sorry, I have never taken ecstasy, so I can't say which one is better (ecstasy or acid), but I would prefer acid because there is no evidence of deteriation on the brain with acid, while there is such evidence with ecstasy. I would probably try ecstasy anyway if given the opportunity, but I have no access to it at the time.
2 times I took speed, which is considered the "small brother" of xtc.you can think normally, the mind doesn't change much, the mentation remains .your heart hits the speed pedal basicly,so you become pumped up.always ready to go.it doesn't do much more.philosophizing is no problem.
the first time I took too much, couldn't sleep 2 nights in row,so the day after that I was a mess.
In any case, I believe every high is attainable without the use of artificial substances such as the chemicals we are discussing, but sometimes you need to take measures into your own hands, and that occurs when you become extremely bored. anyway, a word to the wise is to avoid paranoia at all costs, especially with Halloween coming up.
[/quote]
indeed,in my case that would be spacecake, tried it about 4 times and always ended up bad.I completely loose control, one time really paranoia,I was hallucinating things that weren't happening, literally!it completely destroys my concentration.the day after that I had to work and a job that normally takes about 15 minutes took me about 1h because was constantly forgetting what I was doing,so had to start my thinking all over.

of mushrooms I have only but good words.if there ought to be a drug I recommends, definately muchrooms(mexican).took that about 5 times.
the feeling is glorieus, pure euforia.first hour, pure joy and laughter.after that it gives creative impuls, not that you would become much better(recorded music under it) in what comes out of the body, but the vision gives a fake affectiveness;an awsome appreciation for the universe.

Is an artificially induced appreciation for the universe really worth much in the end? I don't really think so. I mean, I like shrooms, but I won't pretend they have any real use beyond amusement.

Used to hang out with a "pagan" newagey crowd in high school and a lot of them tried to justify smoking pot as a spiritual experience. When you asked them to explain they sounded even nuttier than your average newagey person.

you literally eat poison,so I do not recommend it on the daily menu.
drugs at its best removes an effect, not the fundamental cause.for wisdom, change and mutation drugs are not the solution, but love for the self is.
nevertheless if you are seeking for beauty, mushrooms help you;reality is your only truth, and he who be-lives his truth can make a reality.

on drugs you partially lose control and we know about it.however, they stimulate your reality and I myself have experienced that it can give better spiritual experience.
release from evil is heavily influenced by aesthetics. few people realise this.

Basically mushrooms are easier to find than acid, so that's why people take them more than acid. it is also losing some momentum to new age psychedelics like ecstasy. i don't put speed in the same category as psychedelic drugs. i believe it is more like cocaine, but obviously drugs have different effects on all people, so it can be hard to categorize all of these stronger drugs. rule of thumb, no main lining...

Ms. Acid is fundamentally correct though a bit inarticulate.

You can use LSD to discern the fundamentally ethereal/spiritual nature of reality. Such a tiny quantity (50 micrograms) is just a catalyst to unlock the chemicals already in your own brain. Mushrooms are not as deep, the only thing comparable is Peyote. I also find that nitrous oxide provides a rather short but deep visit to the edge. The primary issue with using these kinds of vehicles at the present time is the almost complete lack of training/preparation in the proper use. It is not something to do at a party, it is a trip to the center of the self. LSD is like a very harsh teacher, if you have any skeletons in your cranial closet then they will be blasted right in your face, whereas Peyote is a much more gentle and forgiving guide. It's kind of a lazy man's way to find God, but in this day and age anything that lets you see past the curtain is a plus.

That's actually a remarkably accurate way to phrase that, as nitrous oxide will bring a person either to the edge between life and death or kill the person. It should only be used by a well trained anesthetist or anesthesiologist - and never by a person on themselves. That's easily the deadliest way to trip in terms of probability of getting to where you want to go versus death.

I'm with Elizabeth on this one. Nitrous oxide ain't no entheogen.

I was gong to try peyote once, but that is just the bitterest stuff on the planet. I couldnt hack it.

I'm not aware of any mortality statistics from the use of N2O2, if you have any I'd be interested in seeing them. When we were young and stupid we'd slip ito the dairy section of the supermarket and inhale it from the whipped cream cans.

The beauty of Peyote, besides the gentle quality of the teacher, is that you really have to want to "go there", it is an ordeal to eat for sure and nausea is part of the deal. LSD is too easy, too casual, there's no preparation or commitment required so the "trip" is easily cheapened.

All cultures have means of taking people out of the realm of everyday consciousness. Sleep and other physical deprivations, isolation, drugs, interesting enough the intimate presence of death will blow you out of your day-to-day thought patterns. Even alcohol will work. The fundamental issue is intention and the goal.

When I did LSD back in the early 70's ("it's the Real Thing") I was overwhelmed and really had no idea what was going on. Fortunately I picked up Carlos Castaneda's books and it was Don Juan's use of hallucinogenics to make Carlos aware of the other reality that gave me some idea what it was all about. IMHO modern Western culture is so far removed from spiritual awareness that use of drugs as a teaching tool seems almost necessary.

That coffee, the little brother of coke, and the famed cigarette, a toxic waste dipped leaf.mhhhh talk about altered states, whow!!

j/k.

LIfe is the way it is modernized 'reality' what it may be atleast in the ultra urban technoscientific realmscape that many people live in these days is a questionable, basis, for a fully operational mind in the sense of evolution.

If we started in the woods and worked are way to the skyscrapper how exactly does that mateiral enviornment effect our primal instincs, on that same note what is the meaning of life.

Is nueroscience and end all what about factual history? Are we goal oriented or senation based, or both, or neither?

I may or may not have done drugs, everything is a chemical to a chemist to a nuclear physisitic it may be energy or forces, to a mystic anima or what have you.

Neurochemically do we not still perceive the world as it is, but we are detached from the world others veiw because we have a different chemical basis, that too leads to the concept of chemical imbalances. Personal change seperate from the rest of 'society' thus the doctors claiming delusion, although the experience is chemically based, not necisarily based on the actual physical spacial occurance.

I have heard many different views of the acid experience, one person just got tired and went to sleep, another forgot how to breath, another saw a ripple in the air with things in it. There is all a logical reason why those things happen, it is brain activity, or stimulation of some exchange that may only occur in certian trance states or dreaming.

THere are many perspectives to take on the use of acid or other drugs, and many drugs are all situational. Bad tripping or good tripping or what have you.

Personally I feel people should have the choice to do what they would like with themselves, but when it involves other people then it is a different story, we need to be aware of the world around us, you have to be in a safe environment. I've heard terrible stories, and the drug can be dangerous, but I"ve also heard stories about people getting into accidents driving or skiiing etc.. People take risk activities irregardless some have no issues some do, it is part of the stake in the experience.

There are many 'intelligent' people who have done acid, by intelligence i mean successful technologiest and other people of reknown, not meant on any basis of actual intelligence as in my opinon everyone alive has 1 IQ, everyone dead has 0.

I have no desire to do acid, there is too much negative information in my knoweldge base about it, spinal cord, flashback, bad source, self harm, vegetation, etc.. There are lots of 'englightening stories' or the chance to experience something you have never experienced before, a change in reality, your imagination manifesting stronger in a waking state than ever before, an adventure in an otherwise bland and unchanging life.

Life iis all how you live it. I find nothing wrong with doing acid, I just have no desire to do it. I may not be a good drug person anyway, I was repressed to much as a child for me to have good drug experiences I surmise except perhaps MDMA, but that has to be taken with a good balance else memory issues and emotional neutering occurs. I think drugs whether natural or synthetic can be good, you just need to know how to use them properly. I don't encourage drug use, but I think that bad tripping people on or not on drugs is the wrong stance to take in life. We are hear to make things better for people not worse.

My drug is life - it is a long trip, may even seem timeless, I'm really looking forward to the end of it, the older I get the more it sticks in my mind, reality can only hold out so much longer before it collapses.. but I reationalize, that is imposble, science will come around and extend my life for a few billion years just so I cant have a natural death and be able to or not laugh to myself and go, so that was life, what the heck was that about? Instead the universe will grow dark, and perhaps I'll sit there and go,. where is that tab?? WHOA ... let there be light.. and these was light!!!

anyway.. a banana tastes better than most acid I would geuss, .. historically psychedelic drugs have been around since the dawn of plants that contaied psychedelic chemicals.. obviously humans enjoy doing things with their mouths and eventually started eating plants, and rotten grains.. anyway... so it seems to continue.. don't ask me why it happens that would take a theisis and eventually an essay or paper 1000000 times the size of this post, and you'd have to call me a doctor after.

I know this was a warm fuzzy post to share your drug experiences. All I can say is... I HAVE NO IDEA what drugs I did, if any, I don't need to know, I don't wanna know, AND I have no intention of divulging it in a world that will shove a needle up my as or blow my head of if I resist the indoctrination.

Have a good day all.

Let's see, a couple things about acid I should add. The first time I took it, I had no idea what it was, and I didn't even expect anything to happen to me because I was just eating a cracker. I was blown away by how strong it was. I think that someone made a good point that your preconceived notions of what you are doing is important. There are two main names for acid, acid and lsd. I had heard all this crap about lsd, and I would have never taken it if I had known I was taking lsd because I knew it was supposed to be terrible for you, but I was just taking something called, "acid" so it sounded harmless, and later I put two and two together that they were the same thing. I realized how crazy it is about the propaganda out there determining for us things we should and should not do. my first experience with acid/lsd was soo positive that it changed my whole outlook on things. I knew it had done nothing bad to me, even though I had gone off on an insane experience for 12 hours, and then it was back to normal, but I felt normal, and I had just had this wonderful experience, so I felt better than before. It was like I had just gone on a long vacation, and I could recommit myself to the menial day to day routine without worrying that I had been deprived of something that others were enjoying. I have also had bad trips, but when you recover it's just like you are relieved to have come back to normal, so another way to look at it is this. take acid (or shrooms or whatever) from time to time, and then you will come down, and you will realize you have just gone through this major experience, and you can be proud of yourself for conquering that experience, whether it was positive or negative. Acid is not a dangerous drug, unless you are a weak person, and you are going to kill yourself because you are feeling depressed while you are tripping, because it is possible that you will feel depressed if you go on a bad trip. however, i believe most trips are good trips, unless you are naturally a stiff, and then you will see just how bad the life you are going back to is when you come down, but if you are a stiff to begin with, you aren't going to be taking acid in the first place, so it all works out.

one other point, i believe drugs like acid are ideal. it is something you ingest, so you aren't going to have a whole bunch of shit up your nose to cause problems there. the other thing that make it ideal, is it is not a medication that you have to take all the time. you take it once, and then you return to your normal state, so you are not going to have to worry about being "off" because of the medication. swallow one drop of acid, and then you are back where you started 12 hours later, and you will have done something extraordinary, like having taken a trip to honolulu. it is possible to underdose with acid, and you will feel nothing. I don't know about overdosing. I've never done it. I suppose if you drank a gallon of it, you might have some lingering effects. however, acid is one of the most highly tested drugs ever, and there are no proven ill effects of the drug. there are just witch tales which really only serve to support the government's legislation against the power of lsd, and they have legislated against it for their own selfish reasons, which is to say, they don't want people to be feeling as good as you can feel when you are on lsd, because then you might not want to be their 9-5 slave. you might aspire to a higher government with authority based on something larger than the distribution of labor and industrial maximization. of course, people are by and large content to live here, but that is only because they don't know of the possibilities that have been denied them. they merely follow, and they are oblivious as their growth has been stunted. we must rise above our government and branch out from there if we are going to move forward. the privatization of authority is the path to enlightenment, and from there we will begin to circumvent the established authority.

of course, these are only my opinions, and this is my thread, so i figured i might as well add something else, since people are posting in it.

Hey EI,

I recognize that link from when I used to research psychedelics. Looks like it has been updated since I would go there, and still a valuable resource...

Thanks,

A couple of friends and my brother took some bromo-dragonfly (Bromo-benzodifuranyl-isopropylamine) on the supposition that they were taking acid. Instead of tripping for the expected twelve hours, some of them were totally gone for two days. I guess the moral is to get your stuff from a source you can trust. People who actually know something about what they're selling, who are a lot rarer than you might think.

Just judging from the people I've known who take acid and shrooms, I don't think that psychedelics have value for much beyond entertainment. I have taken ecstasy and shrooms myself. Yeah, they're fun. The "comedown" as shrooms start to wear off is probably one of the most interesting feelings I've experienced, but I don't think that anything I've experienced while "under the influence" has been "enlightening" in any way. Most of the time on hallucinogens you're too busy trying to figure out what's real and what isn't to gain any real insight. But I guess that might change for people who do this stuff really regularly and get "used" to the sensation of unreality.

It depends on your levels of wisdom and whether you have already laid down the proper intellectual foundations for genuine insight to take place. Psychedelics can be useful under those circumstances. They can suddenly trigger the mental connections that you have slowly and subconsciously been working your way towards over the previous months or years.

But of course, this isn't applicable for most people who take them, as their minds are too scattered and random to begin with.

This topic came up the other night with some friends of mine. Apparently one of them was watching their friend trip and for whatever reason their friend started talking about "the questions, the questions, there's so many questions" - My friend gave him the back of a Sports Illustrated where the last section is "The Answers" to a quiz in the middle. The other kid clung onto that... point being that just because something seems profound when you're tripping doesn't make that true.

Wait... are you suggesting that Sports Illustrated isn't utterly riddled with profound insight? You obviously haven't realized that baseball isn't really a sport, but simply a giant metaphor for everything in existence. It's true(ish)! Although really, is the degree to which something is profound ever anything besides a "seeming". I'm not sure what device you'd use to measure the amount of profound in any given thing.

Oh, I wasn't really aiming at how profound that thing is but rather how true that thing is. In other words "Boston Red Socks" might seem like the most profound thing ever to this kid - and to that extent it is profound - but it simply isn't "true" - in that it isn't even close to the answer to the questions he was asking such as "why is the sky blue?" or "why are there so many questions?"

I figured that might be what you were getting at, but I felt like being randomly contradictory. Although, I'm not so sure what sort of device you'd use to measure the amount of truth in any given thing. Huh... actually, I'd say that everything has about 100% truth except for those sneaky propositions. If a fella could avoid language altogether, he'd never have to worry about being wrong about anything. Now there's a method of enlightenment for you. :)

merry xmas acid eaters...

yes, I am tripping right now, so I thought I would contribute, since I am left with no one else to occupy me, in this morning of emptiness. too bad that christmas is not as meaningful to the public society as it once were, for it is powerful, and as powerful as this acid trip, but as I see one merge into the other, the meaning is ever increasing. as my associations are loosened, and I envision a deeper meaning in the trivial, then a deeper meaning in the not-so-trivial seems that much more important, and perhaps this meaning will become entirely devoid of what it is presently, but if my perceptions are stunted, then my awakening in this state may well be more, or perhaps you will simply say, "not." well, that is the popular opinion, but why not choose that the physical laws are disobeyed? the rules of language are pushed to their limits, and reality is the only thing that is flawed in my present condition. man cannot stay here, but God has a right to live even above it. On this Christmas, then say to God, Christ is again permitted to rule over man. And, man shall serve his pleasure!

Acid,

I'm alone today too, but I did not find it necessary to trip on anything. I didn't have any friends or family with me on Thanksgiving either and I didn't trip; I just posted here - and it's looking like for Christmas I may have to curtail my time here as well (I hear thunder, and I've already nearly been electricuted 3 times in my life, so I probably ought not push my luck. On the other hand, I don't overly care).

I'm not going to bother to respond to your tripping insights so far because they are not very good (but if you still think they are good when you are straight, I'll respond then). If you do come up with something you think is a major insight, please do post it. I'm sure it will be interesting to see if these tripping insights are actually any good (including by your own standards when you are straight), or if they just seem especially good because your mind is messed up.

The tree and the neighbors yard decorations probably look pretty cool, though.
