Dreams and Reality
Re: Dreams and Reality
ok....say i just love this jewlery i see in a catalogue from Macy's.....but being that i have renounced such worldly things, and can't afford to buy them anyways, i instead keep all the catalogue's of jewlery and just daydream about them....so in my mind I am still attached to them...even though i can't ever buy & wear them....but i am so proud to having renounced worldly things......that pride in being non-attached, because it's soooooooooo spiritually satisfying, more satisfying than satisfying myself with being able to wear and have those jewels in my possession.....is clinging to non-clinging. But if i was REALLY not clinging, it wouldn't matter one way or another if i actually had those jewels or not.
ok...i see your point now _/\_

Transcending is not a going "to", transcending is a pattern of thinking dedicated to ending thinking, logical patterns such as A = A or poetic patterns such those of myths and metaphors of spiritual identity. Transcending thinking is a gradual, ongoing process culminating in a consciousness wholly dedicated to this one thing.Kunga wrote:Then there is clinging to not clinging : )movingalways wrote:Precisely. Which is one if one desires to cease being restless, to cease clinging, they must transcend the mind(body), wherein they discover Buddha, Christ or Witness consciousness.Diebert van Rhijn wrote:The mind is restlessness itself. Moving always, movingalways. But yes, not clinging to anything brings rest from clinging.movingalways wrote:Wisdom of A = A brings the mind to rest.
And how to do "transcend" from that which you already are ?
Where do you "transcend" to ?

So... we should of been born a tree or a rock ?movingalways wrote:Transcending thinking is a gradual, ongoing process culminating in a consciousness wholly dedicated to this one thing.
Wouldn't having a lobotomy speed things up ?
In other words....why have a brain, if the purpose of our life is to transcend thinking ?
Do you think some day, after not using our brain to think,[ because we've mastered "transcending thinking" ], we will evolve into
a species that has a brain...but it will be "out of order" ?
Isn't that what some men consider women to be like ? [UNCONSCIOUS]

Yes. I didn't say there wasn't suffering, or that some suffering can't be avoided, just that both is the natural(how it is and has been) way of things.
I don't deny the possibility of an end to this repetitive 'swapping', I would like to be shown the correct understanding if mine is wrong, I just deny that there is any understanding/account of this actually occurring, and if there is no such possible first hand account of this occurrence, why expect it to be true and aim for it?

So rather than aim for the end of repetitive 'swapping', you're opting for the continuance of repetitive swapping?SeekerOfWisdom wrote:movingalways wrote:

Seeker, ending thinking is a movement into the deep and silent wells of the spirit heart.

Re: Dreams and Reality
They are definitely deep and silent, I find them to be completely empty manifestations, I have not yet experienced anything that suggests a different path aside from experiencing these.
Though I have not been dedicated to pursuing such a thing and that could be the reason, you may be right, it could be true that I am still clinging to life rather than accepting the obvious emptiness and repetitive, seemingly pointless, nature of these manifestations. I do understand what it means to have disregard/disgust/detachment toward it and that definitely supports what you say. Who knows, maybe one day I will come to the point where my disregard and detachment grows to the point of forcing me to the path of denying sensual attachment.

Many seem to think what they do not understand is the void. You don`t know what you don`t know.
The void does not exist and yet - it is all there is.

Brain, which eventually becomes food for the maggots, is the totality of you?Kunga wrote:So... we should of been born a tree or a rock ?movingalways wrote:Transcending thinking is a gradual, ongoing process culminating in a consciousness wholly dedicated to this one thing.

How is a consciousness that is wholly dedicated to transcending thinking an unconscious thing?
Re: Dreams and Reality
Why did it take you so long to answer my questions ?
Were you thinking ?
When I get into a trance, i will answer your other questions :)
