I came across this article on another list composed predominantly of White dullards (just joshing, people). I thought I would submit it to your scrutiny. I thought---I could be wrong---that it might stimulate intelligent, civil, courteous discourse.
I am overawed sometimes by the degree that discourses battle discourses, narratives set themselves up in perpetual battle with other narratives, and everyone has a point of view to polish, to hone, to purvey. Why do I have the sense that all this opinionism is spinning out of control? Is it possible to get to the bottom of anything? Is it possible to come to understand anything?

All who read this - don't waste your time clicking the link - an absolute waste of electricity. Save the fossil fuel $$$ for the courteous passerby on the street, take 'em out for a strawberry malt and burger.

Don't get on the Internet, sell your TVs, cancel your subscriptions to the magazines etc. stop attending all religious functions.
What to do?- hang out at the local zoo and commune with the animals.

Information overload. That said, as long as you can take a leak and wipe your own ass... you'll be alright and good to go.

Re: Battle of the World Views
I don't believe at all that he thinks his views, so carefully crafted, are dupery. I suppose he thinks he is revealing intimate secrets little known, and is enlightening his audience, whoever they are. Also, that world view is having a major impact on the way the world is being molded right now. Additionally, even if one doesn't agree with his views, believing that other forces are molding the planet, or there are other important factors to consider, I don't think it disqualifies some of the information he presents. If it is not completely like that it might be partially like that. Also, an exclamation at the complexity of world-views and how they struggle for supremacy, is not to say that one should recoil from consideration of these issues (selling the TV, etc.) but that one should grapple with it. And who is this Pete you refer to?
