Stop asking so many questions with "how" or "why" about the bigger picture, I don't know how or why, do you know the how and why of your existence?
Yes, there are so many sheep with similar views to me about the universe being an illusion of consciousness and so forth, which herd exactly am I following? Point someone out with similar ideas haha I would love to meet one for the first time
Like asking how did that door in the dream get there? Then the wizard behind you answers, "I summoned it".
You get a made up answer, because your question doesn't have real meaning, the "how did this get here" is the problem, assigning a past to everything you see... creating the distinction that your waking state is "more real" then your dream state. It just is, forget trying to rationalize a how it won't work.
That part is the path of enlightenment, if we were wiser we would trade more of our time for meditation,
The other metaphysical and philosophical part is the discussion of the nature of ultimate reality.... I am aware how impractical talking about it with language is but none the less that's what everyone will continue to do, you were just discussing with me about illusion before, why are you on here if your mr.practical?
It is not that hard to give someone a glimpse of the true nature of reality, and when it happens, even if that person is not aware consciuosly that it has happened, it is a wonderous [and potentially frightening] thing. I have brought every member of my family [except my daughter who is not ready] to this moment - my husband more than once - simply by making them aware that when they are not thinking, all the usual frames of reference disappear, but they [their awareness] doesn't disappear. I remember one specific incident when my son experienced that silence of something that is no-thing and I asked him "can you see now that although you know me as your mother that I am not, in truth a mother at all, but for the sake of communication, I call you Jason and you call me Mom?" I can still see his face of pure wonder at catching the truth of what I was saying. The moment didn't last long and he didn't want to go any deeper [fear] but I knew that a wisdom seed had been planted, one that he may or may not water in the future.
Each time my husband has caught a glimpse of his own impermance and emtpiness, which has been maybe three or four times in our marriage of 37 years, he is wonderstruck, but always, when the moment is over, he says to me, "That was cool, but I don't want to go 'there.'"
Dennis mentioned the shock a mother has when she first realizes her children are but causal appearances. This happened to my sister one day when she caught a glimpse of what I was saying and her first reaction was "you mean my children are not actually there?" Her initial shock is over, and since that day, she and I have had several fruitful and delightfully humerous conversations about the awakening process.
For the moment of awakening to be fruitful and not end up sending someone down the path of nihilism, the student must be ready to hear what the teacher has to offer; as well, trust between both is absolutely imperative.
Again, this would be based on assigning one person "teacher" status, how do we know who should be teacher and who should be student, because of age? Everyone of age is of greater wisdom then?
You said yourself it has to be a two way conversation, teaching and learning, the only thing is you aren't clear on what it is you are trying to teach:
Some questions,
Are the cognitive process of the brain creating conscious thought?
If I killed you would you still be experiencing sensual "life"?
And do you assign "more reality" to the objects you see in your waking state compared to the one's in your dream state? ( In a dream there is nothing behind the door until you look)
Consistency of sensual experiences... massive leap.... there must be some imaginary world outside of observation! Otherwise how could it be complex, consistent, convincing?
Can't answer those questions can you? You have your own opinion on the subjects, which is relevant to your teachings, but you wouldn't go there, instead you will call other people's ideas false but not provide your own alternative
You are clearly the guru dennis, all you do is act guru, teaching while avoiding answering any questions to show if you actually have anything good to teach or are just telling people they are wrong without an alternative...
Or are you like the buddha, your wisdom is like all the leaves in the forest so you couldn't share your opinion without mindphucking me too hard? Why not just answer the simple questions? Do you assign "more reality" to your waking state then your dream state? ( Tree with growth rings in dream didn't need to grow there, tree in waking state did grow there and stays there when your gone, aka, more reality)
Relevant ideas, much more interesting if I'm right don't you think? You have assumed I'm wrong, but if I am right, then the majority of people on this forum (and the large majority of people in the world) have completely misinterpreted reality the way the average person does, distinguishing between experiences, assigning these objects as "more real" then the others.
This has only become not interesting because I've been debating with you about the same things for hundreds of comments hahah, I should have warned you earlier that I wouldn't be the one to end it or ever stop and that you had to, my bad
Let's never talk about anything we disagree on again dennis because that was driving me insane too, seeing as we were acting insane, we were just repeating the same things expecting different results
