Analyz this

Post by Evan Tucker »

Lets share our scriptures and sayings on ethics here. Give a scripture. Don't add another scripture till it has been analyzed at least 4 times. If it seems discussion is going to continue on the subject let it thrive and be part of it. Please give the name of the scripture where its from or who the saying is by and so forth.
I will make this simple.
1-Only scriptures and or words from philosophers on life and so forth
2-Wait till it seems the analyzing of the scripture is done before posting a new one.
3- Give who the scripture or saying is by and where its from and maybe even a hyper link so others can read more.

From the Koran
The elevated places

[7.2] A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers.
[7.3] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind.
[7.4] And how many a town that We destroyed, so Our punishment came to it by night or while they slept at midday.
[7.5] Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust.
[7.6] Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles;
[7.7] Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent.
[7.8] And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful;
[7.9] And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications.

That strikes me as drug addled gibberish, much like the Torah. Should I say that 4 times?

Evan, this thread could have been posted in your other thread where I originally requested that you post a few Islam scriptures. Everytime someone asks you a question you do not have to start a new thread, you have done this twice with me so far.

I’d translate these scriptures, but I honestly believe it would be a waste of my time, I now realize why I’ve never read the Koran, my intuition guided me well.

Dan is right, there is no content in those scriptures. It is cryptic nonsense.

The forum i came from it was custamary to stay on the same topic so that people new to the conversation could catch on easyer. Thats just were i am coming from and what im used to. So i am sorry for the wast of space i have created. I just figured that becouse the ideas were so far off track they should be made into another topic.

Evan, why did you choose this specific Surah?

As you can see it's very hard for people to relate to these texts anyway. But I'm one who believes the Qu'ran orginaly was written, or parts of it, by someone with direct insight in our reality. The language and culture around the message makes it not the ideal texts to transmit over the boundaries of a culture though.

My analysis start with a better translation and interpretation, using a couple or different resources and my own judgement, while under the assumption only the wisest things were intended in the original texts. Muslims read their Qu'ran only in Arabic though and are weary for translations or personal interpretation from anyone without proper credits. It's not open game as in Christianity.

Qu'ran: Surah 7. The Heights

2. This text is revealed to you - so don't let your heart be heavy - let it serve as a warning and reminder.

3. Only follow God's revelation and not any other voice. How little do you know!

4. The undoing of many human settlements were caused by me. Unsuspected at night, or while they were sleeping during the day.

5. The only thing they had left to say was that they were utterly wrong.

6. Really, we will question the ones receiving the teaching and most certainly we will question the messenger.

7. And certainly we'll relate to them with knowledge because we wouldn't be absent.

8. And all judgements will then be just. Those who are the most discerning, they will be the ones succeeding here.

9. And those without discernment; they will have no soul because they keep rejecting our revelation.
