We are saying the same thing here, stupid actions are not separate stupid thoughts (immature emotions). It is all one movment.

However the external vices that we succumb to via stupid thoughts (immature emotions) also cause disease. You cannot say smoking does not cause cancer. That is silly talk.

It is a combination of the two: both the external stimulus destroys the body as well as immature thought/emotion patterns.

This is not an either/or.

For instance: the cleanup crew from 9/11 are now suffering from all sorts of lung diseases and infections due to the hazardous materials in the air after the bombing. The glass, asbestos and concrete fibres caused their illnesses. You can actually see the fibres in the lungs after the autopsy.

So you cannot reduce all illness down to direct emotional causes, that would be incomplete.

Obviously there would be indirect emotional causes, but we are refering to direct causes.

I have never believed that smoking causes cancer. Say 250000 people die of lung cancer in one year. Of these 45% are smokers....Statistically therefore it seems smoking causes cancer, but the actual number of smokers dying of cancer as apercentage of the total number of smokers is small..No I don't accept it . There are countless cases of people living till their 100's happily puffing away. Again cancer is a disease caused by faulty thought processes.
In the example you cite re 9/11 what percentage of these workers have been made ill,.100%? 75%? 30%?

This world is definately not as it seems. Neither is our health. For example there have been countless examples of people written of by medicine who have made miraculous recoveries.

Looking at it another way. The body is a machine and we (not doctors control it) You can cure yourself of illness and disease, by knowing how to use your own bodies indespensible "curing system"............and the first part is to root out that which is negative in your thinking (and some of this is very subtle) and allow that which is Benign to enter your thinking.

This is not a replacement for some of the valuable plumbing done by medicine .but I guarantee you in the near future this concept will become medicakl mainstream (The Doctors just have to work out how to call it their own and make monery out of it.
In case you think I'm making this up I've written a whole book on the subject which I never tried to do anything with (its not a commercial venture) I'd be happy to email you a copy

BTW You cannot argue with "seek and ye shall find" Jesus's advice means (amongst the usual meanings ) whatever you truly believe in will come true for you....

Standard reply "Iwant to be a millionaire but I'm not"
The key is to understand "that which occupies your thoughts most of the time and in the strongest measures..that is what you will become .........You and I are living proof of this ....Does it not make your heart sing?

No, what makes you seem fanatical is stuff like this:
For example there have been countless examples of people written of by medicine who have made miraculous recoveries.
There have been countless more people who have been written off by medicine who die within the next few days. They are written off for a reason: experience has taught doctors that they tend to die.

"This happens to less than 1% of people in this situation. That makes it pretty much a rule."

And...
cancer is a disease caused by faulty thought processes.
This is the first time I've ever heard someone say this. I wonder: how is it you've not caught cancer yet?

The sort of faulty thought processes I refer to are things like thought with, fear with anger, with pride, greed, envy, lust, arrogance and so on.
If you really think medicine has even 1% of the answers it is supposed to have you are a bigger fool than your postings suggest. But I can accept that someone as weak-minded as you needs to be told you are OK/dying by "an expert"

Over 85% of the workers that did not wear protective air masks developed illness, come on Natan, you gotta drop this overly simplistic theory of yours. It is not seenig the 'whole' picture.

You’re need to reduce all mental illness down to negative thought patterns is incomplete.

The body is affected by everything in its relationship. Man has created some lethal and poisonous chemicals that cause all sorts of mischief in the body.

Natan wrote:

Some individuals can filter toxins better than others, Have you studied any biology? each cell in the body is equipped with organelles to filter toxins and the effectiveness of each individual bodies are stronger than others (genetically determined). Some can smoke their entire lives and not develop illness, others die from exposure to second hand smoke.

My body is incredibly super-senstitive, I cannot eat any food with refined white sugar added to it because I will develop painful throat infections. I'm certain my throat infections are not associated with negative thought patterns, it is associated with the instances when I eat something that contains refined white sugar.

Natan, our food supply is contaminated and is a huge cause of illness. Look at what chocolate overdoses does to children after halloween!

I agree that negative emotions play 'some' role in the development of disease, but you cannot reduce the cause of 'all' illness down to this.

So stupidity doesn't count. Such a shame.

What answers is medicine "supposed to have"? I expect a surgeon to perform surgery... and lo and behond, a surgeon can perform surgery!

Question: how will going back to medieval Christian dogma about the seven sins going to fill in the gaps and provide solutions? Next time you get an ear infection, I hope the doctor's prescription reads something like "temperance 2mg bid, and no envy" instead of say, penicillin.
But I can accept that someone as weak-minded as you needs to be told you are OK/dying by "an expert"
Is this some kind of sick joke? Are you seriously suggesting that trusting the consultations about my health that I receive from registered doctors is a bad thing?

Cp OK I agree with you, my theory is incomplete BUT that is because we are only now beginning to research it more fully (finally dispensing with the power of thought =esp nonsense)
Yes there are many things that attack the body AND the way we think, the negativity in our thoughts make us ill BUT our thoughts, the way we think can also cure the body of all diease/illness
Therefore whether its a case of a lifetime of fear leading to kidney failure OR some sort of poisoning leading to kidney failure we can still cure ourselves. The question is, in the latter case how did the external poisoning get into us, but say not into someone else, equally exposed............Genes you'd say, something in the DNA whatever, but is it not true to say that thoughts have an energy/ a power/a form just like DNA or genes and could affect one's genes/DNA/ability to resist infection etc .

Its a balance. Medicine has always focused on the body, psychiatry has always focused on illnesses of the mind, but who has focused on the minds effects on the body? what,. discerited new age thinkers? It needs more work!

One key is the "placebo effect" - and one can conclude "Whatever it is that one believes in will work for that individual" Wouldn't it be good, empowering and so easy if everyone could analyse their thoughts, cut out the negative stuff, have the confidence to recover from illness by training their minds to heal their bodies to just the right extent.
Wouldn't it be good if we all believed their was a benign GOd

But no we are limited by what we see and what we are told, by people who have no right to limit us
If you have a mind it needs to be used not just to contemplate that their is nothing ..but also that we are in a trap of our own making.

In the Uk homeopathy worked for thousand ....that is until the Medical Establishment told everyone in a series of articles there was no proof it worked. The result? Its withering
But heck who cares anyway!

Its all about belief. and this goes back to the subject of the post. We believe in Medicine so IT lives. We don't believe in God so much so God dies. What you believe, what you live with the sum of your thoughts is what you get . Why are you happy with this??? I still can't get it Shrinking to make yourself small when the world is as I described is wasting your immense (and I say this because you have a very strong presence) gifts

You remind me of an article.

http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=4099
You have heard of the term "death by natural causes", yes? These natural causes run the gamut from disease to old age, and we accept that one day we will inevitably succumb to them if we are lucky enough to avoid a violent and possibly hilarious death at an early age. It turns out that "natural causes" are triggered by very specific and easily avoidable accidents that occur years or even decades before a patient's death. Without the influence of these accidents, the human body can thrive indefinitely.

We are still in the process of determining exactly which accidents cause which ailments, but here are our preliminary findings:

Cancer - Caused by stubbing one's toe. Lighter bumps = benign tumors, harder bumps = malignant tumors.

AIDS - Accidentally thinking of your mother while masturbating, even if only for a fraction of a second.

Heart Disease/Attack - Making a bowl of cereal while you're still sleepy, then putting the milk back in the cupboard or the cereal in the fridge.

Diabetes - Trying to wipe sleep crust from the corner of your eye, but making too fast of an approach and poking the eye itself.

Hang on Mooke Good article but here's a better example for you to meditate on
have you ever been afraid. Blood running cold etc . Now think how that felt, the testicles tighten, you need to pee.........its affecting your kidneys
The emotion of fear if repeated over and over for decades will lead to kidney disease/ailments
A better example for you . Someone insults you on this forum, your pulse races, your heart pounds , you just wantto type so fast you can't even be bothered to edit Well over the years this sort of behaviour will lead to heart problems/possible strokes
Simple enough even for you .right?
Now here's one for you, what sort of behaviour/thoughts do you think would cause say eczema?

I am merely describing a belief system that is practical

I would say yes, I do not trust registered doctors only because they do not have a complete understanding of nutrition. A large percentage of doctors do not understand that over 70% of the products in grocery stores should not be sold to people. Most products are laced with all sorts of chemicals to make them sweeter and to give them a longer shelf life.

Basically our food has been feminized.

Doctors do not acknowledge this because if they did 75% of them would be unemployed because the demand for their services would decrease as our food supply returned to being healthy.

Societies such as Tibet never experienced one occurrence of Diabetes only because refined white sugar was never introduced into their diet.

Many diseases are caused in this way and most western doctors are ignorant.

An ideal society should have strict nutrition laws.

Natan, you went right back to material causes to gain confidence in the theory (that greed, lust, and the other five sins are the direct cause of health problems). Your arguments stopped supporting your thesis. Notice how you have to turn to medicine and science to make any argument at all?

I don't know, but I'm going to guess you're going to say something like masturbation.

I fail to see how your belief system is any more practical than say, that which has produced the medical establishment.

cp, I can't tell whether you think doctors are being malicious or not.
A large percentage of doctors do not understand that over 70% of the products in grocery stores should not be sold to people.
On one hand, they are misinformed, and on the other...
Doctors do not acknowledge this because if they did 75% of them would be unemployed because the demand for their services would decrease as our food supply returned to being healthy.
... they are intentionally trying to poison us to keep their jobs.

...then back to...
Many diseases are caused in this way and most western doctors are ignorant.
Ignorance.

Have you ever considered that doctors might simply be powerless? I know if it was up to my doctor, alcohol and cigarettes would be banned, and nobody would ever destroy their lives with harmful drugs. Of course, it's really up to the patients to take his advice or not. He can't gather up a posse of nurses and storm their houses and enforce nutrition.

No, you can add to the 5 sins... ie blind faith in mankind, worshipping false idols ie medicine/humanabilities.recognise them yes but do not blindly follow them
But I have to say I don't really understand what you are getting at here!

No, intense feelings of mental agitation of course, deal with these and you deal with eczema

You fail to see how a belief system that gives the power to heal and be free from illness and reliance on so -called experts is more practical than what we have ? Oh its more practical and would be more sucessful but equally its more difficult to establish in the first place why? Because we live in a world controlled by institutional interests.

Medicine is doing Ok at the moment but religion is beginning to crumble. ....

I'm not suggesting Doctors are malicious or somehow aware of their ignorance, that would be silly, they are simply unable to see culture for the disease it has become, Alcohol and cigarettes are no brainers.

Most Doctors do not possess a profound understanding to see foods such as fast food, salted products, ice cream, chocolate, cookies, sugar cereal, potato chips, cake, crackers, etc to be taken off the market completely.

Instead they claim moderation is best and meanwhile they keep pushing medicine for problems that could be prevented if stricter nutrition laws were in place.

For instance: I had a conversation with a couple different doctors suggesting Halloween is like having a cocaine party for children and my doctors gawked at me frightened as if I was on cocaine.

Our food supply has become feminized and most doctors are incapable of seeing so therefore most of their prescriptions to illness are merely superficial solutions.

If all the doctors united with nutritionists and put strong pressure on the governments to change nutrition laws then things would happen.

The problem is that there isnt that sort of collective intelligence operating in society.....yet.

Many of these foods and diseases have been around before we knew what they were. Cancer has been around forever. they find new sources of it everyday in almost everything from salt and suger to TV. We can't say it just appeared in like 1800's. You can say we found out about it in the 1800's. What i am saying is somethings you cant take out of culture. As an african american fatty foods like chitlids (pig intestine) pig ears, and so on are a part of our culture. These were given to us by slave masters or as the only things a colored family could afford. We found them good and tasty. We now know that these foods are well not nutritouse to say the least. But we still eat them. Why? Becouse it tastes good and grandma grandpa and mom have been eating them since youth.

I agree with the docters in that moderation is best. The problem is america is a melting pot of cultures. We are mainly poor immigrants trying to make a living. Even to today we buy the most for the buck. Now lets combine the african american love of otherwise food wasted animal parts with things like italian food and irish foods. We know have a huge choice of cheap vast amounts of un-healthy foods. I garuntee that if Mcdonalds was around in 1860 that irish and italian immigrants would buy that by the bulk becouse of the cheapness and vast amounts one can get. Talk to a european. A large frie is the same size as our small. That is becouse they didnt migrate as a poor imigrant tring to feed a family in struggling envirements. The idea of eat huge dinner or lunch as the only meal of the day never realy enterd their culture. They also have culture specific foods. Ours is the worst becouse of our diversity. I would like to see it stay that way. I would rather eat my vast amount of chinese food food and run my daily 3 mile run followed by my boxing at the local gym (i may be fine with it becouse i hacve a rigerouse sport and excersize routine) rather than eat goverment sponserd food and do what ever becouse it was healthy. Also i feel that would add to goverment power. hey lets allow them to control what we eat!

Doctors didn't make us and therefore they do not know how to cure us and make us as we should be.Their medicine constantly shifts, like the snakes on their symbol and only when they dissolve their Union, become humble and seek the Truth will they realise that our health, like our Spirituality cannot be captured, bottled and sold back to us.
As regards nutrition I am Vegan, I do not drink, but I smoke . I check what I eat for toxins and poisons and I would not eat any form of carcass..Therefore my essence is not contaminated. I do like ciggies though.

I wasnt suggesting that Cancer is a new disease, however some diseases are new like Diebetes. My point is that wise people with good genes do not drop dead at the age of 45 because of cancer or heart disease. It is related to what nasty foods they are putting into their bodies, their psychology and also genetic flaws also play a factor.

Evan wrote:

That is not a good reason to do anything. We need to be wise for ourselves and stop listening to ignorant child-like people.

Evan wrote:

You're horribly conventional Evan.

If you understand how easily humans are conditioned to pleasurable stimulus then you would agree with me when I say a philosophy of moderation is an early death sentence. It is merely a justification for those who want to continue doing stupid things.

Evan wrote:

Control is not a problem if it is intelligent control. Canada has strict gun control laws and we have less cases of homicide than USA which has very little gun control laws.

If the laws are intelligent then I don’t see a problem, if the government is taking advice from experts that are wiser than the present slew of doctors then things will take a step in the right direction.

They have already started to take some junk food vendors out of junior high schools.

Like I said before, I think eventually you may see groups of nutritionists uniting to put pressure on the government to change laws of what food can be bought and sold.

Once people collectively realize how toxic substances like refined white sugar and salt are in the body then this will cause a massive food revolution.

Natan wrote:

I see, (CP scans the entire thread) that explains a lot.

Do you realize that there is no “you” that likes ciggies? It is just a mechanistic conditioned response governed by a physiological body that has become addicted to a chemical.

It would probably be a good idea to quit smoking especially if you’re trying to live a spiritual life. Smoking is an unintelligent response to aniexty and stress.

Smoking is involuntary, there is no "you" that is choosing to smoke.

choice is conflict. Free will is an illusion.

Do you really want governments deciding what kind of food everyone should eat & enforcing this? Eat a cookie, go to jail?

Do you want to live in a world where we're required by law to wear protective clothing at all times to ensure that we don't fall down & scrape our knees? That's where this kind of 'protectionist' thinking leads.

Obviously someone wouldn’t go to jail for eating a cookie, however you could implement laws that stipulated if a grocery store is caught selling cookies then they would receive large fines or lose their license temporarily. And a government could justify this law based on reliable information provided by nutritonists.

Laws are only a stepping stone, they are like training wheels. They are not necessary for the philosopher, but most humans are like children so they need training wheels.

Ethically speaking, there should be laws established to prevent big businesses from entering our schools and selling junk food to our children. Passionate individuals have already stopped this sort of activity from happening in certain regions.

If the governments did not implement laws then human beings would make money in whatever way they could. Laws function to deter ignorant men from doing ignorant things. People do not have to be passive observers; they can be very active in what is happening in their government.

I think you’re getting a little carried away. The problem with the capitalist economy is that it does not discriminate enough on what can be bought and sold; laws are the necessary bridge as humanity continues to evolve and mature. Look at what laws have done for society thus far; compare Canada to a third world country that lacks order and the structure of law.

For instance: In many African third world countries that lack any sort of law you have groups of men that gang rape women anally for fun, the men kill each other in competitive games and they exterminate certain races and so on.

Another example: In the USA in the 1800s you were allowed to bring your gun into the bar and get drunk and they noticed that homicide rates were incredibly high, however when they outlawed guns in bars then homicide rates decreased.

This isn’t magic, if the majority of humans are not strong enough to be philosophers then laws function to protect the safety of not just the ignorant man acting, but all those who he is in relationship to.

Law as a morality is a necessary bridge to the superman. It provides a fertile environment for the growing sage. The more enforced 'intelligent' laws there are in a civilization, the more orderly it is.

Why do you think countries such as USA, Canada, Britain, Japan, Austrialia, New Zealand, etc are much more peaceful and orderly then places in South America, Middle-east, Central America, Africa and so on? One of the major factors is the Sophistication of law you will find in the western world compared to other countries.

There is relationship between democracy, the sophistication of law and the boom of empiricism during this century. They are all interlinked and very necessary in humanity’s progression into the superman.

The hierarchy of organized structures is absolutely vital at this stage of human evolution, it couldn’t be any other way. And I suspect that law will continue to increase in complexity and become increasingly sophisticated until humans reach a state of maturity where they no longer need laws at all.

So the science of nutrition has now become absolute fact? Perhaps you are unaware of the changing fashions in nutrition, as in almost everything.
Laws are only a stepping stone, they are like training wheels. They are not necessary for the philosopher, but most humans are like children so they need training wheels.
Why just worry about what they eat? Shouldn't they all be mandated to have a thorough physical exam at least once a year & to follow their doctor's recommendations or face heavy fines & possible jail time?
Laws function to deter ignorant men from doing ignorant things.
Opinions differ on just what is ignorant. In many places stores are closed on Sundays by law because the idea is that everyone should be attending church.
People do not have to be passive observers; they can be very active in what is happening in their government.
Yes, when I vote, I vote for the Libertarians.
Look at what laws have done for society thus far; compare Canada to a third world country that lacks order and the structure of law.
Do you live in Canada? That might explain a few things. The US should be way ahead of Canada in civilization, safety & quality of life since we have way more laws, & yet. . .
For instance: In many African third world countries that lack any sort of law you have groups of men that gang rape women anally for fun, the men kill each other in competitive games and they exterminate certain races and so on.
Surely nothing like that has ever happened in the 'civilized' world. And you said Evan was conventional!
Another example: In the USA in the 1800s you were allowed to bring your gun into the bar and get drunk and they noticed that homicide rates were incredibly high, however when they outlawed guns in bars then homicide rates decreased.
In Montana, USA, you are allowed to carry guns anywhere, including into bars, though you're supposed to take them out of the holsters & put them down on the bar while drinking. They don't have a high homicide rate there.
This isn’t magic, if the majority of humans are not strong enough to be philosophers then laws function to protect the safety of not just the ignorant man acting, but all those who he is in relationship to.
Yes, this is why I mentioned requiring protective clothing. Some people aren't sensible enough to walk down a sidewalk without tripping.
Law as a morality is a necessary bridge to the superman. It provides a fertile environment for the growing sage. The more enforced 'intelligent' laws there are in a civilization, the more orderly it is.
I suppose by 'intelligent laws' you must mean laws with which you agree. There is nothing magical about law that makes it impossible to use it as a weapon of the strong against the weak, big business against everybody, etc. And how do you legislate the morality of issues about which reasonable people may disagree?

By the way, why do you call me Sharon?

There is a growing consensus that is becoming more widely accepted so yes eventually what I am saying will become absolute fact.

Shardrol wrote:

That is incorrect. Canada is much more regulated than the United States. We are pretty much a socialist country. The more intelligent regulations the more order. In Canada, big business have many many more restrictions than in the States, there is less economic freedom in Canada and therefore people are not exploited to the same extent as in the USA.

Shardrol wrote:

There is a small population in Montana. The stricter the gun laws the less gun related violence, this is an absolute fact, if you compare Canada with USA, there is a big difference. Guns are harder to get in Canada, you need to go through a lot of work. In the States, they are easily accessible.

Shardrol wrote:

yes, The laws are only as good as the people making them. However, If ‘proven’ Science is used to justify the laws then your weird examples will be negated by the policy makers. If people are eating healthy, they do not need regular exams, this is common knowledge to someone who understands nutrition.

Yes, this is why I mentioned requiring protective clothing. Some people aren't sensible enough to walk down a sidewalk without tripping.
People will never value what you are saying to the extent that they will pass a related law, you are just being silly. Laws are based on the societies present values and the more intelligent the values, the more intelligent the laws.

I suppose by 'intelligent laws' you must mean laws with which you agree. There is nothing magical about law that makes it impossible to use it as a weapon of the strong against the weak, big business against everybody, etc. And how do you legislate the morality of issues about which reasonable people may disagree?
I am not saying it always creates a utopia, There are many other factors, but the nation-state will function much more orderly than a third world country that lacks any laws. For instance: I would rather live in Canada or the USA compared to Haiti or Columbia.

We are superior culturally because we have a democracy, a sophisticated law system, and more of our moral conclusions are being reached based on empirical science rather than superstitious religious scriptures.

And yes, Intelligent laws are laws that I agree to. I know what is best for myself therefore I know what is best for society.

Another example: Communities such as Tibet had strict unspoken laws. Outsiders were not allowed in without special permission. Drugs and guns were not permitted and as a result they had very low levels of crime. Citizens had to live their lives based on strict buddhist teachings and they lived simple lives close to nature. Overall these people would be much happier than someone born in America with more freedom to choose. The stricter the laws, the more order.

Places such as Amsterdam and Paris have become the 'pleasure' centers of Europe only because they are so liberal with their laws. You will find many more prostitutes and sex addicts in these places because it is big business that is widely accepted. The women are exploiting themselves because there is a high demand for the sexual act. These are the last two places I would want to live in Europe.

People are that attracted to Amsterdam only travel there because it is notorious for being a 'party town.' In other words the people are collectively more stupid. It is the home of riffraff and misfits. But hey! at least the government doesnt interfere with their freedom... ; )

Do you really want governments deciding what kind of food everyone should eat & enforcing this? Eat a cookie, go to jail?

Do you want to live in a world where we're required by law to wear protective clothing at all times to ensure that we don't fall down & scrape our knees? That's where this kind of 'protectionist' thinking leads
Lets not escape from CP's rationality by merely parodizing what is good logic on his behalf.

I agree with everything he's saying, and since we're on the topic of laws and rules, I will add that I think public and private schools should prohibit children from wearing anything but plain and simple uniforms.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were also a home for artists, writers, and perhaps one or two thinkers. They might feel more accepted in such a place - with all the other freaks.

I also suspect this is the case. It is probably fair to say that you will find a minority of intellectuals and deep thinkers in any democratic western country even if their values/laws are incredibly unconventional (super-sensual).

To expand on your idea I would suggest that the color of the uniforms should be a neutral color, not bright – maybe a dull gray. And also the female’s uniforms should conceal sexual features that may cause the males to become aroused.
