But yes, if she became too much of a compromise, I would end the whole thing.
it already is you are just being tempted

haha, that’s hilarious. I wonder if Kevin will change my name from Ryan to The Cosmic Gigolo.

sky, just think of me as a superhero to my sex. Think about it; historically women have used their beauty to live off the sweat and hard work of dumb men for eons and eons so now its our turn.
i will think of you as a superhero if you resist this temptation

and remember i am one of those women who do not use my beauty i use my brains instead

because guess what men are so eager to please women especially beautiful women that you can ask them for anything and they will try to please you even if it is not sexual nor is the reward sexual

i am trying to get dell who already gave me a free computer to get together with bose to design the computer i want so we will see if my theory holds cause if i sell that project i am instantly free

if i succeed i may just give you a grant

no strings attached

I dont believe you, I think you're not being completely truthful. How old are you? perhaps after a women goes through menopause then the urge may subside, but the organism is programmed with it and if you are still in your twenties, it is highly unlikely that sexual desire has been completely ended.

I suspect that you believe that an enlighened person is supposed to have no sexual desire so you are projecting your ideal onto us.

I suspect that sexual desire is a necessary biological urge that never goes away completely. No sages have ever documented such a thing.
i am still in my twenties till september 25th

elizabeth is right

women fall in love for different reasons than men

i live on south beach you would think there was an ordinance that you had to be buff to live here

i will tell you how i became celibate

i had a bf who was really into pornography so even though i had been attracted to him i got less attracted cause it was a turn off for me

we lived together for years without sex and he treated me beautifully

so i know that there can be love without sex

so when i stopped being sexual with him i thought 'i will wait for the right man'

but though you will not believe me celibacy is surprsingly pleasant

in fact it is quite sensual

so i stumbled into by accident

also the way guys approach me authentically adds to my being turned off

now if i tell you i am a vegetarian and not only have no desire to eat meat but the very thought grosses me out would you believe me

i am not comitted to celibacy necessarily forever but i cannot even imagine what it would take what qualities a man would have to have to atrract me

a man has billions upon billions of sperm

a woman hundreds of eggs

woman as a general rule from my experience are not so vulnerable to the purely physical

a woman can be entranced by character

i used to be be 'in love' with peter jennings i truly miss seeing him every week day

and i would love to have time one on one with bill gates because of his brilliance in his earning and then giving away billions

but if i knew him and he ever hit on me i would be seriously disappointed

Lust is lust, whether it be for sex or silk pajamas doesn't make one more or less of a slave to it. Now, do you still maintain that you are absolutely free from lust? You never lust for a contract from Dell? You never lust for a back massage? You never lust for a delicious dinner? You never lust for a comfy bed to rest in? Do you realize that by claiming lust has no hold on you what-so-ever, you are either brain damaged or the most perfectly enlightened sage in all of human history. Let's be honest, you are neither of those and your boasting about being free from sexual desire led you to make a claim you had no business making.

From my experience, women are concerned with personality to the extent where they want a man with power, position and they want a man who gives an image that he is important, special, and basically a hero. Women want a man who is somebody, they are usually not attracted to genius because a genius by nature is nothing. So If the man can give the woman the image that he’s a ‘hero’ or ‘somebody’ than she’ll sleep with him.

And from my experience women love their sex just as much as men. Some of my past girlfriends many moons ago were nymphomaniacs. In many of my relationships I was the one who couldn’t keep up with their sex drive.

Do you realize that when a man is hitting on you, it is just a mechanical response and he is not choosing to do so? Sexual desire is involuntary. I do not choose to feel sexual desire when I am in the company of women, it just comes agaisnt my will.

Don’t get me started on Bill Gates, He isn’t brilliant. he stole 95% of Windows XP from other companies, he put dozens of other companies out of business through ruthless business tactics. He only gave away money out of guilt because everyone in the industry despises his immoral business practices.

yes i should have made it more clear that it is sexual desire that does not lure me

it is a matter of semantics i think of lust as sexual

that is the only statement i was actually making

and it is not boasting anymore than it is not boasting that i have no desire to eat fish or meat or chicken

and as a matter of fact as you already know i have an appetite problem so no i don't lust much for food either

i think of the freedom that a contract from dell would give me but if not dell it could be some other venture

i may lust for the adventure that freedom allows that excites me

back massages unfortunately lead to other non back areas

it is a common enough ploy in fact it was used last night

comfy bed quilty as charged

silk is problamatical since i learned they boil the silkworms so no more silk

and who are you to say i made a boast i had no business making

i was talking about sex the best you can do is 'get' me for incorrect use of language

anyone truly celibate knows it is no boast because the positive benefits are a surprsing delightful discovery an inner placid lake

it was you who interpreted my post about sex though i did use the word lust into all forms of comfort

remember nick i have not signed up for 'genius' as defined here

i never said large grant but no problem you can delete that statement i wouldn't give you a dime sweatheart indeed

but if there are so many on your waiting list then why is ms. rich such a temptation

and if your experience has been with highly sexed woman that you had difficulty keeping up with do you not think that this might not have some relevance in your applying this to women in general

oh yeah i will ask directly does ms. rich expect want desire crave sex as part of your arrangement

you know there is an interesting story i think you should read

the rich boy by f. scott fitzgerald

http://www.gutenberg.net.au/fsf/THE%20RICH%20BOY.html

it begins thus

Begin with an individual, and before you know it you find that you have created a type; begin with a type, and you find that you have created--nothing. That is because we are all queer fish, queerer behind our faces and voices than we want any one to know or than we know ourselves. When I hear a man proclaiming himself an "average, honest, open fellow," I feel pretty sure that he has some definite and perhaps terrible abnormality which he has agreed to conceal--and his protestation of being average and honest and open is his way of reminding himself of his misprision.

There are no types, no plurals. There is a rich boy, and this is his and not his brothers' story. All my life I have lived among his brothers but this one has been my friend. Besides, if I wrote about his brothers I should have to begin by attacking all the lies that the poor have told about the rich and the rich have told about themselves--such a wild structure they have erected that when we pick up a book about the rich, some instinct prepares us for unreality. Even the intelligent and impassioned reporters of life have made the country of the rich as unreal as fairy-land.

Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft where we are hard, and cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand. They think, deep in their hearts, that they are better than we are because we had to discover the compensations and refuges of life for ourselves. Even when they enter deep into our world or sink below us, they still think that they are better than we are. They are different. The only way I can describe young Anson Hunter is to approach him as if he were a foreigner and cling stubbornly to my point of view. If I accept his for a moment I am lost--I have nothing to show but a preposterous movie.

Depending on the woman and the circumstance. More often she will have sex with a guy even if she is absolutely sure that he is only "somebody" to her. Often the male accomplishes this by just making her feel like she is somebody special to him, and it usually works until the female has enough experience to realize that it's all lies, and that men will spew out whatever he thinks he has to say just to get her to have sex with him.

Men do use prostitutes more often than women, so I guess that a man is more willing to sleep with a "nobody" that someone they consider to be a worthwhile human being, right CP? I mean, right Ryan? Of course those prostitutes tend to be women, so the men they sleep with are nobody special to them, it's just a job.

Yes, but somebody to her is always somebody in other people’s eyes as well. She wants her man to be accepted by her family, friends, community etc and because the genius is usually a solitary misfit then this sort of courtship ritual is doomed to fail.

I was being facetious, ms rich is the only woman offering me the promise of wealth. Actually keep your dell money in a safe place, there are Cosmic Gigolos on the loose you know.

Luckily her libido is fairly dormant; if she had the sex drive of some of my old female companions I'd have to call the whole thing off,

Some generalisations on some rich women behaviourisms

Women are used to getting back far more than they put in. A woman with a rich inheritance is even more used to this. She might adopt a benevolent attitude, but she will protect her money as best she can, and it will all serve her. She will be accustomed to people trying to leech off her, in particular, to men trying to suck her into loving them. Women know they are prone to this, so they are ever more watchful. A rich woman may want a handbag man, a muse, or even a dud so she doesn't fall for him, but she will treat him like a handbag, putting him back in the cupboard when she's had enough, probably never to see the light of day again. She may become attached to expressions of her power, she may flirt and tease and turn men on, but she won't let it go too far. With all this power, she will look for the most prize of men to see if she could catch him also. A philosopher type, oh how very nice. She can turn on the huncky men any day, but to conquer a thinker is very nice. But its probably all a tease. Maybe, she really is after a rock, but does she have a daddy? - he can do that job. Or is she rebelling? - might Daddy do another kind of job? If the parents hold the purse-strings, the decision will be theirs, and they won't settle for a dud.

Sky,
Thank you for letting me speak for you. One of my self-control practices is in not speaking for others, so I appreciate the indulgence.

Interpretation:

"Lust" commonly only refers to sexual desire. Although a less common but acceptable use of the term is "strong desire," most people do not interpret it that way.

This means she was using the common form of English, not the specific demarcation of semantics that is used for precision of communication as is commonly practiced (although not perfected) on this forum.

I agree, but you used the generic statement "Lust has no hold on me", which would then signify hypocrisy judging by your above statement. Of course, you only use the world lust as a means to describe sexual desire, shame on me for not being most familiar with your selective semantics...
Elizabeth Isabelle wrote:"Lust" commonly only refers to sexual desire. Although a less common but acceptable use of the term is "strong desire," most people do not interpret it that way.
Although I agree lust is most commonly used to describe a strong SEXUAL desire, in my experiences it is by no means out of the ordinary to hear and/or use the word lust to describe a strong desire for something else besides sex.
Elizabeth Isabelle wrote:This means she was using the common form of English, not the specific demarcation of semantics that is used for precision of communication as is commonly practiced (although not perfected) on this forum.
Well if one doesn't see a need to use semantics as a means of communicating most efficiently, a more detailed explanation as to what they are refering to is a fair expectation. I think everyone, including myself, ought to feel obliged to do so, just out of respect. One should also expect to be scrutinzed when making bold statements such as "Lust has no hold on me".

close enough - "a key" would be closer

To be able to laugh and speak without fear while not hiding away in a safe place is a rare philosophical attainment. Congrats to you and Trevor, Cory and Angel for coming out into the open and attempting to reach it.

i laugh every time i hear david boast how lofty he is or words to that effect which btw is quite often

because i know without a doubt that enlightenment is not prideful it is humble in the extreme

but i don't feel exalted (above him) i feel compassion because for all his self credit and self admiration i think he is nowhere near enlightenment and he tries so hard to convince himself that he is and he wants to be so badly because he thinks it makes him 'superior' to his fellow men

if i accumulate enough humility and compassion i might end up exalted but i won't think of myself that way

because it would be oxymoronic

I agree, UG was incredibly sloppy in this regard. He possessed a certain degree of wisdom, but it was almost as if he couldn’t be bothered to go the extra distance and eliminate all imperfections in his behavior and teachings. He assumed he was ‘there’ when he still had work to do. Perhaps this happened because he reached a state where he was no longer suffering and he confused this achievement with the end result of enlightenment, when in fact he needed to continue to expand his reasoning abilities, end untruthful behaviors and work out his teachings into something a little more coherent.

There was no boasting there. You have misread the situation, just as you misread the forum generally.

I was making the serious point that openly exposing oneself to the world while remaining truthful, joyful and free is a far greater attainment than, say, cowering behind pseudonyms and laughing anonymously at other people. The former requires great commitment to truth, individuality and courage; the latter is furtive and cowardly, akin to laughing at figures of ridicule from the safety of a crowd.

because i know without a doubt that enlightenment is not prideful it is humble in the extreme
The enlightened person is humble towards the truth, and because of this he seems arrogant to the rest of the world.

By contrast, the fake gurus, such as the Dalai Lama, put on a show of being humble towards other people, while arrogantly laughing off the truth.

see what i mean david you always have to be superior to somebody

show me where the dalai lama has arrogantly laughed off the truth - not that i am claiming the dalai lama as the embodiement of enlightmement nor am i not - i am completely neutral

however you have called him a fake and arrogant

why was that necessary

how does denigrating anyone in any way make you superior

does no one else here see the fallacy in that need to feel superior as a flashig neon sign of non enlightenment

and i am not laughing now david

i feel really sad for you

so let me get this straight

anyone who agrees with you is enlightened and anyone who does not agree with you is not enlightened

is it that simple

could that possibly by the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth

Again, you are misreading the situation. My purpose, always, in all matters, is to highlight the true path to enlightenment. And a part of this involves highlighting what this path isn't.

For example, donning robes, smiling and bowing at people, and babbling sweet meaningless platitudes in the hope that no one will take offense isn't enlightened behaviour. It is pandering to what is emotional and petty in people in order to remain popular. It is fakery.

show me where the dalai lama has arrogantly laughed off the truth - not that i am claiming the dalai lama as the embodiement of enlightmement nor am i not - i am completely neutral
He constantly pushes the truth away in order to preserve his attachment-ridden lifestyle as a politician and religious leader. He never attacks the world's falseness in any significant way. never attempts to turn people's minds to the Infinite, never speaks the truth in any situation. And just to rub it in, he does it all with a big grin on his face.

however you have called him a fake and arrogant

why was that necessary
He represents a false path and many people are fooled by him.

how does denigrating anyone in any way make you superior

I have no interest in being superior or inferior to other people. Such concerns do not interest me. That is your game, not mine. My only concern is speaking the truth and highlighting the path to enlightenment.
