The prophecy shall be fulfilled
Re: The prophecy shall be fulfilled
Thanks for keeping us entertained, Aaron. You are the Sammy Davis Jr of Genius, the sophisticated will-o-the-wisp with the easy grin, schmoozer of widows and kings, piquer of our imaginations where thought is concerned, and, in this case, trumpeting herald of absurdities to come, no doubt.

Carl. Consider yourself on my list of friends.Carl G wrote:Thanks for keeping us entertained, Aaron. But to stay on that list and hence run with my crew it's required that you change your name.
Trust me on this one.
I'm thinking, Carlo Gunner, or Carlito Gonzalaz, or even 'Bo Striker'.
These are the sorts of names that will really help us move foward together as a feminine conquering unit. Appearances are important here, and a name that really brings a sharp image to mind is important.
The name 'Carl' - - it's just too.........I don't know, for me it just too easily brings to mind the image of donuts, bowling, truckers, obesity, hazy coffee shops with juandiced peeling wallpaper.
How about 'Lance Shaker'? Or even: Snayke Phazer?
The name Carl, it doesnt give me the feeling that I'm dealing with the sort of Nietzchean overman that I want part of my crew - -even though I do sense that you are indeed of the substance I am looking for.
You know what I mean? You know what I mean.
So are you in?
Pick a name my friend.

LOL - of course, Dino!
Look, Carl, you don't have to change your name to be my friend. I was a little excited last night, a little too intoxicated by exciting visions.
After thinking it over deeply, I decided that I like you just the way you are. In fact, you calling yourself Dean Martin got me feeling a little insecure, a bit too powerless for my liking. Who knows what you could do with that name. What kind of person chooses that name? Someone who is a little to 'with it' for my liking.
I suddenly wanted things to be the way they were when you were just plain Carl.
You know what I mean? You know what I mean.
Let's go back to the way things used to be.
Consider your name to still be Carl, and please, still consider yourself one of my friends.

Aaron, this latest schtick of yours reminds me a bit of Ted Turner's insistence that all his employees have attractive powerful names (like Wolf Blitzer).
It also reminds me a bit of this.

LOL - OK weirdo. Fine with me, I'll take that as a compliment. So are you going to let Carl be Dean Martin or not?Aaron Mathis wrote:Cory, if that is your way of asking if you can be the Sinatra, in the Sammy Davis, Dean Martin rat pack trio, the answer is no.
Carl and I have a brotherly connection that I am afraid you are not man enough to understand.
And curious, who gets to be Sinatra and why am I not man enough for the role?

Well, it's complicated Cory. Sometimes I have the sufficient love to want to see Carl flourish and have him be of the greatness of Dean Martin.Cory Duchesne wrote: So are you going to let Carl be Dean Martin or not?
Other times I want to see him subordinated to my command, where I decide his name (yes, just like Ted Turner made his employee change his name to Wolf Blitzer), as I imagine Carl to be a lesser part of a Voltron unit, whereas I am the upper part of the Voltron unit. You know Voltron, right? It's like that. I sometimes want to be on top. Dean Martin feels a bit too lofty, I can't imagine him being anything but the more important part of voltron.
Imagine they made a movie about Dean Martin. And then imagine a movie about Sammy Davis. Dean Martin's just better. Maybe if Carl was Sammy and I was Dean, then maybe I wouldnt mind you being Sinatra. But that's not the way it worked out. It's just a big painful mess right now.
Or maybe if you were Sammy and I was Sinatra, I might be more comfortable with that.
When I'm feeling a bit in the dumps, rather than Dean Martin, I'd prefer to see Carl more like a William H Macy, a phillip Seymour hoffman, or that taxi Cab driver from Mike Leighs 'All or Nothing', or even better, a Rodney Dangerfield.
In the meantime, I imagine my self as the prime Alpha male, the supreme Nietzchean overman - the head of the voltron, or the Ted Turner of CNN.
But the truth is, my psychology regarding Carl is alot like that Alicia keys song 'fallen'.
Sometimes I love Carl - and would like nothng better than to see him flourish as Dean. But then sometimes Mathis is feeling the blues, he's feeling a bit insecure - -- and so he wants Carl to be an overweight taxi driver, or an actor like Danny Devito.
Actually, the real reason is because you just don't have the cool for the role. A Sinatra type would never ask such a question.Cory wrote: And curious, who gets to be Sinatra and why am I not man enough for the role?
Cory, you're just taking this way too seriously anyway - this is just a fun thread and your trying to turn this into a big psychoanalysis, as you tend to do. Probably because you were spoiled by your mother and you wet the bed as a child.
I'm thinking Rowden or Philo might be better for Sinatra.

Ok, so the crux of your problem is that you just don't want to be the black guy? Is that what this is about?Aaron Mathis wrote:Imagine they made a movie about Dean Martin. Your psychoanalysis is just putting a racist spin on this, and reflects only your own condititioning Cory.Cory Duchesne wrote:Ok, so the crux of your problem is that you just don't want to be the black guy? I was seriously thinking about letting you be Sinatra, but now I Know for sure that I'm giving the role to somebody else.
You had your chance at an audition - and you blew it!

Yeah, Frank and Dino are cool, and tall, but Sammy is the life of the party, the real leader. Sammy connects with the audience. It's Sammy who keeps the balls in the air, keeps the show on track. Sammy snaps his fingers, shifts his hips and says "hey, we gotta do a number here, and here's how it goes."

I recently discovered a funny skit by Dave Chapelle that imitates the formula of Conan by satirizing P Diddy’s reality show called Making the band…Aaron, this latest schtick of yours reminds me a bit of Ted Turner's insistence that all his employees have attractive powerful names (like Wolf Blitzer).

Ryan,
It appears Cory is too cool to say he's thankful for your contributions.
Not me.
Thanks for the Skits.
I personally laughed my ass off - especially at the Charlie Murphy skit. Those Charlie Murphy spoofs by chapelle are always funny.
Without question, you are the missing link to the rat pack.
Consider yourself the Sinatra that me and Carl have been looking for.
And consider yourself on my list of friends.

Thanks for the offer Mathis, but who says I want to be part of your girlie little rat pack anyway? you people are too jokey and whinny for me, There's money to be made out there damn it!
I think I'd rather be Momo Giancana - now there's a hard ass, there's someone that all of humanity fears, There's someone that knows how to get things done, he really knows how to take the bull by the horns.
He values the ends, and is indifferent to the means he uses as long as the ends are acheived.
Just call me Momo for short.

You're taking this way too seriously Ryan. Nobody is really forming a group and switching their names and identity here. This thread is just pretend, it's not real life.Ryan Rudolph wrote:Thanks for the offer Mathis, but who says I want to be part of your girlie little rat pack anyway?
But what is serious is the list of friends I have.
And you've been removed for the time being. For how long that will be depends on your behavior over these next few weeks, months, etc.
If you start to show some virtue, then I'll consider bringing you back onto the roster.

Aaron,
That last post to Ryan was real low. Cheap. Not to mention boring.
Although mildly amusing at first, you are really starting to get old.
I think you yourself probably feel the same. I can't imagine you feel very good about yourself. I sense alot of insecurity in you.
I suggest you take break from the forum and do some growing up.
Yeah, I know, I know....
i'm going down into the pit of ignobility, I'm off your lists of friends, etc, etc.
No hard feelings. I'm sure there is some potential in you somewhere, but this forum values a seriousness that you barely seem to have.
