LOL - great humor, laying the bait and shocking the water Aaron style! Imagine if I reacted, sincerely trying to defend myself! I'd be down in the pit of ignobility with Trevor and Rory. You learn from the best playing those games.

Dan, when it all comes down to it, your intuitions are indeed correct -

I am one of the most innovative, courageous, joyful and viril souls that has ever graced the genius forum.

Aaron, it seems you've given up engaging me. You have no argument. I have completely shut you down; I think you have unconsciously realized that if you were to engage me honestly and rationally I would completely destroy you. (This bullshit about "Imagine if I reacted, sincerely trying to defend myself!" is a fucking lie. Defending your beliefs is important to understanding their truth. You don't defend your beliefs because you know you would lose.)

You're trying to stand on your higher ground. But you're a fucking liar, so you're not fooling me or anyone else here. I'm not in a trap, nor is Rory. You simply can't engage us, because you have no idea who we are, our beliefs, our talents, or what our intentions are. We are invisible to you: both me and Rory understand YOU, but you understand neither of us.
Elizabeth came out of this experience more enlightened. She has come out of the pit and is standing on middle ground.
Bullshit. Elizabeth has learned nothing. She TOLD you that she learned something, and you believed it because it coheres with your self-image.

If I may be so bold, I think she was merely insulting you.
Rory and Trevor still have some work to do. For now I will leave them down in the pit of ignobility.
No, YOU have work to do in understanding US. I have no work to do. It's already all been done, and the rest is mere action. You lie about where I am because you can't deal with me. I don't care about your flattery. It is beneath me. Your insults don't work either, because I see right through them.
However, these genius forum fools are all adults I assume, and so its time they learned a thing or two.
I haven't learned a thing from you. I classified you among my dozens of categories. The entirety of your belief system fits within mine, and each belief you have I can classify with barely a thought. I know everything you believe, and more. I know the alternatives, and the arguments for the alternatives.

The thing is, you have no conception of the weakness of women, nor the honesty to admit that the weakness is your own. Your entire belief system about others is projection through and through. You really want a lesson?

Take each and every single time you say "Woman" or "Man" or even someone's name and figure out what part of yourself you are talking about. Hell, describe the word "society" in as many words as you can. Since you are completely insular, it will describe you perfectly. And if you don't find it embarassing, you weren't honest enough. I've seen enough of you to know that if you do this properly, YOU WILL BE EMBARASSED.

I can continue. This is caused not ONLY by an incomplete knowledge of psychology, but an incomplete and inconsistent system of ethics. I was being generous when I said your ethics seems to involve "intentions", since that is merely what you would like to believe. You have no noble intentions. You care only about your self, and making your self feel good about itself. You have no vision, no goals, and no intentions. This is tragic because you obviously read Nietzsche, who LAMENTED the existence of people like you.

Your beliefs are unimpressive, nihilistic, and trashy. You treat others as your inferiors, even when you have no guarantee of your superiority. You need this superiority. You are so desperate for it that you will read this an continue to ignore it, and relegate me to the "pit". It is, by the way, sad that you have so few places to put people: on a pedestal or in a pit.

Until you start being honest -- dropping the act, the metaphors, and everything you are uncertain of -- I will continue to view you as a dishonest scoundrel. For starters, this will involve you realizing that DESPITE ALL THAT I HAVE SAID you have no clue what my beliefs are. You couldn't categorize them if you wanted to. You simply haven't been exposed to enough beliefs.
if they start to display some respect for truth, then maybe i'll will them out. But for now they stay down in the pit.
That's laughable, by the way. I could actually QUOTE passages in my replies to you that I assented to truths you stated. But since there's only 3 replies to you, anyone with an ounce of curiousity can easily scroll up and find it.

You are a fucking liar. I respect truth. You don't. You came in here as an actor, and you talk in metaphors.

I'm bringing Rory out of the pit now. It impresses me that he at one point simply began ignoring this thread. That shows great nobility on his part.

Not you though Trevor!

With you, I'm not impressed at all.

You're staying down in the pit of ignobility.

Anyway, you're too self congratulatory. :)

Have you ever watched the Colbert Report Katy?

You'll come to appreciate me better if you understand that show.

Until then you're going down into the pit of ignobility with Trevor.

He also has a hard time recognizing great satire.

Yes, I have watched the Colbert report. It is funny primarily in it's ability to restate the amazingly obvious in a humerous manner. If that is your ambition... or that is all you have... *shrugs*

When Dan said he thought he saw something in you, I tried to give you a chance - but I fear Dan was wrong. You think too highly of yourself and have yet to say anything that would prove that there is anything behind those feelings. Actually, I suspect if there were, then the feeling wouldn't be there.

At any rate, if your idea of enlightenment or wisdom is the ability to create a fictional character, and mimic television shows badly, then I will take pride in being in your ignoble den.

You have failed to earn my respect, and thus I don't really care what you think of me at all. :)

What I hear is, "You're hurting my feelings. Why can't you be like Rory who stopped hurting my feelings, and shut up instead?"

I'm not falling for this trick. I talk when I want to talk for as long as I want to talk, and whether or not YOU think I'm noble or not for doing so.

The fact of the matter is, I've completely burned you. You simply don't have the tools to launch a coherent defense. I don't give you a "noble feeling" because I'm not giving you a glowing review, but that has nothing to do with whether or not I'm noble -- or correct -- or not. That has entirely to do with the fact that your ego can't sustain a continued onslaught. You simply can't match me point for point, and dismantle my argument. It is too true, and too close to your heart.

At least, if you are reading what I am writing, you can mull over it at a less embarassing time. I fully understand that if you were to admit that I'm correct now, you'd have to shatter your illusions in front of everyone. However, even this is not going to shut me up, because well... your problems aren't mine. Even if you can't muster up enough sense to reply to me, you can still read my writing.

Actually Trevor, deep down inside, there is nothing I would like more right now than to seriously address your replies.

Actualy, I feel engaging in serious discussion with you is really your only prayer of being emancipated from the pit of ignobility.

Why havent I engaged yet in a serious discusison then, if thats what my heart longs for most?

Well I'm a busy man these days. I only have time for quick posts.

It's just so much easier and less time consuming to make the little comments that I've been making. They come so easily and so mirthfully.

Yes, and that is weakness, my femininity - - a weakness I have yet to suffer for though - lol

I've been splitting my sides for days writing these hilarious posts, and its been double the hilarity for me to read the replies that I get back, especially from the pit dwellers.

Keep a look out for me Trevor. A serious counceling session for you, conducted by me lies in the not too distant future.

Some Americans are really cocky, shallow, full of themselves - thinking they know something and are special, when realy they are not.

The crude mentality of a majority of people in America cast a bad light on the otherwise good willed, noble hearted exceptions such as myself.

Aaron,

Thanks, but no thanks. I have a real therapist, and his only concern is that I don't exercise enough.

From you, I'd rather hear some real philosophic insight, or an original thought. In fact, I'd like to hear anything genuine, spoken without the metaphors. All this talk about "nobility" and "pits" and "fishing" seems like a cheap attempt at hiding something that is far from impressive.

I think your goals are self-defeating: their consequences are inadequately considered. Since when I write, I actually have insight, originality, and purpose -- the very things that you are most obviously lacking -- you will be the one benefitting from conversation with me.

This leaves me asking you again: what is your purpose?

You said you were coming to this forum to gain a teacher, but you also seem to like showing off. At one point, you said you want to both teach and learn. Regardless, learning and teaching are not activities that can be done forever. It would disregard the very real possibility that every person can learn everything. What then? Find a new purpose? That would be an admission that your intentions are not already perfect.

If your purpose is simply to learn and teach, then you are aimless. Besides, your purpose is obviously NOT to learn, since when I tell you things you do not want to learn, you avoid conversation entirely -- replying to everyone but me. There is quite clearly another goal that you have, and it has nothing to do with the objective acquisition of knowledge. What is this purpose?

The story closest I can figure out is that tank rhymes with yank.
Aaron wrote: Hey, who is that in your avatar?

In my avatar is a woman from an old TV show from the '90s called seaQuest. She's a scientist and generally very down to earth. At one point, the show did a Halloween special in which she got posessed by a ghost, put on a wedding dress that belonged to said ghost and started dancing around acting like she was at a wedding and stuff. Then she gets unposessed and looks around like "WTF am I doing? This is like... the opposite of who I am!"

The point is really that while our posession is not done by literal ghosts, we are all haunted by the unconscious desire to well... be that girl. At any rate, when I created the icon, I was frustrated because my boyfriend kept buying me neclaces despite the fact that he should know darned well that I refuse to wear jewelry. I continue using the icon because I decided it really fit me more generally than just in that situation.

The quotation on it is from the musical Wicked where the character laments that she isn't the perfect beautiful girl that the boy she likes wants to be with. It starts out being a lament, but is the changing point in the play, when she goes from trying to become a normal woman and fit in to society to where she goes to realizing that she's been intentionally keeping herself blind to the world and has to follow her beliefs based on facts that she has instead of blindly following along.

I know, I know - - its so true. That’s the reason me and my father don’t speak anymore. He so doesn’t understand me.

At any rate, when I created the icon, I was frustrated because my boyfriend kept buying me necklaces despite the fact that he should know darned well that I refuse to wear jewellery.
What an ass. Did you dump that fool?

Sounds quite a bit like the situation that Trevor probably found himself in before he landed on genius forum.

I'm joking friends! I'm just playing.

I realize that a bit of genuine seriousness and friendship is needed -- I'm just too tied up to really open my heart right now.

Katy, I remember Seaquest and enjoyed it while it lasted. There's only so many adventures they could come up with in that ocean. It was probably canceled not too long after that episode with the wedding dress. I am impressed by your ability to come out of such an episode possesed by such thoughtfullness.

Trevor. Please have patience - - I've been in a silly mood all last week and it seems to have carried over. When it ends, I will truly begin the great work. I will begin with you.

But for now, I am needed elsewhere in rather heroic sort of sense. Seriously.

A 300 pound girl down the street wants to know what love is......

And I am one of the few who has the balls to show her.

(keep in mind, I'm only 145 pounds)

Well, it lasted two years after that episode... but it was pretty ridiculously stupid for the next 2 years. Something about man eating plants and resurrected 200foot crocodiles... Nonetheless, the show was excellent while Spielburg maintained creative control.

At any rate, thanks :)

Someone might be quick to snidely remark: yes, much like Aaron's first thread.

And then someone might want to add: he didnt suddenly get lame quickly, he was lame from the very start.

If you think this, or want to agree to this - then you just dont understand Aaron.

This animation will help you understand.

understanding Aaron

The animation shows Aaron zooming very close to the sun, very close to God - -- but then being thrown back out into a slower trajectory, further from the sun.

This thread was like that. At one moment very close to God, very intense. But now I feel my self leaving God and heading out into the dark.

Aaron will make his way back to the sun. He will be warm and joyous again.

But for know he has some serious thinking to do.

And maybe this picture will help bring some understanding of Aaron:

a good metaphor to describe aaron

You have misinterpreted.

If I have overcome my attatchment to a sexual partner, parents, friends, self image, food, sex, reputation - - then I have overcome that which leaves me bewildered, frightened, and craving.

I think you simply misread.

Which is ok, no worries.

I'd like to take this a little further:

There are not all of these seperate things to overcome. There is only one thing that is to be overcome, and that one thing manifests as attatchment to all of these so-called seperate things.
