Apology

Post by Kelly Jones »

I wish to apologise for not dealing properly with my anger. I'm apologising to people on this board, because it's where I've spread the most disease. If I don't apologise, I think it'll be much harder for me to right things.

There's a great gulf between what I know is true, and what I habitually think, say, and do. It's driving me crazy. I'd just like to be human, not a bullied person or a bully. Yes, it's all very well to wish, but if one doesn't fix things, then it's all hot-air.

I'd like to recall my earlier promise to take a 12-month break from the forum. It's going to take me a lot longer than that, and I'm an impatient person. So we'll see how it goes.

Quite the case for most of us humans. The point is that habits are very hard to break, and knowing what is correct is often insufficient, for the task.

Kelly, whatever anger exists within you, I haven't noticed you display it - neither on this forum nor when we met in person. I don't see any need for you to apologise in that regard.

Piffle.
Challenging the sincerity of your apology isn't the point.

But it's fairly obvious you're fooling yourself, if even that.

Sometimes, if you have the luxury of time, it can be beneficial to get a good night's sleep before making an important decision.
The human brain is believed to process such information while sleeping.
It can make arriving at a decision a bit more reliable.

If it's a decision such as those Presidents and Kings make, whether to take a nation to War; perhaps a weekend might be beneficial.

If you need a year to sort out your anger, then you should probably be under psychiatric care.

And if you're not, then it seems to me you're either avoiding addressing your issues, or playing out a silly melodrama to be invited to return.

Clean up your act.
If you sincerely need the help, get it.

If not, grow up.

Misunderstanding the gravity and import of your apology is my point.

Then again, I am a fairly ostentatious individual, and a bit of a blockhead.

A luxurious wank can be beneficial, watch some sports, and get a good night's sleep before making such an important decision.
The human brain is believed to replay the big games while sleeping.

I can make arriving at a decision a bit more reliable.

If it's a decision such as those Presidents and Kings make, such as "let's see, shall I take the nation to War?" perhaps a weekend at your country estate might be beneficial.

If I go with my gut and tell you you're crazy if you need a year to sort out your anger, then I should probably be under psychiatric care. So I won't.

But let me put on my "dad" hat for a minute. Young lady, it seems to me you're either avoiding addressing your issues, or playing out a silly melodrama to be invited to return.

Clean up your act.
(I sincerely need help; note to self: get it.)

Grow up.

Kelly,

The first go-a-round I'll take this apart (no pun intended) by paragraph, and later tonight sentence-by-sentence. I have the greatest respect for you, as you are one of the "select few" who use your "real name" on this board, and thank you, for posting this at the "Worldly Matters" section (you knew i'd be lurking here) ready to pounce :-)

Please PM me if you rather I not go sentence-by-sentence constructive criticism :-|

Otherwise, later tonight :-)

Warm Regards,
Tomas

Kelly Jones - I wish to apologise for not dealing properly with my anger. I'm apologising to people on this board, because it's where I've spread the most disease. If I don't apologise, I think it'll be much harder for me to right things.

Yes, only in my heart do I know the truth. How one handles the "outside world" either makes the rainy or sunny day come about. The vast majority simply "shug it off" (conscience) then go about the task at hand, never giving another thought. However, those select few, retain that "inner drive" to make things right - because I have to sleep at night knowing full well that another day arises with either guilt/innocence looking me in the morning mirror.

There's a great gulf between what I know is true, and what I habitually think, say, and do. It's driving me crazy. I'd just like to be human, not a bullied person or a bully. Yes, it's all very well to wish, but if one doesn't fix things, then it's all hot-air.

Sure. Standing at the rim of a canyon and wishing to get to the other side, but knowing full well - that one must descend into the abyss of humanity and swim the River Styx (that flows thru the bottomest of canyon) - step away from everyone else - then make ones' way up the walls of the canyon to the rim of what you imagined you saw when at the beginning of other side, all the doubt, shame, vain-glory, the hauntings ... you are almost "home".

-Sister Kelly-

One way to look at it is to limit how many threads (haunts of others in the River Styx) one are (plural intended) willing to navigate. As I said earlier, most do not understand "the genius" here, (Dan, Kevin, David) for having Worldly Matters (The Brothel) to sort out those "nagging thoughts" (conscience) that bug "even the best of us" along lifes' journey on this planet Earth.

See ya' later tonite.

"You flatter yourself." Carl
I'm not the one that went to the trouble to post the imitation.
Obviously the one that did thought it was important enough to take the time to do so. That's flattering. S/He obviously thinks I'm more important than I do.

And obviously you think it's important enough to make the comment you have.

Interestingly / revealingly, neither of your comments is a substantive logical refutation of the points I made; at best a weak ridicule.
My posted comment was substantive, and though deliberately attention getting, ultimately constructive and compassionate. The pop. psych. crowd might call it "tough love".

If you & or others would care to post a logical critical analysis / critique, I'd be delighted.

But if you're going to make sear's personality the issue instead of the "Apology" Subject [as listed] how can I be anything but flattered?
In fact, such attention from critics is the most sincere of all. We'd expect attention from sycophants.
But such attention from those opposed; flattering indeed.

Substance!
The subject is "Apology".

Any takers?

I'd be particularly interested in Kelly's perspective on it.
Does she find any of the comments here useful?

What steps has she planned out in this year long self-analytical Odyssey of hers?
How far along is she?
What new insight has her introspection gained her; that will better prepare her for similar circumstance in the future?

You did go through the trouble of insinuating that I was flattering you. That is flattering yourself.
Obviously the one that did thought it was important enough to take the time to do so.
I thought it important to show you a mirror of who you are.
That's flattering. S/He obviously thinks I'm more important than I do.
No, I only think you are more pompous (than you apparently think you are). And your replies here simply reinforce my assessment.
And obviously you think it's important enough to make the comment you have.
I was trying to help you.
Interestingly / revealingly, neither of your comments is a substantive logical refutation of the points I made; at best a weak ridicule.
I disagree. I thought it was incisive and insightful. That you see otherwise is sign that perhaps you are not ready or willing to see yourself.
My posted comment was substantive, and though deliberately attention getting, ultimately constructive and compassionate. The pop. psych. crowd might call it "tough love".
You don't know if it was constructive. Only Kelly can say.

Substantive is neither here nor there; a king-size candy bar is substantive, but fills one with useless calories.

And as for tough love compassion, okay, so was my response to you. But at least mine was in context; I've followed your blockheadedness on other boards, so I knew something of what I was addressing.
If you & or others would care to post a logical critical analysis / critique, I'd be delighted.
Actually, I called you on your lack of logic and critical analysis, but I did so artistically and indirectly, because I thought it may have a better chance of getting through that way, and because it is my nature to do so.

Want it directly? You spoke without context of who Kelly is and what is her history of thinking and posting. That's being a blockhead.
But if you're going to make sear's personality the issue instead of the "Apology" Subject [as listed] how can I be anything but flattered?
Because you're goofy in the head?
In fact, such attention from critics is the most sincere of all. We'd expect attention from sycophants.
But such attention from those opposed; flattering indeed.
I rest my case.
