what is of worth in this world?

Post by Ryan Rudolph »

What is of worth in this world?

Is there anything of any value?

Does a wise man value anything?

It is an intelligent statement to suggest that most human pursuits are vain and meaningless?

I would like to hear from you because perhaps this old boy has grown a little too nihilistic?

Is complete nihilism the only path to truth?

Jesus suggested that the gate to heaven is very narrow, what did he mean by that?

Only what you choose to value.

Does a wise man value anything?
Truth and wisdom.

It is an intelligent statement to suggest that most human pursuits are vain and meaningless?
Most human pursuits are selfish, and short-sighted, so they necessarily have relatively little or no meaning. This would be a bad thing if you valued selflessness and meaning.

I would like to hear from you because perhaps this old boy has grown a little too nihilistic?

Is complete nihilism the only path to truth?
A true nihilist wouldn't value his nihilism, so he would cease to be a nihilist. But he could only do this if he puts value on truth. There's no way around putting value on something.
Jesus suggested that the gate to heaven is very narrow, what did he mean by that?
There are many ways to side-step the Truth, but there is only one way to accept it.

There's only one way to give away all of your money, but there's lots of ways you can hide some of it away and hoard it.

Define "worth" and you will find out yourself.
Is there anything of any value?
see above.
Does a wise man value anything?
Depends who is this "wise man" the people who are commonly known as "wise man" valued the togas and sandals, could there be a clue there?
It is an intelligent statement to suggest that most human pursuits are vain and meaningless?
I will tell you when you die.
I would like to hear from you because perhaps this old boy has grown a little too nihilistic?
so you are afraid to become something and want somone to tell you what you should be? You sure you are old? and a boy? well ok, stop being so ego centred and neurotic about yourself. Stop talking in absolutes that end with (ism)(nihilism, fashism, comunism, budism, spiritalism, islamism, moralism, taoism, atheism etc) and just BE. Your pathetic atemts at pretending to be someting else look foolish to me. (yes i can see the irony of motivating you with that statement)
Is complete nihilism the only path to truth?
I would say no, but then again what do i know?
Jesus suggested that the gate to heaven is very narrow, what did he mean by that?
and joe said santa comes down the chimney, maybe they ment the same thing? I'll ask joe and get back to you on that one.
The philosophy is the wit gets wittier and the twit gets twittier!
I saw this and thought this post. heh, hope that is not true in your case :P If i thought you are lost cause i would not reply to your posts so don't dispair too much even though they say pain is the best teacher :)
It's just a ride.

those 2 are the same question and there is no such a thing as universal value to things. you decide.
Does a wise man value anything?
too vague to give a definite answer
It is an intelligent statement to suggest that most human pursuits are vain and meaningless?
its not too stupid
how about all human pursuits?
i like the paradox here
I would like to hear from you because perhaps this old boy has grown a little too nihilistic?
not really
Is complete nihilism the only path to truth?
i dont see if i should call something a path!

Narrow gate: Its tough to reach Truth, if it was easy you're not there, don't use an easy way (ex: natural-way), learn from an oddball with little following.

Life has value, is value, and gives all else value.
A wise person values everything as a reflection of life.
No human pursuits are of themselves vain and meaningless because their pursuit is evidence of life.
There now, no one can get too little of nothingness.
Nihilism is not a path to truth; it is a path to nothingness, and truth is less than nothing. Get off the main drag. Take the scenic route.
Jesus meant that you can come, but you have to leave the wide glide Harley in the here and now. Don't worry, it will sell.

The above statement by myself was actually posed in a way, which would create controversary. I deliberatly invested ego into it.... but you had to see right through it didnt you? you wont let me have any fun will you?

Stop being so selfish, and allow me to delude others by projecting a false image that isnt really there....

and in terms of isms. its my post and I'll use isms if I want to, you would use isms too, if my life was opposed on you.... Come on, everyone sing along....

Anyway, very intelligent post. I cannot refute any of this.
