Why does everyone on this forum speak in indirect stories and metaphors?
Forum communication is hard enough, and open to enough misunderstanding, why not be straight forward with what your trying to say, and honest with the reason you are saying it?
Seeker if Wisdom,
I don't posses reason. My humbleness for enlightenment proves I am worthy for that higher self. I am at your feet ready to learn for better or worse what is enlightenment. I struggled my whole life just to attain wisdom when my best friend earned it first!
SeekerOfWisdom: Means nothing more than the unknown cause of our incredible sensual experiences and witnessing of consciousness.
Bingo. Wisdom. Now can your get your mind that craves causes, the making of an illusory god [the making of a curriculum] to listen to this wisdom? This is the challenge of the spiritual path, no easy feat. Since you are interested in the teachings of the Buddha, I offer you this sutta: http://www.accesstoinsight.org/ptf/dham ... index.html
Renunciation is necessary so that the taste of wisdom you now have can become the meat of wisdom for your chewing.

Describe more clearly to me renunciation, the Buddha didn't reference any deity in that sutta? And I am not craving a cause, I am witnessing a cause.
I am experiencing consciousness, but I have no hand in forming this. We are witnessing the creations of consciousness, the unknown cause is the underlying consciousness, the manifestations are all we know of it.

What is human being in the ontological domain.
What is the meaning of human being.
What does it mean to be human.
What is it to show up in the machinery of human being.
What is the don't know we don't know.
Not the conditioning that gets a personhood.
Not the curriculums religions provide as a means to an end, as a set of escape plans to get from here to there,
an engagement in a Hero's Journey of renunciation, initiation, return.
a curriculum with a diploma.
What the Buddha taught was Reality is right here, right now, 'round about here, this is it.
Zen!
This moment.
Not a concept.
There's a great TV show called 'Lie to Me' featuring a Zennish detective.
What was Diogenes up to when he walked around with a lamp trying to find an honest man and couldn't find one.
SeekerOfWisdom wrote:First of all, you commented out of the blue saying my approach was naive, I automatically assumed you meant my philosophical approach... what else could you be talking about? You then referred to non duality, which I have heard people connect as the reason for reality being an illusion... which is completely wrong.
This thread is about how you want to form a League of Wisdom and your speculation on teaching others. After some diversionary circlejerking you returned the thread to its original focus and I answered your question. I was intentionally vague hoping to intrigue you with "the history of Western nonduality". People on other forums have immediately grasped this term but you seem to be touchy about "nonduality" so try "the Western history of the Infinite". The names most often discussed here barely scratch the surface.
Care to outline the point you were trying to make?
You will only become an effective teacher by experimentation and studying history. I gave you a starting point for the latter.

"If they did not laugh, it would not be the Tao"
Prove that I don't get It or stop posturing. It may appear that I am a "mean man" but I'm not mocking the Tao, I'm mocking you. Out of compassion I'm busting your balls here to help you past your intellectual vanity. I figure some heat on the Internet is far better than a comeuppance in the real world. You should wonder why I seem to be the only one doing so.
The group was for people of wisdom, not you. People that know the truth.
I know I know the truth, that is the nature of truth, so, if you are saying that I do not know, that I have been vain, naive, or wrong, please, point out where... So I can show you not to mock people that are more intelligent than yourself.
I openly challenge you, only to show that I am of superior intellect and wisdom.
From now on, if anyone cares to mock me, thinking themselves superior, I will openly challenge them and shame them for doing so. Only because it is wrong to let fools like you go on insulting people, not knowing they are fools.
And if there is also anyone else reading, that thinks similar thoughts, as Brad suggested, I also challenge you, to show that I am of superior intellect and wisdom, so that you will not go through life, pretending to know, degrading the significance of wisdom by mocking it out of foolishness.
Otherwise, if you do not accept this, do not talk to me, I will not converse with someone who mocks me saying I have been naive and wrong without pointing out where and providing an alternative that is otherwise correct. If you cannot do this, it will make clear that you are only pretending to know better, that you don't actually know, and can't show that you do.
I am never following you, and I never know if what your saying is directed at me. yes there is only the moment.. be more straight forward with the point you are trying to make if talking to me.
To be honest one would have to be honest with oneself.
What one wants or feels, but in truth, the self is an illusion, and hence real honesty is impossible.. I don't know what I want or should be doing, I just am, I could never be honest in those aspects.
I planted some seeds in a tub a few weeks ago and put the tub in the hothouse.
The seeds have sprouted.
If I took the sprouts away and threw them in the bin.
Workability would be lost.
The play of causality.
I am a Context for being completely confused about it,
or
I am a Context for being completely clear about it.

Still hard to follow... I
What are you trying to say?... because right now I am a context for being completely confused about it, whatever that means.
We are enlightened to certain truths and understandings, but not all of them.
So how can we say we have reached enlightenment as if it is a destination, are we measuring how far we are on our path and saying we are enlightened compared to those behind us?
We are seekers, if unsurpassable enlightenment was achieved, we would no longer feel the need to seek wisdom.
Since we still do, it is clear we have reached an enlightenment that can be surpassed, by us, even by the end of today...
How weak and fragile are our individual minds! A narrow and shallow awareness that isn't aware of what it has already seen and known!
If we are wise, then the only conclusion drawn from our ignorance should be team work. Why isn't everyone jumping at the suggestion of an honest, co-operative contemplative group?
Yes, I get how that one sentence sums up enlightenment.
Emptiness is not enough, for the sole reason that I believe in the existence of more, an achievable more.
Like I was trying to point out before, we have the potential to raise the bar, go beyond anyone that has come before us... you would deny your intelligent mind its greatest route to more intelligence?

Care to elaborate on this? What potential are you referring to in regards to intelligence?
To be more clear, what do you regard as intelligence?
Forming a group of genius/wise people. That is the route I was referring to. The potential is uncovering more of that simple truth that we know is always right in front of us, but we haven't realized yet, there is no limit... to go beyond we only need the will to "study everything".
