Art

Artists have forever captured nature, but not Nature.

I will capture Nature.

Keep an Eye Out

Post by sevens »

In the future,

I have ambitions to write a book.

And, a screen play -- details from the book.

The film will be unlike any other, for it will harness the untapped energy housed in the unconscious mind. I envision the entire picture to be made up of poetic devices, each clever and engaging -- with vivid surrealistic imagery. Solely engaging the viewers imagination, the film will be both a glimpse into Reality, and the human drama - both intricately intertwined. Think Hitchcock meets Fellini. Or, Dali meets Van Sant.

Another Tale

Post by sevens »

Today,

I was boarding an elevator, headphones on - music 'scoring'. With the beauty of Life in my mind, I observed a multitude of interconnects massing, before my eyes. Before boarding, I locked eyes with a girl, who made a little face (most likely due to my confident toe-tapping, and her lack of this universal, unconditional rhythm). So, we board, and share a space - headed to the lobby. But, before our metaphor ends, we causally pick up some visitors on level four. To compliment the insecurities of the before-mentioned lady, her twin makes advances - entering my field of vision, and the elevator.

My trusty iPod is pumping out glorious grooves, accenting my new found swagger. Before the doors lock, a black male enters. At this point, I am in an elevator with 3 potential anxiety productions - for, when I perceive uncomfort or disdain from others, I inject it into my own psyche. But! Today, I reprogramed.

The unity of the situation was clear, and so were the multitudes. Unity first, living within - multitudes next, for the walk.

With the causal flow of the past week, the impact of the situation was uncanny and unbelieveable.

When you analyze word devices - puns, rhyme, metaphor - you begin to realize that these tricks of the tongue are woven into reality. The nature of reality can be deduced from our structuring of language. This concept opens up many new frontiers - holistic thought is embedded in our universe, and should be developed in our minds.

Gather informaton, from the left, or from the right, side of the brain - and weave, color fully.

The flow of pictures and words will begin to multiply.

The greatest gift you can give a child is the gift of sustained childhood. I believe, that through mp3 technology, children will be able to expand their imaginations in and through their youth. Portable music players enable their fertile minds to perceive Life through a kaleidoscope - without the stress of alien glances, and alien mumblings.

"Billy, quit thinking!"

:)

(Of course, they'll still have to experience pain, and discomfort. But, mp3s contain wisdom)

Light

Post by sevens »

When your awareness reaches a certain point, all forms of light - street lamps, flash lights, the sun - convert, into 'crystal rays'. The ability to isolate a single ray of light, and observe it, is more than a metaphor. Now, what does this mean...

Have you thought about how those things work in different languages, and why they generally don't translate well?

Lost in Translation

How do they work in different languages? Why don't they translate well?

By learning a new tongue, you are expanding your world. New language will most likely cause an individual to arrive at new thought patterns, and ultimately, new perceptions. I find that very intriguing. Have you, or anyone on the forum, experienced this?

Ailments

Post by sevens »

Many psychological ailments - narcisscism, self-centeredness, projection - are in fact, not really ailments at all. Well - when they are injected with the right amount of health, and understanding. For, many stages of Enlightenment itself, are rooted in these very thought processes.

The highest form of irony?

Clothes

Post by sevens »

Looking back over the years, I have never found clothes that fit. And because of this, I always looked upon many forms of culture as petty, and superficial (and rightly so!). But, soon, I will buy clothes that fit.

Manners

Conduct your mannerisms in a fashion that best suits you. Be ever mindful of the rapid movement of your hands, the elegant sway of your legs, the quick whisp of your nose -- in these actions, there are keys to higher states of awareness, and higher states of confidence.

The ego is a menace. Especially, when it prevents Art from resting in the imagination. Manifestions seek to symbolize our collective unity. What you see, is what you are. What you don't see, is what remains to be learned.

The key to intelligence, lies in clarity - a direct synthesis of form, and function. It is what you do with simplicity, that produces complexity - greatness. All creativity is building, on a swift, breezy river boat. You begin with an idea, and then rapidly free associate - and with the correct measure of taste and knowledge - you methodically arrive at something profound. There is a formula. To each individual, it requires a method - a different journey - to the same mountain. If anyone is to ever lose their creativity, it is only an indication that they have lost touch with themselves - with the(ir) universe. This explains why so many of the great artists were so enrapsured with nature. But, unfortunately, many did not seek to uncover themselves, through her.

All forms of pretension, arrogance, vanity - are a direct result of the dreaded 'artistic temperment'. An artist is drawn to this disease because of a history of social neglect: isolation, over-sensitivity, and insecurity. But, it is only through these infirmities of the mind that the artist reaches his/her heights: Art is either a conscious, or unconscious, form of therapy.

The true artist, is a child - painting with their Mother, and calculating with their Father. The correct process of artistic development leads one through Life, showing an infinitude of prisms for the Mind, and for the Spirit. Insanity is so prevalent among artists because of their highly-tuned sensitivity, and high intelligence. What is lacking with these individuals is wisdom - a proper understanding of situations, and emotions.

Self - Beyond Space and Time

Post by sevens »

The Temporal: Cause and Effect
The Eternal: Cause and Effect Realized, or No Cause and Effect

The self: In Cause and Effect
The Self: Freedom in Cause and Effect

Man: Contains a Self, lives in The Temporal
God: Is the Self, lives in The Eternal

God is within us.

(Our self, is not bound by space and time, explaining psychic activity - like precognitive dreaming.)

Autism

Post by sevens »

Many forms of autism, I believe, are due to young children who are highly intelligent, and highly sensitive. These young ones are completely disatisfied with the outside world, so they escape into their own. Without the tools to cope with what they are perceiving, they remain in a suspended stage of growth, a possible revertion to an earlier stage of development. This concept completely breaks my heart. I hope to one day, produce a series of videos, or specialized toys, or music - to encourage these children. They need someone, or something that can communicate with them - 'see' what they 'see'.

Next time you see a B-Boy breaking it down, know that each movement is a direct representation of their soul. It is Zen in motion.

And, next time you hear a DJ scratching, know that the level of their communication is truly stellar.

The Buddha mind, is really no mind, at all. Well, it is not a mind that we are accustomed to at least. The Buddha mind, is simply, a clear perception that floats the breeze - constantly aware of the smooth unfoldings between both mind and Nature. Zen Enlightenment, on the other hand, is really just a calm poetic mind - a mind that reflects back upon itself, while still very much aware of the doings in front of the mirror as well. What the Zen mind allows you to do is very interesting. It really transforms your mind into a film projector, and a video recorder - at the same time. So, when in Zen, your reality is just like a film.

You're young, aren't you? Maybe still in college? You should certainly learn another language.

If you are of college age, I suggest you learn French or Spanish, depending on whether you intend to flee to Canada or to Mexico when the draft is reinstated.

I already know I good amount of Spanish. I would enjoy delving into Japanese, Russian, and German. Japanese for the expansion of abstract symbolism. Russian and German for the classics, in literature and philosophy.

I'm 24, still in school - rounding off my walks through the city scapes. I'm majoring in Graphic Design. Portland is Canada, right?

From The Mouths of Babes

Post by sevens »

The minds of children are so open, that they could be thought of as 'one with the universe'. Sure, their ego-centered nature is apparent, but there is something else in their tiny minds: something supernatural, something transcendent. They know things, that normal adults just don't have access to. When a young child is developing, adults are so often completely baffled at the words that appear from their imaginations. In truth, their imaginations are really quite 'cosmic'.

Now, if we could bridge the gap...

To the future, and beyond!

Take a stroll through your backyard, or a local park. Look for new plants that have landed. You may study them, and find something of yourself - growing.

iPods,

Buy an iPod. It is such a joy, learning to meditate creatively. It is one way to catch, eat, and then - throw back - your insecurities, among other things. Soon, you may even find yourself swimming through a misty pond.

Morality

Morality should not be thought of as a sentimental notion, to sway into. Morality, is, a process. It is fundamentality programmed into our universe - into our minds. When you approach morality, you are approaching an unfolding intelligence.

The Future

Think to the future, when you think. Think of your bloodline, and think of your family. Think of your community. Think of your environment. Our DNA can be reprogrammed, psychologically.

And, remember, try not to over-burden yourself. Go with the flow.
