Alien Abduction Experiences ?
Alien Abduction Experiences ?
In 1971-72 i was stationed at Sandia Army Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico.....
i never thought about UFO's or aliens...
it was in a "dream"....
i was laying on a stone slab...
surounded by hooded beings...
they told me telepathically "Don't worry...everything will be O.K. "
that's all i remember...
later on that day i walked past a room that had a t.v. on... and heard on the news about a UFO that was sighted in the area (the night of my "dream")....
i never spoke about it to anyone...until about 20 years later.....
i've had a few more "dreams" in the past 20 years...but none since menopause.....
What do you think ?

i hope this isn't boring you...
i thought i'd put this link for a reference...

there's a lot of interesting information on this subject
since my experiences i've read dozens of books on alien abduction...
my favorite movies are about this subject matter...
i haven't talked about it for a long time...
i guess i'm burned out with talking about buddhism....lol
as far back as i can remember i have wanted to know the truth about life...
but it seems like the truth does not want to be known... (?)
or you have to be a genius to be qualified to know the truth...... (?)

Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
The subject of aliens is regularly ridiculed here at Genius. The possibility of aliens visiting earth is discounted completely. I don't know why, it just is.
So, clearly your experience was just the product of your vivid imagination. You've created a fantasy because you just can't hack reality the way it is.

Of course.
That's what the aliens want them to say.
The less people know the truth.... the better.
It makes perfect sense to hide the truth.
People can't handle it.
Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
I have never seen any convincing evidence of aliens visiting earth, so I can't support anyone who says that they did with certainty, without producing any convincing evidence. However, I definitely won't say that it is *impossible*, and neither would any other wise man.Carl G wrote:The subject of aliens is regularly ridiculed here at Genius. Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
I have seen unidentified flying objects, but that's only because I couldn't identify them.
Its possible you were in a rather realistic dream state without being aware of the fact that it was a dream. That's usually what dreams are like unless they are "lucid", a deeper self-representation a sense of being-a-self-dreaming. You may have felt like being-a-self however and had a vivid representation of events unlike normal dream states. With a particularly vivid realness to the dream I could see this being sufficient to suppress awareness of dreaming.
In my own experience dreams vary in attentional and cognitive availability as well as phenomenal intensity. I've never had such an intense dream but I don't recall dreams vary much at all. Once every several months perhaps. As of right now I haven't recalled a dream for at least 6 months. I don't know what implications that has, whether or not dreaming is a good thing, I don't miss it though.

Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
Direct evidence, i.e, evidence like an actual spacecraft, or a convincing video of aliens, or something written by aliens that has something in it to show that only the aliens could have written it. In short - any evidence that leaves very little/no room for speculation and imagination.Carl G wrote:What would constitute convincing evidence for you. Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
Any of that can be convincingly faked. And the people in black projects, with that sort of evidence, don't care what you think. However there are many whistleblowers who have corroborated that such evidence exists. The weight of multiple corroborations does carry some weight with me, although I realize that this is second-hand or circumstantial evidence and is not direct. Aside, some of the ancient stone work on earth does seems to me possibly direct evidence.
Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
i find it more incredible that innocent children are abducted/raped /murdered by "human beings"
i imagine if there are beings besides us in this univerese...they could be BILLIONS of years ahead of us....
your little intellectual discussions are primitive non-sense to higher civilizations....
the truth is not arrogant
seems to be arrogance is based on deep feelings of inferiority & fear
the evidence is overwhelming to support the fact that beings from other solar systems have been around for a long time
ignorance is a disease of a closed mind.

Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
If a truly advanced extraterrestrial civilization discovered our planet and our species, there are only three reasonable outcomes.
1. (the most unlikely outcome)They would quickly and efficiently transform our species into one that is advanced as theirs. That means they would not waste their time doing this by working with secret government programs and other bureaucracies because they would be advanced enough to deal with any possible set of problems on their own. Chances are we wouldn't have been the first species they transformed so they would already have a vast amount of experience doing this and have nothing to gain by carrying this out in shroud. In fact, it would be a very open and honest process, and if humans went bat-shit crazy for whatever reason, they could use their superior technology to disarm us and directly transfer their thoughts into our mind so each and every one of us has a crystal clear idea of their intentions, or more likely they could simply sedate us and quickly reprogram our minds so we are as rational and intelligent as them. Like I said, we probably wouldn't be the first species they've done this to, so they would be anticipating every possible outcome and they would certainly be smart and advanced enough to have a complete understanding of our history and current state of affairs.
The reason this is the most unlikely choice is because it wouldn't be worth the effort of trying to work with a species that is flawed to begin with. It would be easier to just create beings from the ground up who are already supremely wise and intelligent. The problem with this is that there would be no point in creating or transforming more beings in the first place if you already have your own species which is wise, incredibly intelligent, and are able to live indefinitely. Again, not likely which is why I think the following two options are more likely than this one.
2. (the second most likely outcome) They would eradicate us for being vastly inferior and would not want to run the risk of having us fuck up other planets if we develop the technology for interstellar travel.
3. (the most likely outcome) They would ignore us because we simply would not be that interesting to them. Obviously an advanced extraterrestrial civilization would have already mastered nano-technology, bio-technology, and all other forms of technology, so it would be a complete waste of time for them study, analyze, or pay any kind of attention to us. We simply have nothing to offer them, and wouldn't be anything more than a bore. Since outcomes 1 and 2 haven't happened, we have either never been discovered or we wont know if advanced extra-terrestrials exist unless we survive long enough to become as advanced as them. The way things are going right now, there's a higher chance of us not surviving long enough to become advanced enough to do that, so it appears we are destined to never make contact.
So for all you people who think aliens are experimenting on us, observing us, working with secret government programs to (insert conspiracy theory here), get over yourself! You're not that big of a deal, you're actually extremely mundane and boring! If you want to know how I know all of this, it's because I myself am a superior being, and all superior beings think alike.

Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
Why on earth would you conclude that those are the only three "reasonable" options from an alien point of view? They could enslave us, or they could merely observe us. There could be opposing alien cultures, too, which would create disagreement as to what to do with us. There are any number of scenarios. I do appreciate your thought-out post, though.
I disagree, however, that there's no chance we have anything that would interest them. We have DNA (our mighty fine earth women!), we have our emotions (which some of them may lack), and we have our resources (minerals, etc).

We have everything we need. There is nothing to gain by enslaving you.

Culture is obsolete when you become this advanced. There is no conflict. We are all in sync.
No. Only the three I listed above.Carl G wrote:There are any number of scenarios. I do appreciate your thought-out post, though.

Re: Alien Abduction Experiences ?
Not by me. What I discount (or more accurately: see as silly) is the notion that the relevant scientists/professionals would care to "cover up" any events involving Alien visitations or primitive life on planets like Mars. My impression is that virtually any professional who studies phenomena outside our planet would be delighted to share any shred of evidence that there are advanced or primitive forms of life elsewhere beyond earth. The way I see it, the teams we have studying mars, if anything, are overly eager to believe that what they find implicates life. They all have a life fetish as far as I can tell. Jones'n to find life.Carl G wrote:The subject of aliens is regularly ridiculed here at Genius. The possibility of aliens visiting earth is discounted completely.
I remember when I was 10, I was really eager to believe that there were those "hover boards" from that back to the future movie. I believed that the technology was ready and available, but "the parents" and the "the government" were working together to suppress the technology because they thought it was dangerous. Nobody taught me to think like this, to demonize the parents and government...it just came natural. I just wanted to believe in something amazing, and because that amazing thing wasn't tangible for me, I blamed it on people who were more powerful than me. I guess it must be instinctive or something. That's just what a lot of kids do.
I was the same way about Aliens. I was very excited whenever I heard anything to do with the possibility of Aliens. And yes, I naturally singled out "the big bad government" as a culprit in suppressing "the Truth."
But as you grow and become more introspective and mature, you learn about how natural it is to blame others for not having your fantasies fulfilled, you learn about the people who actually study the cosmos professionally, you read their books, you stand in awe of their intellect and interesting lives, and then, on the other hand.....you notice these fringe lunatics, you notice how reckless they come to conclusions, how they read something on the internet or some book and instantly believe it, you notice these conclusions are always very elating to the ego, and with these elating beliefs, there are usually these overly sinister and cartoonish plots about world domination.
You start realize, some people are fucking nuts.

If aliens were here, it would be obvious.
Conspiracies are almost always false.
You gotta love these people who believe the US government or any government in the world for that matter is capable of hiding an alien race from the populous. As Nick said, an advanced alien race wouldn't need a government to conceal themselves, and they wouldn't want to conceal themselves anyway.
The movie Distinct nine is a good example of what people long to believe because their imaginations are so bored with reality. They crave exciting falsehoods. Actually, that would make a decent quote:
"The main problem with humanity is that they crave continuous exciting falsehoods, and the imagination is never satisfied with just one, it needs many, in fact it will create systems of exciting falsehoods, and that complicated neural web of exciting falsehoods is in fact, the ego"

They are not false, by definition. A thing is itself. Your statement is false. Oh, you mean conspiracy theories. Again, what makes you sure?Conspiracies are almost always false.
I gotta love people who believe what you just wrote. Government is a two-tiered operation. The top tier operates in secrecy and is fairly competent. Ever hear of government black budgets and black projects? Secret societies like Council on Foreign Relations and Bilderbergers? They happen to be vast, extremely advanced, and interconnected worldwide. The lower tier is the publicly known bureaucracy headed by a country's current spokespresident. This is the bumbling apparatus we all know and love, but it is just for show. And its bumbliness is part of the show. You gotta love these people who believe the US government or any government in the world for that matter is capable of hiding an alien race from the populous.
How the hell do you know what it would or wouldn't want or need? This sort of unscientific claptrap is part of what gives the cause of skepticism a bad name.As Nick said, an advanced alien race wouldn't need a government to conceal themselves, and they wouldn't want to conceal themselves anyway.
You and Cory and Nick ought to take this simplistic song and dance on the road.
