Carl,
You and Cory and Nick ought to take this simplistic song and dance on the road. It's almost entertaining.
what is entertaining Carl is you clinging on to your addiction: namely conspiracies.

And as far as the council of foreign relations: most members are pretty dry, mediocre individuals. If you study the opinion of many of the members, its nothing all that surprising.

And sure, there is a group of people who would like to have a one world government. However, if you had rational people with decent values, then a one world government wouldn't be so bad. You would have less rogue states like North Korea, Iran and so on. A one world government would starve pockets of dictatorships and backward thinking regimes such as the Taliban.

The world must operate according to a hierarchy of power and control, this is the only way the system can function at this time. The working class is too weak to be free. They need vice, control, and material ambition. The working class hate people in power, but they would take that power in a second, and make the same stupid mistakes. Take their ambitions away, and you have a society of sages, which isn't going to happen probably for hundreds of years, if it happens at all.

A one world government might actually be a decent political structure for a world of sages to inherit. Wise elders could monitor population numbers, environmental pollution, and ultimately have adequate control over what ignorance is left in the world. Not a bad idea actually, if the leaders were wise.

WHAT WOULD IT TAKE FOR AN INTELLIGENT SKEPTIC TO REALIZE THIS EARTH HAS BEEN
VISITED BY SPECIES FROM OTHER WORLDS ?

SERIOUSLY...WHAT WOULD YOU NEED AS PROOF ?

If you or Carl here on this forum openly starts doubting your beliefs which you take as granted by word of mouth alone: or stop confusing mountains of anecdotal evidence with one verified fact.

Because if that would happen it will be like an alien took over your mind or it would be a trick, a deception to make us think you changed while you actually didn't.

And if that could happen with you, it would change much of my hard-nosed cynicism indeed!

Aliens have either visited us, or they haven't. I don't think you gain anything from knowing which it is. It's not useful knowledge, you can't use it to gain any ground, it has no spark to it. Their messages however contain some useful information... even if they were made by men.

To some degree I'm with Carl here. Conspiracies are ingrained into human organization. It goes under different names but it comes down to the experimental fact that not much is done when there's no backroom talking and deal making, some unspoken agenda being played out. It's not necessarily having to be sinister: what to one is mainly secrecy and bending or manipulating rusty rules, can look sinister to another.

Anyone who ever actually had any real responsibility over a large group or has been trying to get something done in larger governmental or commercial organizations understands the above. It's how things are done. The question is only how far one takes it or how many lines are crossed in the process.
Secret societies like Council on Foreign Relations and Bilderbergers? They happen to be vast, extremely advanced, and interconnected worldwide.
They're not really secret, are they, just very private. And if they were not networking efficiently they wouldn't exist at all. It's what they are: interconnections, informal webs of power. But that's how power works behind all the scenes, not only in various "secret societies".

Now where is the evidence these people have anything to do with organizing 9/11 or the financial collapse? Just the notion that they are interested in steering the world in certain directions is not something to be surprised about. Actually, they should be complimented for it, at least they are putting their "Grand Schemes", no matter the flaw, into action, into real influence. Something to aspire to.

Or to bark at with ressentiment, the revenge of mob mentality set free!

If nothing is gained it's hardly knowledge. Perhaps more like a belief then?

Anyway, there are many grey areas, maybe fifty-one or so, that you're forgetting to probe here. Aliens perhaps do not visit but were already here before us. Or perhaps there's an intra-dimensional element that makes it unclear who is visiting who, a la Vallee's Dimensons or the late Mac Tonnies Cryptoterrestrials. Or aliens are like Jung's "manifestations of the subconscious" that even make it into "events" that could be witnessed and measured at times. So we'd be visiting ourselves.

There is evidence of them causing 9/11, but it doesn't mean that it's the only option.

Well for a start, using real identifying tags like Cryptoterrestrials, means that they have a distinguishing feature. This already has swayed them towards true in your neurons. You should omit such terms. Grey is acceptable because it is descriptive without adding credence.

No, there are, in fact five very distinct well reasoned out possibilities with only one of them resembling the official story. It doesn't mean there are not other options though :-)

It's not my term but from Mac Tonnies as I indicated. Aren't you hindered by any knowledge on the topic whatsoever?

I'm don't find it important to know if they have been here. I would probably find it a bit more important if they had been in my local Tescos. But maybe it's because I could question people about it.

This video has a lot going for it that it's real...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQoJ5Qbjx_4

1/ Amazing UFO
2/ Amazing sound effects
3/ Very expensive to use a helicopter

but this is the most amazing thing....

4/ The real Brain Teaser......

The towers are standing!

A/ To do this in advance of the towers falling, you would have to know in advance that they were going to be hit by planes.

B/ Or else you made this fake video, and strangely a coincidence happened that they were hit by planes.

C/ You made some really perfect fake Twin Towers, and a sick joke?

i would love to doubt my beliefs about how i think all this is true...it would be so nice to think we have this planet to ourselves with no fear of another race of beings manipulating us here....

i would love to be throughly convienced and relieved of knowing this could/would never happen.

but look at the pictures from the Hubble telescope...
it's unimaginable the infinate amount of gallexies...
the unfathomable amount of space out there....
the possiblities of life evolving on other planets
and the possibility of advanced forms of life that have the capabilites
to travel in space and come here
far outweigh the impossibilies.

i think it's more possible than impossible
considering the fact that we know
there are zillions of stars and gallexies
and planets and solar systems
and where does space end ??????

but i am not a genius
so i don't know how to think like one
so with your genius mind please help
me to understand how this is impossible.

i say this with all sincerity.

Moses' Cloud. By breaking down the life of Moses into twelve sections, it can be seen
that Moses was a sun hero whose life tracks the constellations of the Zodiac.

in your own words...what are you trying to say ?

i think the bible has been tampered with
the story of Genisis (for example) is a fairy tale
i do prefer scientific facts

there are scientific facts pertaining to the U.S Government
Storaging of alien aircraft & knowing of extraterrestial life
and having contact with them
there are documents and eye witnesses in the military
that have been silenced for years comming out into
the public revealing the truth.

some men have died because they dared to speak the truth about this.

just because you do not see/know the scientific proof dosn't mean it dosn't exist.

Big if. Currently they're not. We're stuck with the likes of Tony Blair, the Bushes, the Goldman Sachs Gang, the Rockefellers, and the Rothschilds. Heaven help us.

Not by me. What I discount (or more accurately: see as silly) is the notion that the relevant scientists/professionals would care to "cover up" any events involving Alien visitations or primitive life on planets like Mars. My impression is that virtually any professional who studies phenomena outside our planet would be delighted to share any shred of evidence that there are advanced or primitive forms of life elsewhere beyond earth. The way I see it, the teams we have studying mars, if anything, are overly eager to believe that what they find implicates life. They all have a life fetish as far as I can tell. Jones'n to find life.

I remember when I was 10, I was really eager to believe that there were those "hover boards" from that back to the future movie. I believed that the technology was ready and available, but "the parents" and the "the government" were working together to suppress the technology because they thought it was dangerous. Nobody taught me to think like this, to demonize the parents and government...it just came natural. I just wanted to believe in something amazing, and because that amazing thing wasn't tangible for me, I blamed it on people who were more powerful than me. I guess it must be instinctive or something. That's just what a lot of kids do.

I was the same way about Aliens. I was very excited whenever I heard anything to do with the possibility of Aliens. And yes, I naturally singled out "the big bad government" as a culprit in suppressing "the Truth."

But as you grow and become more introspective and mature, you learn about how natural it is to blame others for not having your fantasies fulfilled, you learn about the people who actually study the cosmos professionally, you read their books, you stand in awe of their intellect and interesting lives, and then, on the other hand.....you notice these fringe lunatics, you notice how reckless they come to conclusions, how they read something on the internet or some book and instantly believe it, you notice these conclusions are always very elating to the ego, and with these elating beliefs, there are usually these overly sinister and cartoonish plots about world domination.

You start realize, some people are fucking nuts.

Urantia? Really? Really?

There is a tendancy to think something that's really complicated can't just be a bunch of bullshit someone made up. It's the same principle that the Catholic Church lives on.

And yet, there it is, it's just a bunch of bullshit someone made up.

You're giving it too much credit, Hodges, it would take almost a genius to make all that up by oneself. It's made up more probably by a group of people, well read on a lot of more obscure literature around the same topics. So a group of minds relaying a glittering mix of bullshit and traditional but re-wrapped insights. Works like a charm every time!

One could define the whole of popular religion that way, or at least the better Hollywood scriptwriters. And actually I do not object to it at all. It's the way we replicate our ideas and communicate something about who we are. It cannot be stopped.
