Isn't this to be expected on this forum, considering its mission statement? It's not "discussion of the utility and finer points of the endless library of perennial philosophy and christian cosmologies" after all.

The forum introduction suggests a tat dramatically the more bloodied and dangerous and "deliberately causing pain to the ego, both in oneself and in others", "challenging and overturning our cosy assumptions, habitual thought-processes, psychological refuges and mental blocks". This is why topics about the feminine are such a regular hit as they fulfil simply the purpose of the forum so well.

While it can be interesting to bring up books and theories at times, if the purpose is not to challenge a refuge, to cause upset, confusion or pain, then why not stick to Worldly Matters where the purpose is not important at all. By insisting to discuss items to "improve one's conception of reality", adding to knowledge structure and causing some more "satisfying view of life" (Gestefeld), all referring to some hypothesis and cosmology, one begs to be asked about character, blocks, motivation and all which causes one not to understand this one simple point that has flew wide over one's head.

GF simply has a history of dysfunction in this area (the personal) that will likely never get better.

I think that when one establishes an environment where the stated purpose is to 'cause pain to the ego', 'challenge cosy assumptions', and all the rest, one has to accept that it will rarely be pretty?

Maybe, Dennis, you should spend less time monitoring my posts and my persona and simply start to express your ideas?

I think that what she meant is that small-minded people talk about...gossip, celebrities, the people next door and what they do and don't do.
Great minds discuss ideas which average minds put into action and small minds pay for through taxes.
