Don't worry, I still have some respect for you, I think.

What do you imagine it means to be a "pleasure-giver"?
You have a serious failure of mind here dejavu if you think that pragmatically testing a psychological theory is sleazier than a 40 year old man fathering 5 children with multiple women half his age. I didn't have sex with anyone and to the extent that I make friends with anyone, I'd still consider those people to be friends. Perhaps I failed to explain that I don't particularly want friends or mates. There is only two people I regularly see outside of work, one of them is my brother, the other is my roommate. I went out to do this because I was curious about the psychology of it, and since this was years ago I was still really horny. A lot has changed in me since that night, some of it as a result of that night. It was a learning experience for me and that is how I intended and interpreted it. I brought no harm to anyone and gained nothing but the experience.

Fast forward, I am still dedicated to knowledge and wisdom, even more so than ever before. I often don't post on this forum because quite frankly I'd rather read something else. This forum seems to go around in circles, with a lot of wise-asses who just try to play word games, or dogmatists who don't ever bother to think they might be wrong. Here we seem to have people who can think but use it to rationalize their desires. If you are not thoroughly concerned with the extinction of your own self, then as far as I'm concerned your opinions are completely backwards and irrelevant. I'm not concerned at all with knowing truth, I'm concerned primarily with being true. The quickest way to mess this up is to get drunk and/or laid. I know that if I sow the seeds of lust they will grow. I can, if I want to, lust and if I continue to do so it will eventually control my mind. All of this happens over a matter of minutes or seconds usually. But if I do go out to find sex, which I have - and I dated a nice 18 year old for a few months - the desire to spend the majority of my time fucking will drive my life. My life will be consumed by having sex and all the baggage that goes along with that, maintaining the emotional balance in the relationship, the expense of condoms and the potentiality of contracting an STD or causing pregnancy - this stuff still happens with condoms.

Anyway, what are we doing here? Comparing egos? It sure sounds like a lot of people here have a strong attachment to their security blankets, alcohol sex, drugs. I don't normally drink or have sex except on extreme occasions, but I do regularly smoke. I'll never ever argue that smoking is a wise thing to do or that it has any positive effects to it. I started smoking because my dad smoked and my friends thought it was interesting. In my late teens I got hooked on computer games and every time a loading screen would come up I'd get anxious and light a smoke. I end up chain smoking 3 packs a day and though I've reduced my intake to less than a pack a day, I'm still heavily addicted to the substance. Its not good and I'll never argue it is good. You are free to go out and get smashed and be a total fucking moron. Its your life and possibly others too, but that's entirely your choice and I wouldn't stop you. However, I'll never say that going out for a night of "drunken debauchery" is a good thing which is what seems to be happening on this thread. What I did was relatively harmless and it told me that this sub-culture is actually there. I can see it now, I understand the lingo and see the dynamics playing out with practiced precision. Don't kid yourself here thinking I'm sleazy, I just looked through the door into another part of our world.

Anyway, I don't know why I bother. You're probably just doing this to get your mental masturbation on.

Like I asked at the beginning of this thread, what are you being true to if not your self?

Extinction?! I guess this is where I ask you what you mean.
I think I'm getting dejavu and a grip on your handle.

I am being true to the true self. The higher self. Ultimate reality. Equivalence of form with the creator. However you want to frame it! I am becoming one with nature and that doesn't mean embracing my animal desires. I am using the unique human ability to understand reality in a meaningful context. To become one with reality one has to become selfless and so that is what is happening. The I am that is doing the doing is not the self that 'I' am, you see. It is the upper reality or nature which does it through the laws of physics and causality, which is ultimately who I am. So I pursue that identity in human form like Buddha or Jesus Christ, to the extent that a human possibly could and I am battling myself the whole way. The human mind does not consist of a singular I or homunculus so the term I applies to many different phenomena. In neurological parlance I might say that my frontal cortex is attempting to inhibit and modulate the rest of the brain which is trying to do something else. Or I could call the former spiritual and the latter a sinful nature and I could call both of them I and then still call total reality I too. My arm is me, your arm is me, its all the same I am. I'm talking about self-actualized non-dualism. Don't take it too literally because its not possible to continue to be a self and be no-self, that is foolish! But there are degrees of success in that direction. If I am not moving in that direction, then I'm not moving.

Animus wrote:The "seduction game" is simple if you have such an absence of conscience. It involves exploiting psychological pitfalls in order to obtain sexual satisfaction for one's self. Its certainly no secret.
Perhaps you have been reading me wrong.
For you, it may be all about being or becoming some sort of celibate monk who rarely goes out and does anything anymore. Meets with a brother and roommate, and then sits around, doesn't work, lives off the government handouts. About the only stuff one gets done is shit, eat, after meal ciggy and then gaze intently at the Internet. Gee, sit around and do nothing in this life and be concerned that Skip (or my adult son) are out seducing mindless broads and then hopping in the sack on the first, second, third date. Far be it that he wasn't trained to be respectful of others' human au natural get out your ya-ya's..

If 20,000 people signed up here tomorrow and began posting .. Diebert and Carl would go insane. They tend (or appear) to be control freaks, concerned that most of the posters are somehow less experienced at the world (less capable of understanding logic or whatever) than they are.

What comes to mind is when Jufa made her first post, Diebert opens up with a reply, then there's Carl making some sort of sexual wisecrack and the newly signed up Jufa is left wondering just who these self-appointed "spout wise" Genius are really about. Diebert comes back with some sort of "philosophy-bot" machine may be at the root of the matter. As usual, Carl is Diebert's self-appointed pet poodle (girly-boy) then insults the new member by insinuating that it ain't cool to open by introducing onesself on Genius. There are "rules" that Carl-the-SAM (self-appointed moderator) says, "that ain't the way we do things around here blah-bla. I make an offer to wash her feet, welcome her a little bit let her self-destruct on her own merit - not Diebert or Carl's spout wise.. Then, here's old Animus, all of about a year here on Genius stating that his ASS, Diebert's, Carl's has a better aroma and get used to it Jufa. Dejavu greets Jufa in his cavalier way .. flies on shit :-)

Seems Diebert and Jufa have come to an understanding and are now in a Genius "love fest". It's to Diebert's credit he's shifted gears (double clutched?) and noticed that Jufa's philosophy come in multi-colored rose shades.

I believe Diebert said he hasn't much time - if any - for the Men of the Infinite videos.

Or like the way Carl is on Ryan's ass that his posts (spelling, phraseology etc) are somehow not up to Genius logic. It was telling that Carl used the word "foolishness" to Skip the way he did. Does Carl see his younger self in Ryan?

My point? Employ the friend/foe button. 20,000 new members will be here, you oldtimers that are set-in-your-ways. It's a breath of fresh air to see new members posting, logic is more than the oldtimers not capable of changing their usual pattern when coming here every day looking for fresh meat to slay. Let Dan, Kevin, David decide who will be admonished apart from the old family (we the oldtimers).

Odd, one of my son's 2 minor's was psychology but is wasn't for sexual satisfaction, seduction etc. He told me once that he's had all of one (1), one-night stands, and that was at his second sexual encounter. He had masturbated once when he was thirteen about. Didn't care for the result and learned to contain himself.

There's a lot of folks (males and females) here, throughout my time here at least, that seem to spank their monkey, choke their chicken, whatever they call it, on a regular basis and call themself "celibate", yeah right.

Note to Tomas: You long-winded rant is over. Time to go...

PS - Animus, it's 8 children by 5 women (with three sets of twins, do the math - it runs on both the girlfriend's side and my family). Like I said earlier, they all get along and we haven't noticed any psychology-related problems, no domestic violence, no welfare authority visits, drug overdoses, Canadian-style drinking sprees (Cory, Ryan types come to mind). His oldest kid (age-24) is doing well, self-sufficient, helps care for the younger ones, well-trained by both mom and dad in her younger years.

And no, she hasn't slept with Tiger Woods :-/

You can tell me all the anecdotal cherry-picked horseshit you want Tomas. I'm not as stupid. Just because you and your whole family are dimwits who "see nothing wrong" with themselves, doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with you. It could just mean that you are blind.

Do you bow down and worship your son? You sure seem to idolize him a lot.

Hey, Tomas. Fuck the ignore button. That's not what this place is about. It's about logic, and part of that is pointing out delusion. If that comes across to you as being a hardass, so be it. The fact is that Ryan sees himself as enlightened, so I am doing him a favor when I show him his illogic. If he -- or you -- want to read something else into that, such as I only care about spelling, then too bad, it's your loss. I can't even tell why you are on this board, Tomas. You seem to be so proudly pro-laissez faire.

Lemme see, two other sons, one is normal .. the other has serious problems. Two other adult daughters are normal and have normal husband's who don't cheat, drunkards, junkies, etc.

The other daughter is mid-30s and still a virgin - doesn't jerk off, ain't on drugs or booze and is a regular reader (maybe a poster for all I know) here at Genius.

The other is 11-years old, so she'll have to figure that "world" out and she is the one who reads this Genius forum .. at her age, the world is hers.

-Annie-
doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with you.

Oh, don't I know :-)

It could just mean that you are blind.

-tomas-
Spiritual? blindness, yes. For me there are some good people here (and at the old site starting in 2001) who have helped immensely. Skip, Diebert, Ryan, David Quinn, Marsha, Samadhi (and his sidekick who's name I've forgotten - Maestro?), Elizabeth, Pye, Our Man-Dan, Nick, Rhett, Sue, Kelly Jones, Katy, Shah, Ataraxia, Dave Toast, Trevor, Carl, (I hate to admit it, but) Leyla, Dejavu, Daybrown, Victor, and a couple newbies like Jufa and snow bunny .. past year or two.

Physical blind? - In my left eye, yes.

-Annie-
Do you bow down and worship your son?

-tomas-
I love my seven children equally and only bowed down to them when they needed food and their diapers changed, you dolt.

His twin sister has been with the same man for 20+ years. We trained them the best we knew how to. Once they moved out they were on their own. Our troubled son had tried (asked) to move back in but we set him up in an apartment because they were told at a young age that they had to make their own eternity and settle their own life.

I'm much more in love with the grandchildren and now, great-grandchildren.

-Annie-
You sure seem to idolize him a lot.

-tomas-
He's a lot like Skip, they're going places. I like hearing their stories and he emails me a lot.

Idolize him, not at all. Live through him, and the two other sons? You betcha :-)

Methinks Annie gazes at the Internet screen too much or speed reads. I consider him to be a newbie. Wet behind the ears. Kind'uva know-it-all.

I can honestly say that I can find something of value in every member here, whether I have a personally agree with them or not, though it's true that some posters resonate with me more than others. That's only natural.

In your case, I enjoy your narratives, stories about the war and your family. I think it's important for older people to share their experiences and insight with younger generations. I'm younger than you, so I would include myself in that category...there's a type of wisdom that can only be learned through experience. Do you know how to define normal Tomas?

Do you think that its necessarily a measure of someone's quality that they are normal?

Do you think Buddha was normal for his environment?

Personally, I have a hard time defining normal outside of "what everyone else is doing" and that doesn't seem to be a very rational measure of much. This is just blatantly obvious though. I mean I've known it since I was a kid. People always said "If all of your friends were going to jump off a bridge, would you jump too?" and that made me think about how normal equated to goodness. I found it doesn't. Its very similar much the ad populum fallacy.

Oh yeah. I have an aunt like that, her son smashed 2 trucks driving home drunk from a shady bar in Drunkendouche, Alberta and she told him the 3rd one would be the last. He's a nice guy sometimes, as all people are. Sounds like you play favourites with your family quite a bit. Does it have anything to do with what you get out of them?

Is this something you need to feel? I indicated that I made a mistake. Is there some specified form of atonement you are looking for? Should I grovel at your feet and beg for your forgiveness?

Forget it, don't get hung up on something so trivial. It was just a terminological inexactitude! Now excuse me because my pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is acting up and my anterior cingulate sulcus seems to have fed-back into my superior colliculus causing a myocardial infarction.

By the way, thanks for the advice, I didn't realize that I was so poor at spelling.

Guess I should've been more succinct. I'd meant only that he's been here about a year now. For some of the longtimers, they understand my butchered English a bit better and tolerate me more than newcomers would. Somewhat as Animus said that he really only "hangs with his brother and his roommate", otherwise he doesn't look others' in the eye kinda stuff. Not that he's rude to the pedestrian on the street or going into a grocery and heaving bottles of jelly over to the next aisle. I (try to)just spend about an hour a day trolling the Internet for the new stuff. Not here to piss anyone off, with the exception of Leyla and Pye, maybe a couple others to prick at.

In your case, I enjoy your narratives, stories about the war and your family. I think it's important for older people to share their experiences and insight with younger generations.

-tomas-
I appreciate the feedback, the Internet is unlike anything before I've experienced. I always wondered what "Dick Tracy" of the 1960s would evolve into with his two-way wrist radio/tv. That was my favorite piece on the funny pages. I can't recall who wrote that strip, but the whole moon landings with all the technology stuff made for an interesting Dick Tracy comic-read.

-Carmel-
I'm younger than you, so I would include myself in that category...there's a type of wisdom that can only be learned through experience.

-tomas-
That's what I like about Animus and his in-your-face approach. The serious give-and-take that is accomplished here at Genius Forums .. and all with a minimum of heavy-handed moderation from Dan & Company. There's a few people who jump and jive but that's life :-/

Oh, yes. I use the friend/foe and have a couple people blocked. I hadn't know about it until Dan had mentioned he would use it against Mikiel on certain occasions. Much as a parent has got to get the point across that "I'm not hearing you" translates into "you will be trained my way or it's the highway". Our 11-year old daughter is at that age where the training is slowly being shifted from reverse-psychology to giving her a bit of freedom to make big-people mistakes and understand that there are real-life consequences. It's isn't tough love, but .. shit happens where/when you least expect it.

I never give up Tomas, so I won't ask you to leave. Without someone to have a difference of opinion with I might as well not even be here. As for as my concerns, I tend to be a completely honest person and I wish to hide nothing. To the extent that I can be open and honest without negatively affecting others, I will. Often that means relating personal stories, though this is also a good way of relating personally to an audience. There is so much for people to grab hold of and try to beat me with. When I talk of my childhood motor accident that messed up my head, that's basically an invitation to say "So that's your problem" to a lot of people. I get it, you know, I've heard it all before, and yet, I don't want to hide. It is what it is. My keeping things secretive won't stop them being true. Truth is just something that we all have to live with whether we like it or not. My "in-your-face-approach" is precisely because I'm not afraid of anyone's judgments. If you want to hold some event in my life over my head like its the epitome of my character, then that's your choice but it doesn't mean I have to respect it or even let it affect me. Though, I find it difficult to consistently maintain composure in environments brimming with egomaniacal banter and, as you can sometimes see I am prone to bouts myself. The flip-side of the interaction is always the way in which we perceive phenomenal content behind the text. We infer emotional states or egoic motives through the text and this can be problematic.

I speak confidently for a number of reasons. One of which is to not allow anyone any comfort. I know you attract more bees with honey, but honey is a highly viscous and sticky substance that can also trap creatures that interact with it, including the one doing the attracting. I'm not interested in making friends, except for the kind Dan speaks of in the youtube video "Spiritual Friends" This is not to say that I won't try to be pleasant and respectful.

When she bends over "to pick something up" I am ON HER. Because it feels good. Again, I would LOVE IT if I could also fuck guys, and children, and everything. But I am set up specifically to impregnate women - especially the hot ones.

I just had a few thoughts pop into my head about these two statements that I wanted to get out. In reference to the first statement you made here, first and foremost, before you can get horny about a woman, you have to believe in women. If you understand the fundamental nature of appearances and how they exist, and it sinks in deeply enough that it alters your consciousness, then you wont be able to get horny because you no longer believe in the thing that triggers it. You don't believe in men, children, or anything else the same way you believe in women, so you don't get turned on by them. Same for animals, they believe so intensely in their sexual counterparts that they never question whether or not it's rational to get horny about it, mainly because they don't have that ability. Humans do.

In my case I'd say this about myself; initially if I see a reasonably attractive women, I'll get turned on, but then my conscience naturally sets in and my initial urges subside. I think the only way my initial urges can freely go nuts is if get emotionally attached to a woman, or to put it more romantically "fall in love". I believe this is the case because only when I become emotionally attached to something, do I really start to believe in it. And as I explained, unless we believe in something enough, it loses it's ability that caused us to feel and act the way we would have in the past.

With six grown "children" out on their own it was a learning curve and each have their own predilections to deal with. On a personal level, there are a couple of them (now) that I wouldn't care to be around on a regular basis but when creating children just go with natural instinct and do the right thing.

We still foster parent but only kids, whatever the reason, from newborns to about age 7. Any older and they are pretty much set in their ways and "crowd control tactics" must be used, gentle persuasion is still a given with the younger kids though.

I'm not getting your ignorance comment. Please expand.
