Life.
Is there Energy in dead matter?
In all matter. If there can even be said that there is such a thing as matter.
Does Energy differ in humans?
No, not intrinsically, but yes, practically, according to the quality of energy flow in and around them, energy blockages, and such.
Is Iron a source of Energy?
The source of all energy is The All.

Energy is but one of the five fundamental elements that make up the physical world (i.e., space, time, mass, energy and motion), and as these five elements are interdependent and complementary, we can define a particular element only in terms of the other four; for example, E=mC2.

To me, energy would be a wasp in a balloon bashing its head against the sides for all eternity. It can still sting you through the balloon, it could even escape, and it can vibrate the balloon, and cause a wave. Lots of mad wasps in the balloons gathered together could sting you to death. As the balloons vibrate they change colour from Black, to Red, all the way through the rainbow to white. So that's what I think it is.

Energy is comprised of potential difference between two states. ;-)
