andymonk,
If you relax(sit three feet away from the screen)and let the flower slowly draw your eyes out of focus, the flower will open. Try and not focus on any one point, blankly stare, take the flower in as a whole. Do not strain your eyes,it will happen naturally. We do not see with our eyes,we see THROUGH our eyes.
Hey, the circle thingamajig is like one of those magic eye things! Y'know, like in those books where you could cross your eyes to see a dolphin. Except, uh, without any dolphin in it. Bad news dude. Folks who don't have stereo vision can't see your magic flower go all crazy 3d.

andymonk, as you can see, there is a considerable bias toward the more rational parts of spirituality here. Staring at pictures is considered more imaginative than spiritual, whereas reading a text by Nietzsche or Plato is considered worthy of praise (since only few people in their lives will ever bother to read something so obscure).

What you have presented is something that -- by your arguments -- is considered about as impressive as an artistic discovery (such as a magic eye, studies in perspective, etc.)

You may need a stronger argument if you are going to claim there is as much wisdom contained in the flower of life as there is in the clear prose of a philosopher -- you have a considerable prejudice to overcome, and you may need to put effort into it.

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorists, why wouldn't anyone hide this flower?

You've stated that it's so important, and that you can see 3D images in it, but I don't see how seeing the flower unfold tells you anything about life or reality. Though personaly I do enjoy optical illusions, I don't sense much important in them or this flower. You seem to be more enamored by it's mystery than enlightened by it, as nothing insightful has come of it.

I'd say that people's vision worked very much the same in every ancient culture as well as today, that mathematics is universal, that people enjoy optical illusions, which are not manmade, they are the results of the flaws in our visual system, and man only manipulates them to come up with pretty designs today.

How on earth does this relate to universal conciousness. Unless you mean universal geometry, geometry is universal. This seems like it has more to do with how we visualize geometric forms, than any thing else.

Sorry, but that's just how I see it.

And I think this whole thread proves that secret societies aren't keeping the flower a secret, there's nothing in the flower that warrants secretiveness, there's no motive.

The flower is beautiful, historical, and interesting to look at. Just don't get carried away with it.

Sorry, but the complete flower of life is not an optical illusion. Do you not find it strange that egyptologists and archaeologists wont give a date for the flower, considering "the osireion" is the oldest building in egypt? http://www.users.bigpond.com/MSN/gary_f ... reion.html http://www.grahamhancock.com/library/fotg/c45-5.htm

You're missing the point, how old something is does not equate to how important it is.
Why is the flower important? What is the meaning you gain from the flower? What essential question does it help you answer? How is it an answer? 42 is just as good an answer, I don't see any difference

It IS an optical illusion. It's a two dimensional drawing that when looked at reveals three dimensional forms. How does that not constitute an optical illusion?

This may be of interest. I believe, the symbol on this knights templar tombstone(link1),found in the st magnus cathedral,kirkwall,orkney,scotland(link2),is a representation of the egg of life(sacred geometry,link3),which is found within the first layer of the complete flower of life. Any opinions? :) http://bennerfarms.com/dutch/Crusades/StMagnus.jpg http://www.orkneyjar.com/history/stmagnus/cathedral.jpg http://www.mendhak.com/paranormal/paras ... try_14.jpg

Ibelieve, sacred geometry is much older than any known religion. The symbols of all religions can be found within the complete ancient flower of life. Does anyone know which religious figure used this symbol,as an emblem for him and his followers? ;) http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/dp5/piscis.jpg

Unlike other mandala, the complete ancient flower of life has no design, measurement or straight lines. The complete flower grows organically from the first circle onwards,it draws itself. This is one of the reasons why the flower is called the creation mandala. I forgot to add...... the flower should be contemplated in darkness, only have the computer on,no lights.

andymonk on another of his periodic reappearances to hawk his website, and plead with Genius folk to accept the venerable and ancient Flower symbol, which should be contemplated only by the light of your sacred computer screen.

Stephen Wolfram has an interesting review on these nested and repetitive patterns. He argues that a more advanced pattern would have been: this one but cannot be found in ancient art.

But I wasn't condemning you, and I did investigate! (In fact my wife probably spent ten minutes staring at the Flower of Life waiting for it to "unfold.") I do think you're seeing more than really is there because you would dearly like to, but your posts were nonetheless very entertaining.

And that is what you have done to us. You condemned us to ignorance after failing to get to know us.

You pretty much harp on one issue here, which kind of makes you a spammer. I'm willing to ignore that, if you answer my questions, which you sort of have done. But frankly, I'm not impressed with you, so far. As for the flower, I am already well aware of it's antiquity and potential significance, which is probably not as great as you think it is. The flower image is simply one possible tool to aid one to greater understanding.

P.S. The computer thing was hilarious. I mean, how did the ancients successfully contemplate that sucker without one. One of the great mysteries of all time?

P.S.P.S. What do you think of crop circles?

I like to give everything a chance. Information is either useful or not. I'm not going to bash this thread. I am going to look at the shape. If I ever think of something useful to say about it, I will post about it. Although I must say that all of the shapes are completely different.

EDIT: Personally got no information from it at all. It looks way too complex to be a shape associated with life, because life starts of really simple. So I think what we have here is a shape which inspires artistic people into thinking that they are looking at science, or nature. Maybe it does contain the shape of a flower, some cubes, some circles, but I could probably draw something that really grabs your attention, I could improve the shape significantly if I wanted to.

This post is actually way more interesting than it looks. I've built the complete thing I think. It has amazing properties. How did you discover it?

Your picture is far from accurate. Just the middle section is accurate.

Anyone reading this will not understand, but you do have to actually look at this shape. it took me ages to find this out, and you can't tell someone what it means, they have to find it themselves.
