Is Anger an Emotion...Can the feeling be abolished?
Seldom almost never do I become angry, the feeling sweeps over me, it's not overwhelming, but it initiates a strong drive within me to seek vengence. But, not violent revenge, more of a verbal whipping. The feeling disapates after a minute, sometimes longer.
Is it possibe to learn to control this feeling, is it a bad idea to stifle a feeling, or should the feeling be allowed to show itself naturally?

None of the above :)mensa-maniac writes: Is it possibe to learn to control this feeling, is it a bad idea to stifle a feeling, or should the feeling be allowed to show itself naturally?
You [rhetorical-you] must go instantly to the thought, for there is always a thought connected to a feeling. And there is always a value connected to a feeling, so you go to the thought behind the feeling seamlessly. By this time, the feeling has delivered, like a seed casing, what it is that is connected in thought/value, and instead of hanging onto or wallowing in the seed casing, you get to the nature of the seed. Only there can one become conscious of oneself instead of helpless-to. Feelings deliver ourselves to ourselves; as long as we don't cling to the feeling itself. It rises in order to pass away; you (e-); in motion. And it delivers us knowledge of values; hence, whether we want to hold to this or that value or not. Have to become conscious of them first.
In short, there is more than just letting it show itself naturally. If one does no more, one is only staying with the feeling.
If one lets them move, as is their nature [feelings], one sees them dissolve on their own, and captures what they were connected to. One begins to live this way instantly, seamlessly, untroubled by what is always ephemeral to begin with.

anger is a feeling
if you suppress it ...it will eventually erupt like a volcano...
we choose how to express anger...we have control...
when you lose control...that's when you might regret your reactions
controlling it not supressing it helps to alleviate it without the harmful results that can result when out of control.
there's a reason for the anger...when you understand that and can get to the root of the problem...less anger to deal with in the future.
sometimes anger is healthy and a normal reaction...like if you were raped.
the trick is to express anger without harming yourself or others.
