Ryan,
Trying again after last whole response was deleted. -.-
It is inherently good to minimize suffering, and keep a balance on the planet. If you are unwilling to recognize the importance of developing a strong conscience capable of determining right and wrong then I’m at a loss.
Only Christian morality holds that minimizing suffering is good; happiness and suffering are actually directly proportional, something that most people these days don't realize. Overcoming suffering is different than minimizing it. Look at today's generation for example -- our parents tried to minimize our suffering and now lots of us desire more than anything else to suffer. As for the strong conscience to discern right and wrong... what is right and what is wrong???
NM: To understand something one must be detached from it.

RR: A rational person is beyond detachment, he is in a psychological state where there is no separation between the observer and the observed. There is no self there to be detached. Detachment implies a self that has detached itself.
Detachment isn't actually possible. Nor is "beyond detachment".
RR: Rational is just a dead word. A pointer. All words are just symbols, maps to point to something, however all things are created as a function of consciousness, it is a function of consciousness to divide reality into things, but there are really no things there.
Too bad we can't go beyond consciousness to test this assertion.
NM: So the point to your life is to experience this emptiness? Why why why? My hypothesis: you are afraid to suffer or running away from suffering. How do you do this? By detaching and becoming completely rational and basking in "nothingness" until you die and can join with the true nothingness.

RR: Intelligence implies the ability to prevent suffering. If one is suffering, this is usually an indication that a stupid action has occurred. Suffering is an indicator to tell the spiritual seeker what not to do. For instance: Romantic relationships involve a lot of unnecessary suffering because they are based on emotional attachment, which is one of the more stupid actions to take in a spiritual context.
Intelligence is the ability to learn. It often results in preventing unnecessary suffering. Whether suffering is necessary or not depends on whether or not avoiding it would compromise the goal. Suffering is very much a part of life and happiness.
Civilization is not a fair and just place at the moment.
Much more "fair" and "just", to use some moral human terms, than any other animals I see on this planet. There's no pleasing you though, there must always be something else to blame and despise for your suffering.
Work conditions are horrid, and humans have no sensitivity for the suffering of others, essentially people's lack of conscience prevents work conditions from becoming more fair.
The weak and sick around the globe are with you on this. Let us overthrow the masters and achieve universal contentment!
If humans had better developed consciences then perhaps a sensitive intelligent individual like myself could tolerate working in the society.
Their fault. If they weren't so inferior you could tolerate them.
NM: The sage loves having no responsibilities or troubles and being detached from everything. Is this not the same as a dead man?

RR: Yes, he is literally a dead man, that is the essence of enlightenment, dying to the world. The most important responsibility one has is to perfect ones own mind, this activity has much more worth than dedicating oneself to doing some tedious task for society for years and years.
How is it the most important responsibility to perfect one's mind? Did God... I mean Truth... command this of every mortal? I also can't see how perfecting one's mind has more "worth" than doing something for society. Surely this is the most selfish thing I've heard yet from you, and irrational too, to view life as though it is all about you!
NM: I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy to discover and become enchanted by what you guys are teaching here. :(

RR: There is nothing to be enchanted by here. The truth is cold, stark, and shocking to the ego’s pleasures and comforts.
Sure sounds harsh and horrible. You must be doing a great thing by venturing into this cold! Not. We both know that you couldn't do any other! Stop trying to make it sound so herioc to run away from suffering.
We are genetically programmed to be ignorantly happy behaving like animals, but the spiritual man is beyond the worldly realm altogether.
There is no "beyond the worldly realm". Nietzsche describes 'emptiness' as some mystical unity with God -- very apt here isn't it. :)
Most men are so enchanted and addicted to a woman’s pleasure that to even consider the idea is so frightening that they automatically dismiss the idea as outlandish.
Yes I agree. And then there are some men to the opposite extreme who are so scared of women, adventure, ... suffering... that they will do everything short of commit suicide to escape living.
The world is run by women, not men. Men are blindly and ambitiously enslaved to her feminine desires, men do everything for her. All his actions are to please his woman, and the femininity within himself.
"The devil runs the world. We few ones are not fooled though! God/Truth is our savior and all who disagree will never see heaven as we holy ones do!"
Most men move in the total opposite direction of god.
We all know there is no God. Even Truth is not infallible, almighty, worthy of worship, infinite, full of grace, endowing with perfection, etc.
Essentially men live for pleasure, not truth. And that is what makes all men dishonest.
Dubious claim. Also what is inherently wrong with dishonesty? Does it feel icky? does God say no? does Truth's holy spirit not enter the hearts of men who are possessed by this demon?
They desire to accumulate more wealth, power and recognition to please women, wars are fought over women, men go to bars and spend thousands of dollars for women, they work jobs they hate to please women, they get in loads of debt to buy fast cars and over-sized houses to please women, almost everything a man does is to secure his sex with women. He behaves like a total baboon.
Will to power. Humans are just more advanced version of baboons. You are scared of being a wild animal (you who desire to tame everything) and you are scared to have power. Therefore you preach death.
So men sacrifice their entire lives for the lie that is woman, and their lives and deaths are a tragedy in the eyes of a sage.
To your sage having a purpose in life is a tragedy just as it is to a Christian. One must abandon all worldliness and embrace the infinite nothingness to live a truly meaningful life........ or so the weak convinces himself that he is actually the strong.

Neil,
happiness and suffering are actually directly proportional,
Exactly, pleasure and pain are two sides of the same coin, therefore happiness is a sham, a false golden calf that humanity worships.
what is right and what is wrong???
You have to listen to your body’s natural intelligence to discern that for yourself. You won’t believe me unless you come to these timeless realizations on your own accord.
Suffering is very much a part of life and happiness.
The type of happiness you are talking about isn’t worth the misery if you ask me.
there must always be something else to blame and despise for your suffering.
Its not blaming, it is seeing humanity as the emotional children that they are.
Let us overthrow the masters and achieve universal contentment!
Rebellion doesn’t work because the new lords are still slaves to their women after the fighting is over, and their women have insatiable desires, which makes exploitation of the workplace necessary. Who buys all the crap from China? Much of it is unnecessary. Much of it goes to women’s vanity products, trinkets and other dollar-store items that women love to buy on impulse.

You know why? Because it makes them SO HAPPY NEIL… yah! However, happiness is always at the expense of someone or something. Someone has to work 14 hour shifts to make all this junk that we don’t need.
If they weren't so inferior you could tolerate them.
Exactly. People drag you to hell with them. A person’s decisions affect you, I say, there is only an illusion that there is actual relationships between people in the world, but the truth is that they merely use each other to satisfy their own emotional desires. A regular bloke’s happiness is a sage’s hell.
I also can't see how perfecting one's mind has more "worth" than doing something for society. Surely this is the most selfish thing I've heard yet from you, and irrational too, to view life as though it is all about you!
The highest form of selfishness has a servitude component to it, a true sage doesn’t charge money for his wisdom, he gives it away for free. I can’t think of anything more generous than free wisdom. Every other service or product costs money.
You must be doing a great thing by venturing into this cold!
To be totally free from all attachments takes a lot of courage. Most men cannot live a day without constant illusions. The goal of the masculine man is to achieve a psychological state where nothing can hurt him, a sage achieves a certain emotional invincibility that the common folk will never know.
And then there are some men to the opposite extreme who are so scared of women
It’s not fear, its respect. I respect women’s integrity too much to allow her to get want she wants, which can only cause her and others she depends on misery.
The devil runs the world.
It’s not the devil. Humans are motivated to do things based on emotional desires that they are not even conscious of, and they don't realize how every action, and everything they consume comes from somewhere, and needs to be made by someone, they simply act of their lives habitually, never questioning anything. Their minds are not their own, they never become conscious individuals.
Also what is inherently wrong with dishonesty?
Have you ever heard the song, “broken hearts are for assholes.” Hedonism is wrong because it leads to horrific suffering when its abruptly taken away, have you ever read the story of Job in the bible, Job wasn’t a sage, he was just a regular guy who was very attached to the world, and that is why he was so devastated when all his attachments were taken away. The Christians have a bizarre moral to that story, but the lesson is how spiritually dangerous attachments are.
And you are scared to have power. Therefore you preach death.
It’s not a fear of power, I just see very clearly that it can go nowhere interesting. Shakespearean tragedies illustrate how climbing for the will to power results in anti-greatness. That is the lesson of the tragedy, the will to death is so much more beneficial to the world.
or so the weak convinces himself that he is actually the strong.
What’s your alternative? Living like everyone else? Maybe get a wife to please, and resort to violence to solve the world’s problems, those are the easy roads, they have been done a million times before, and the world is still disorder, So I say, we need a new direction, one that is based on psychological truths, timeless wisdom, and a submission to the masculine ideal.

That's normal. There are people who are incapable of being normal, one reason may be fear. Fear of a natural human process, emotion -- being emotionally exposed to the negative feedback of another can be too much to bear for some. So, they may cover-up their shortcomings, by contemplating...

'Normal' people are mediocre because they accept life at face value. They don’t realize that the human condition is something to be overcome. They don’t realize that free-will is an illusion, and that all their wants in life are caused by their erratic biology.

Are you trying hard not to be mediocre, by not accepting life at "face value". Notice how I'm asking, instead of simply deluding myself into believing I know what's going on with another.
They don’t realize that the human condition is something to be overcome.
...Or something to be exploited.
They don’t realize that free-will is an illusion
I can't speak for others, but this is something I realize. What good can be gaining by thinking in this way.

1ntel,

Thinkers that break away from the norm are more valuable to humanity precisely because they learn how to think for themselves, rather than merely comparing themselves, and imitating what everyone else is doing.

At the most rudimentary level, a ‘normal’ person continually says yes to life, whereas a sage says no.

Ryan,
NM: happiness and suffering are actually directly proportional

RR: Exactly, pleasure and pain are two sides of the same coin, therefore happiness is a sham, a false golden calf that humanity worships.
Humanity mistakes contentedness for happiness. They think they can remove all suffering and that will make them as happy as possible, but really you can't be happy without suffering. You fit right in with humanity on this.
NM: what is right and what is wrong???
RR: You have to listen to your body’s natural intelligence to discern that for yourself. You won’t believe me unless you come to these timeless realizations on your own accord.[/quote]Nothing about the body's instinct is timeless. Part of the body's nature intelligence is the mind and conscious thought.
NM: Suffering is very much a part of life and happiness.

RR: The type of happiness you are talking about isn’t worth the misery if you ask me.
How would you know? You are hostile to anything happy or great because you have failed in that respect. Now you have convinced yourself that they are wrong and you are right in the same way the weak Christian does.
NM: Let us overthrow the masters and achieve universal contentment!

RR: Rebellion doesn’t work because the new lords are still slaves to their women after the fighting is over...
Who said anything about women? Destroying them too is part of your rebellion! 50 years after you succeed humans will be extinct....
RR: You know why? Because it makes them SO HAPPY NEIL… yah! However, happiness is always at the expense of someone or something. Someone has to work 14 hour shifts to make all this junk that we don’t need.
We don't need truth, why do you work so hard for it? We don't even need life, why don't you just end the illusions?
NM: If they weren't so inferior you could tolerate them.

RR: Exactly. People drag you to hell with them.
In life everyone is competing with you. Just because you feel like you are in hell doesn't mean they are also. All it means is that they are succeeding where you are not. This makes you suffer even more and then you decide that everything must be an illusion and you must actually be superior by some higher standards!
RR: I say, there is only an illusion that there is actual relationships between people in the world, but the truth is that they merely use each other to satisfy their own emotional desires. A regular bloke’s happiness is a sage’s hell.
You can't get over being used? A true man be ressentiment right here boys.
NM: I also can't see how perfecting one's mind has more "worth" than doing something for society. Surely this is the most selfish thing I've heard yet from you, and irrational too, to view life as though it is all about you!

RR: The highest form of selfishness has a servitude component to it, a true sage doesn’t charge money for his wisdom, he gives it away for free. I can’t think of anything more generous than free wisdom. Every other service or product costs money.
Let me clear something up: there is no such thing as selflessness. You are selfish whether you want to believe it or not. It is just funny to me that you guys view yourselves and your values as the supreme of the universe while at the same time chanting about how non-egotistic you are. Same as the Christians do.... :)
NM: You must be doing a great thing by venturing into this cold!

RR: To be totally free from all attachments takes a lot of courage.
Running away from suffering takes courage?
RR: Most men cannot live a day without constant illusions.
It is only the lowest portion of men who get completely trampled on and must deny life and call it an "illusion".
RR: The goal of the masculine man is to achieve a psychological state where nothing can hurt him, a sage achieves a certain emotional invincibility that the common folk will never know.
Perhaps that is the goal of the masculine man but it was never the intent that he would negate himself to reach the state where nothing can hurt him. On the other end of the spectrum men can overcome suffering, rather than run away from it, to the point where nothing can hurt them.
NM: And then there are some men to the opposite extreme who are so scared of women

RR: It’s not fear, its respect. I respect women’s integrity too much to allow her to get want she wants, which can only cause her and others she depends on misery.
I'm not buying it!
NM: Also what is inherently wrong with dishonesty?

RR: Have you ever heard the song, “broken hearts are for assholes.” Hedonism is wrong because it leads to horrific suffering when its abruptly taken away, have you ever read the story of Job in the bible, Job wasn’t a sage, he was just a regular guy who was very attached to the world, and that is why he was so devastated when all his attachments were taken away. The Christians have a bizarre moral to that story, but the lesson is how spiritually dangerous attachments are.
I'm not seeing the link to dishonesty here. At any rate, suffering is dangerous, I agree -- but not as dangerous as a lack of suffering. If you never suffer you never grow. If you suffer and get pulled under you can die.
And you are scared to have power. Therefore you preach death.

RR: It’s not a fear of power, I just see very clearly that it can go nowhere interesting. Shakespearean tragedies illustrate how climbing for the will to power results in anti-greatness.
So you are afraid to fail? Afraid to climb and fall down before reaching any height? Poor boy. Note that Shakespeare sure reached the heights even if some of his characters didn't. But perhaps he was a better rock climber.
NM: or so the weak convinces himself that he is actually the strong.

RR: What’s your alternative?
Haha. To not delude oneself in such a nasty way.
RR: Living like everyone else? Maybe get a wife to please, and resort to violence to solve the world’s problems, those are the easy roads, they have been done a million times before, and the world is still disorder, So I say, we need a new direction, one that is based on psychological truths, timeless wisdom, and a submission to the masculine ideal.
The world will always be disorder. This is called being realistic rather than idealistic. Are you sour because you are a perfectionist and the world doesn't get close enough to your ideals?
RR: At the most rudimentary level, a ‘normal’ person continually says yes to life, whereas a sage says no.
The normal person says yes to what everyone else is doing. The sage says no to everything.

So then you are not claiming your route the best? Or are you only claiming so simply because it is yours? This confused me a little.

I’m speaking factually, there is no emotion behind this symbols, absolutely no resentment for anything. Do you understand that you and I are of the same process? There is really no individual at all….

Suffering is necessary for spiritual growth, but one reaches a point where there is little psychological suffering left.
Haha. To not delude oneself in such a nasty way.
You still have failed to provide me with an intelligent alternative, how do you think people should live? What is your philosophy of life that you are defending? I bet you have a girlfriend that you are trying to impress by working towards some financial goal, while secretly you have dreams of saving humanity through some violent action? Like superman, minus the cape right?

Everyone has ideals. However, one can accept the present disorder as it is, but still be realistic about seeing humanity improve.

Ryan,
I’m speaking factually, there is no emotion behind this symbols, absolutely no resentment for anything.
I'm skeptical. You appear to resent women and happiness. Actually you appear to resent all life, presumably because you didn't succeed in it. At least you must have at some time in the not-so-distant past. Therein you ran away from life by embracing an ascetic ideal and condemning all the "inferiors" who did not run away from life as you did and are thus "deluded", "ignorant", etc.
Do you understand that you and I are of the same process? There is really no individual at all….
Speculation. Once again we cannot step outside consciousness to judge this. At any rate we all practically live as though we are individuals. When I can see through your eyes I will grant that we are the same.
NM: At any rate, suffering is dangerous, I agree -- but not as dangerous as a lack of suffering. If you never suffer you never grow. If you suffer and get pulled under you can die.

RR: Suffering is necessary for spiritual growth...
You admit that suffering is necessary for growth. So why do you want to minimize it then? Do you want to stop all growth? How unnatural and toxic this plant finds you.
... but one reaches a point where there is little psychological suffering left.
How? By denying affiliation with anything that might be harmed and would usually cause psychological suffering. Is it good to reach this state where you are incapable of suffering? I suggest that only someone whose life is one of suffering and failure should opt for this route because they are too weak for the other.
I bet you have a girlfriend that you are trying to impress by working towards some financial goal, while secretly you have dreams of saving humanity through some violent action? Like superman, minus the cape right?
Nope. Right now I am almost as bad as you guys are and living like an ascetic eating, reading, studying, and sleeping.
Everyone has ideals.
Really?

Neil,

There is no resentment, I just know with certainty that being attached to a woman is anti-spiritual. You totally lose your conscious individuality, and your will becomes adapted to the will of a silly creature.
When I can see through your eyes I will grant that we are the same.
When you realize that everyone’s thoughts are the same as your own, and that all thoughts are ultimately determined by causality, then you will discover that the observer is not separate from the observed.
Do you want to stop all growth?
Growth is a simple as this: that was stupid, I shouldn’t be suffering like this, I’ll never do that again.
Is it good to reach this state where you are incapable of suffering?
No psychological suffering seems like a great deal to me.
Really?
Yes, if you define ideal as some future outcome that they are working towards, it is just the quality of the ideals that come under question.

Ryan,
There is no resentment, I just know with certainty that being attached to a woman is anti-spiritual. You totally lose your conscious individuality, and your will becomes adapted to the will of a silly creature.
So what led you to be so spiritual and non-silly in the first place? Resentment?
NM: When I can see through your eyes I will grant that we are the same.

RR: When you realize that everyone’s thoughts are the same as your own, and that all thoughts are ultimately determined by causality, then you will discover that the observer is not separate from the observed.
Everyone's thoughts aren't the same as mine. Whether my thoughts are caused or not is irrelevant. Why are you eager to prove that you don't really exist, that nothing actually exists? You can't prove causality.
NM: Do you want to stop all growth?

RR: Growth is a simple as this: that was stupid, I shouldn’t be suffering like this, I’ll never do that again.
Your growth is more like this:
"I am suffering. My life sucks. I want life to be an illusion, an error, a mistake. Wait.. it is!.. I don't even exist! Nothing exists! Therefore I, who does not exist, would be deluded and stupid to do something other than marvel at how stupid everyone else is and how none of them really exist either. I should teach them all that they don't exist either so they stop pretending they exist and join me in being superior holy warriors of Truth and dwell in the infinite. Everything that is wordly is small but I am not worldly and thus I am great!"

You do a complete reverse of values in the same way Christians do. Everything worldly becomes negative because you don't succeed at it. You make up (as none really exist, or at least none can be known to us) some standards beyond this world by which you imagine that you are actually the superior. God? Truth? no difference between them. You are obvlious to it all. Then you go and claim that you are extremely non-egotistic because you have sacrificed your suffering existence for your spiritual high. Poor sage. :(
NM: Is it good to reach this state where you are incapable of suffering?

RR: No psychological suffering seems like a great deal to me.
Too bad the only way you can reach this is by sacrificing everything that might cause you psychological suffering.
Yes, if you define ideal as some future outcome that they are working towards, it is just the quality of the ideals that come under question.
I don't. There is a difference between goals and ideals.
1ntel: Everyone's running away from the hungry lion!

He is in denial of his denial and even in denial of his denial of his denial. :)

Folly, tragedy, and getting sick of how silly I was. ; )

I would reiterate that every thought that arises in the brain is not our own, it is just an emotional response to causal conditions. All people’s thoughts have occurred millions of times before in previous brains. The collective consciousness is sort of like a cyclical ocean of unconscious thought.
I should teach them all that they don't exist either so they stop pretending they exist and join me in being superior holy warriors of Truth and dwell in the infinite.
I didn’t write the laws of the universe, I only learn them, and wisely align my behavior with them.
Then you go and claim that you are extremely non-egotistic because you have sacrificed your suffering existence for your spiritual high. Poor sage. :(
I agree with you actually that we cannot escape our selfishness, but a sage’s selfishness ends up being more beneficial for the whole.
Too bad the only way you can reach this is by sacrificing everything that might cause you psychological suffering.
It does require a huge sacrifice, I agree. However, what you are sacrificing is not of value anyway.

If you want to argue fatalistically you will to go the whole way. That my thoughts may be products of my environment does not mean I should stop making decisions or align myself with some psycho philosophy.
I didn’t write the laws of the universe, I only learn them, and wisely align my behavior with them.
The ego-less one has discovered the laws of the universe and is adjusting his behavior accordingly so God and Truth don't get angry at him.

Depends how you define "beneficial". It sure is more beneficial for you otherwise you wouldn't be doing it.

Ahh I was right. Your life had no value. In fact it probably had negative value. What a huge sacrifice. The only sacrifice that might be made would be by people you convinced to abandon their great lives for your nothingness.

There is no god and truth separate from what you are. I don’t believe as god as an abstraction, that is absurd, but I do claim that there is a consciousness of god, which can be attained.
The only sacrifice that might be made would be by people you convinced to abandon their great lives for your nothingness.
Haha. Great lives, you’re a funny man. That is the most hilarious thing you have ever said on Genius Forum.

Ryan,
There is no god and truth separate from what you are. I don’t believe as god as an abstraction, that is absurd, but I do claim that there is a consciousness of god, which can be attained.
What would this consciousness of god be? Would you be conscious of everything at once? Seems unlikely as I am limited to my eyes and ears. Or do you mean you would understand everything? This is an empty goal that humans are physically unable to meet.

I believe other people can have great lives, even if yours and mine aren't so great. ;)

No, it’s nothing that fantastic. understanding in general is limited, it is based on empirical observations, which are based on uncertain appearances. Actually, when one is in the state of emptiness, there is nothing to understand.

Sounds better than any drug. It basically has a permanent effect as long as you don't want to wake from your high.

No, it’s fairly raw and sobering actually. Solitude is very sobering, which is why most people are so terrified of it. To constantly need the comfort and pleasure of others to entertain you, and to need them to steal energy from is the essence of intoxication.

People are vampires of each other’s souls.
