West and east:

Post by jupta »

The similarity between western and eastern culture, is that both of them are feminine.

The difference is that, in the west, the feminine is uncontrolled. This is probably because the west has little or no awareness of it. In all the hustle and bustle of progress, the west has forgotten to restrain the feminine aspect of themselves. Thus, it ran amok. In America, this release of the feminine is newer than that in Europe. One may say that childbirth is low, so the feminine, which concentrates on childbirth, is not present to the extent that it is in the east. To this, I would say that the west concentrates as much on sex and sexuality as the east, if not more. Sex is basically the same as childbirth - like the black side of a black and white ball. The west has only blocked out the childbirth aspect of it to an extent. This has in no way diminished the feminine in that culture. Rather, it has created an incredibly insane situation, probably even more insane than that in the east.

In the east, the feminine is more suppressed. This is because the east has a greater knowledge of the nature of the feminine. But this suppression has resulted in the feminine becoming stronger within it. There is no drive for philosophical growth. Just a fake sense of rejuvenation - the result of aping the west - stimulated by the recent economic boost. The degree of this of course varies with the different cultures in the east. Where I live, in India, this is the case. In Indochina and China also, it's more or less the same. As also in Indonesia. Japan is probably a bit different, owing to its being separated from the Asiatic landmass. The Middle East has a higher degree of suppression of the feminine, resulting in its being even more feminine than the rest of the east.

However, the west is not blamed and harassed as much as the east for its attributes. This is due to the west being so flexible. If any one of its ideas or philosophies is opposed or is unsuitable at any particular time, another, better idea/philosophy is presented, nullifying the former. However, the basic idea remains - flexibility. The feminine at work!

The east is also more or less flexible, as it has accepted so much of the west. But that is superficial. Inherently it stays rigid, and keeps on clinging to its traditions. Again - the feminine at work!

It depends on how you define east. If we are referring to the asian and indian cultures, I would say that the west is more conscious and aware in many ways. Most Asian cultures continue to treat women very poorly, almost worst than animals. Women are abused and treated like invaluable property, while western men have more respect for women's rights than most of the eastern world. The east also has many absurd traditions that encourage women to have large numbers children, while the west has a better tradition of family planning. The west also has a longer tradition of relying on science and technology to solve problems, while the east is currently playing catch up.

However, western corporations have done more environmental damage on a global scale, but China and other eastern countries are ignoring the industrial wastes that are destroying their own nations, as a means to catch up to the west.
