What do you really want and why?
Most of you already know my answers to that, and a few of you have posted part of the answer (such as Ryan posting that he only wants to escape civilization but leaving us to assume why). If an egoless sage has no emotion, does he want anything? If so, why? It has been said that minimalism is wise, but what would the minimal be composed of? And I do not just mean in the material realm.

Everyone wants a release from limitation, a feeling of being divided and isolated. Civilization puts a pressure on people to do things that they have no interest in doing.
In response to this feeling of limitation, isolation and alienation, people do all sorts of things. They form emotional bonds with others, they work hard and rigorously intellectually, to develop a talent, wisdom and overall intelligence, they indulge in drugs, sex and entertainment....etc, etc.

As humans we are also driven by a sense of inferiority, and thus a desire for superiority.
All groups, from the klu-klux clan, the black panthers, religions, and of course the genius forum are all expressions of mans drive to become superior than that which he considers inferior.
This is a major, major factor, and it explains a great deal of human behavior.
Much of what humans do is simply a way of escaping the pressure that they feel, the pressure to become better than what they are.

i want to be free
i want to do what i want when i want without complex logistics
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free;
I wish I could break all the chains holding me.
I wish I could say all the things that I should say
Say 'em loud, say 'em clear for the whole round world to hear.
I wish I could share all the love that's in my heart,
Remove all the bars that keep us apart.
I wish you could know what it means to be me
Then you'd see and agree that every man should be free.
I wish I could give all I'm long - ing to give;
I wish I could live like I'm longing to live.
I wish that I could do all the things that I can do
Though I'm way o - ver - due, I'd be start - ing anew.
Well I wish I could be like a bird in the sky;
How sweet it would be if I found I could fly!
Oh, I'd soar to the sun and look down at the sea
Then I'd sing 'cause I'd know, yeah,
Then I'd sing 'cause I'd know, yeah
Then I'd sing 'cause I'd know, I'd know how it feels,
I'd know how it feels to be free,
I'd know how it feels to be free.

Maintaining and increasing the amount of leisure in ones life should be one of the primary goals. Growth spurts on ones consciousness can only happen through a non-occupation of mind, one must have the freedom to inquire, wonder, play, observe and be nothing.
The overwhelming burden that civilization/woman/family places on the individual makes this impossible.

Leisure = contemplation/mediation time = Happy face.
If I could pull it off I would be a hermit in the woods and grow my own food, but it is too cold in this climate so I may resort to either welfare or working part-time doing some monkey-job such as a security guard.
The more complicated society grows then the more specialized and miserable man becomes.
However I am still perplexed about the evolution of technology. At this stage technology is evil, but I am still unsure whether or not complexity can evolve to a state of simplicity.
Geese I wish I could step out of this universe and watch the big bang from start to finish to see how this story ends.

I believe that you have/will, but you forget when you are corporeal.I wish I could step out of this universe and watch the big bang from start to finish to see how this story ends.
