Sexual orientation, and Intelligence'.. you can see the worry of some fundamental economic catastrophy- that are in part due to the quality of men now being produced, the lack of economic opportunity they face, and questions about the Christian moral values the system has been based on.

One of the few things that women can do, in light of the fact that 'social security' wont be there for them later on, is to fall back on that most ancient hominid social safety net, the support of grown children. Eugenics is a simple idea for what is turning out to be a far more complex process than anyone imagined. Along with the well known, but poorly understood effect of various combinations of mtDNA and the Y chromosome, we now have reports on 'epigenetics'. http://focus.hms.harvard.edu/2006/05050 ... tics.shtml in which the genealogical record becomes much more important. Some smart women will no doubt want to take a look at the PBS Nova http://www.publicvideostore.org/product/show/30007 (Ghost in the Genes) report.

It turns out there are a host of biochemical reactions, some inherited along with the DNA, some environmental, ie, the result of dietary deficiency and contamination, that are enhanced or exacerbated depending on the DNA endowment or lack thereof. It is often the diff between having a remarkably creative happy kid who grows up to be supportive, or having one suffering with autism, ADD, ADHD, and burden as long as the mother is able to carry it. The rate of mental pathology, much of which goes undiagnosed, is so high that as these kids mature, the entire economy, locally, state, national, and global, will collapse.

And all these elegant economic theories wont be worth a pot to piss in.

Daybrown,

Eugenics in some form, or another is probably going on. So what....unless it gets out of control. You seem unnnecessarily obsessed with this subject.

I would rather look on the bright side of things. Obsession with negative interpretations of anything is waste of time when we should try to find positive solutions rather than go on with endless rhetoric that goes nowhere....and it gets boring.....yaaawwwwwn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Demographics. if the boomer retirement is to be supported by following, and smaller, generations, then each must be more, not less, competent to do the same amount of work to maintain the economy as what the boomers have handed down to them.

There's no way that the younger generation can afford to house millions of aggressive young men in prison, at the same time they support millions of elderly boomers in rest homes. Now, if you want to drag them all out to be shot, I dont have a problem with it. Given the choice between dozens of years in a residential care facility, and a weekly game of Russian roulette, I'd go for the latter. But I dont wanna make that choice for others.

So, if you do not want to do that either, then its time to employ eugenics so that the next generation is more sane and competent, with far fewer social parasites and criminals. Education is necessary, but not sufficient.

G'day Robert Searle.

On cursory glance it looks much the same as C.H Douglas' Social Credit idea.To quote Milton Freidman by way of reply-"Theres no such thing as a free lunch"

Henry George had some goood ideas on this subject,in my view. But he doesn't seem fashionable these days.

Daybrown,

I am neither for or against eugenics. But, if something like that were to come about it must be done in an open, and accountable legal framework which should be seen to be genuine in every respect.

Ataraxia,

Yes, TFE is like Social Credit but it is not the same thing. I was amused to read the saying there is no such a thing as a free lunch. This ofcourse is blatant nonsense. To find out why you would have to read the present essay very carefully!!!!

I dont have a problem with that position, but eugenics is *already* going on! Smart professional women, disparing of ever getting a husband that meets their standards, are paying for fertility clinic services. And even being paid.

Young women in grad school can make damn good money donating eggs. Its tricky because the hormones can have psychological effects. Some women are also using in Vitro rather than just sperm donation so that they can have the zygote tested for both sex and DNA markers of challenges and endowments.

the result is a no-brainer: brainier kids that are more sociable and charismatic, *destined* to be at the top of a global Platonic republic. Whether we want legal accountability or not, we cant stop them. they can always go overseas, or even on a cruise ship on the high seas for whatever services they want.

The only question is whether lower class women, of whatever race, are going to be given the same opportunity. It aint upta me. I've be very surprised if transnationals and governments dont find ways to subsidize this for the women they find most useful with an eye on the competitiveness of the next generation in the global market. We cant stop it; the only question is whether or not to jump on the bandwagon.

I have advocated subsidy so that lower class women can have the *option* of fertility clinic services too. I think that is only fair.
