Grumbles thread - get it off your chest!

Post by Kelly Jones »

A lot of critique of the Genius Forum's approach to enlightenment, and sometimes only criticism based on the fact it's "different," has been flying around lately. I think a lot of it is a load of irrational bullshit and spite, founded on nothing but irritation. If you've got something to grumble about, stick it in this thread. Go for it! - vent that pent-up crankiness, say whatever bullshit you like, blacklist everyone you have the slightest envy for, and give your moral indignation a big feeding. Give the mood everything. Satisfy it completely. After this, the cross, cranky, grumbling mood rampant around the forum shouldn't be raving for satisfaction, disrupting constantly, being gratuitously rude, and unmistakably puerile.

Hopefully then we can concentrate on some proper arguments, cool-headed reasoning, and presenting evidence.

I'll kick it off with one of cousinbasil's latest contributions. Not picking on cousinbasil, but this seemed to be a good example.

Yes, let's have notions about all the other stuff instead

EDIT: The post that my post was a response to was deleted, so I'll just grumble about something else.

Cousinbasil's post actually does have some merit, because a lot of the "pro-genius forum" people on genius forum seem to think that they are already on a safe vantage point with regard to their thinking, whereas in reality most of them have a long way to go. As a result they have become, in their philosophising, quite like the academic philosophers and Buddhist monks that they despise, and almost established a "QRS philosophy" which they adhere to. This is truly deplorable, because a few of these people are actually capable of thought, but apparently just not enough to get themselves out of the hole they've crawled into.

The original post I wrote specifically as reaction to Alex his list where I basically reversed his wacko description of this forum while retaining much of his word structure, thereby forced to limit the explaining power. Cousinbasil was somewhat of an idiot to pick that list apart. It's like analyzing the structure of a joke: it's missing the plot!

Personally I'd like to focus on other criticasters, as Basil has still a long way to go before he can even draw his bow somewhat decently. Do we really need a seperate thread though? It seems overblown and a tad obsessive. We already have the Crucible for challlenges.

Oh, I just meant to create a space for people to grumble and twaddle. Nothing necessarily rational. Just blowing off the steam, like a place for speed-maniacs to let loose with their need for break-neck speeds.

I reckoned that if that grumbly mood were satiated a bit, then the agitation would fade a bit, and give the rational part of the mind room to play.

Also, making an effort to express a jumble of henids, can crystallise them, and so, may produce something helpful.
