So a few days ago on the Fox program "Red Eye" host Greg Gutfeld and three panelists criticized comments made by Canadian General Andrew Leslie. Leslie had said that Canadian troops would welcome a long needed break when they pull out of Afghanistan in 2011. Gutfeld and friends interpreted this as a weakness of the Canadian military and proceeded to criticize Canadian police as well.
This is pretty well par for Fox. Gutfeld issues an apology to the Canadian government stating his show is basically "ridiculous". However, in the clip Gutfeld and friends seem quite sincere in their criticisms.
Here is the clip:

What is the most important military position a man in his mid 20s could hold, in extraordinary circumstances?
What would be the most important and influential position a man in his mid 20's could hold in the government or military? It can be a government position (i.e. cabinet, etc.) but it must involve military or defense or something of the sort. And this is for a fictional story so it can be slightly unrealistic, but for the most part I want it to be theoretically possible.

I'd say that was a fine idea if Canadians had a well trained militia, like America was supposed to have - but they don't even allow their citizens to carry guns, do they?
Our military could use a year-long break, too. Heck, let's just declare world peace for a year, hmm? Let everyone have a year off war and occupations and stuff. People might decide they like it if they just Give Peace a Chance.

Yea, you can't really carry a gun, you can own a gun, but you aren't legally allowed to carry a concealed weapon, or carry a gun in public if not for the purposes of hunting.
