It is from the experience of naked reality (suchness), reality as it is without the adornment of beliefs and concepts, that applying sound reason and logic causes understanding and wisdom to arise. But one does not cause that experience of naked reality by applying reason and logic, the naked reality is the source of reason and logic, and reason and logic are the rules for describing the functioning of the naked reality that causes understanding and wisdom to arise. How then? How to cause that experience of naked reality? The answer is clear: remove ALL adornments, including the adornments of beliefs and concepts, and the adornments of reason and logic.
Do no harm,

Re: get naked
What about the adornment of being harmless?

Re: get naked
Clyde;
Impossible! Beliefs, concepts, reason and logic, et all, IS the suchness you speak of. There is nothing to be removed, but only realized as such through reasoning, and a change of perspective achieved. Which essentially is, suchness realizing suchness; self-realization.The answer is clear: remove ALL adornments, including the adornments of beliefs and concepts, and the adornments of reason and logic.

Re: get naked
Sapius;
Not impossible in the moment, but I agree that beliefs, concepts, reason and logic, et al are not separate from the suchness of which I write. By “remove ALL adornments†I mean to be without attachment to any adornment, to neither crave nor avoid adornments, not to eliminate adornments.

p.s: David, that should answer your question as well.

It kind of sounds like if one is adorned with harmlessness, then that would mean it is covering up harmfulness. If one simply is harmless, then that is what one truly is.clyde wrote:p.s: David, that should answer your question as well.
Re: get naked
Elizabeth;
Perhaps it “sounds like†that that, but “adorned with harmlessness†means to have the quality of harmlessness.
