Oddly enough I kept looking around to see if there WERE a woman reading the same book (it has a red and yellow cover illustrated with a detail from the 1997 painting "The Billy Boys" by Jack Vettriano). I ordered coffee, croissants, sat and read my book, sipped coffee.
And then something really weird happened.
She came up to my table and looked straight at me. Her eyes glowed with the energy of pure consciousness and it was like luminous fingers reaching down deep inside of me. She 'hooked' me with her eyes.
---Me puedes regalar un pedacito de tu croissant?---she asked very sweetly and with exaggerated Latin politeness.
And I knew that if I said yes and gave it to her that nothing would be the same for me, ever.
There is more, much more. Since this morning---what? four hours?---I have lived events of about a month. I'll tell it as it occurred.
You have a good storyline going for a book. Let's hope the child is an innocent one (in this story) and you leave her that way. I don't know what the legal age of consent is considering your predilection is for hooker-type girlfriends (no offense) the story is good let's keep it above board and this may even be made into a movie. Remember me when you accept the Oscar for best .. (??????)

PS - Every picture tells a story by Rod Stewart (who wrote the lyrics) - are at this youtube spot.

Seeker posits: but I know Pye has taken a look at the particulars of her fleeting sensations, such as body and world, and believed them to be "more real" things that are independent of her experience.

A crack of nuance and light might break through your block-headed hearing some day.
"More real." Where the eff are you seeing this, Seeker, in anything I've said?

Pye, assigning it more reality means that you think it exists independent of experience, unlike imaginations.

Isn't this the point you were disagreeing with? That it's not simply a dream-like illusory experience, that the objective world we see is one that exists external from consciousness. That would make it "more real" than an imaginative experience.

Dennis you know I don't follow you well, if any notion concerning absolutely reality is simply metaphysical speculation, then also the concept that more than what is seen exists is only speculation.

What I want to know is: do you believe light is a physical phenomena causing us to see, and that our dreams are only based on that which we've seen previously?

Or, that the light is a phenomena of consciousness, and in the same way we see in a dream, we see while awake, light being nothing more than an imaginative experience?

This is sweating the small stuff so I can see where you are coming from, "don't deflect", I just want to know whether you think there is a wall behind you when you aren't looking, simple question, lot's of implications, your answer? This would really clear things up as to how far your taking this illusion/dream notion, I've obviously taken it the whole way, you say there is a middle ground, but I'm not grasping what you mean.

If you answer only using words like "conventional", "ultimate", "absolute", and don't at least answer those clear and relevant questions, you know I won't understand where your coming from.

"that everything in the world of our projections will always appear 'flat' and colorless when we see it 'spiritually' and 'essentially'. And that was what happened. I looked at all the objects of the world, the faces of the old ladies, their hands, the counter-tops, the walls painted in glossy white, the street and the trees along La Avenida Sexta, and everything was devoid of internal energy, or as if it was enveloped in a thin fog that blanched out the colors. And the Voice told me that was 'the key to perception of the illusory world of projected dreams'."

Thank God, what you were doing here was seeing without past association or familiarity, and it was because it is exactly like a dream, even tho you went on to say it wasn't, sadly you ventured back into normal-view-mode where you only view particulars and never see in that "outside" or "documentary style" viewpoint, if you were to stay in that viewpoint all day long, observing what you referred to as "flat", you would eventually see that all your thoughts are also flat, and that all you know of, have ever been exposed to, are these "flat" mysterious sensations.

And that all known existence, all human experience, is as shallow and flat as what you were seeing that morning, take that into account. I mean, you talked about that view as if it was a relatively new experience, why not give me the benefit of the doubt when I say that all I do with my life is look around from this alien perspective, and that the flatness is because existence is comprised of illusory and imaginative experience akin to a dream, just check it for yourself.

Also, why is everyone ripping into you so much? You should probably avoid mentioning anything related to women and little girls maybe.

"Brussels lace is well known for its delicacy and beauty. Originally it was only made from the finest spun linen thread, which was spun in dark damp rooms to keep the thread from becoming too brittle. Only one ray of light was allowed into the room, and it was arranged so that it fell upon the thread. This fine thread is part of what prevented mechanizing the process of making Brussels lace, as well as the production of it in other regions, as it could not be bought anywhere else. It was also what made the lace so costly. Brussels lace cost more than Mechlin lace, and was in high demand in England and France."
Easy to imagine that one ray of light falling on the somber work table.

I tend to attract projection. The most interesting material and energy, a bound energy I admit, attaches itself to those projections. Maybe we don't really make progress through the growth and extension of our 'conscious attitude' but more through what our 'unconscious position' releases? And therefor a projection, in combination with a certain amount of angry ('ripping') energy, is a first step toward relaxing that bound energy?

The ripping is explained thus, pay attention all Alexandrians! This waxing creature has made his home, or some attempt at such, in the old age of appearances, somewhat represented by the 19th century. This in response to a certain contempt and revulsion to the age of meaning, called modernity and somewhat represented by the 20th century. The age where meaning and its discourse, the dialectic of meaning churns on like machinery, with the postmodern fumes rising in the gray sky. Although he is being accused of being the foggy postmodern, this is not the case as the postmodern is still a creature of meaning, folding back the analyzing on the analysis. Not this reactionary creature, it prefers the surface of things, reflections and projections, a place one does not have to exist much if at all. It enjoys the Latin-American culture as a reservate for the past age of enlightenment, reminiscent of a time without the churning wheels of law and system, where art and thought, and desires still can run free at times.

Or in short, just a pretentious wonk lost out at sea and clinging to the lifeboat like the rest of us, afraid to take the dive.

No! NO! Diebert, see here:
  • "The Apocalypse of Seeker of Wisdom opens with the Talking Ass in the temple praising Seeker. While the Talking Ass was speaking, telling Seeker to be strong (with emphasis on spiritual authority and leadership, yet with shorter paragraphs and a little sleep every once in a while), Seeker sees a mob of pseudo-priests, puppy torturers, lady PhDs and others with stones who seem intent on assaulting him. The Talking Ass explains that these are blind, humorless people with sex issues. He tells Seeker to cover his eyes and see for himself. Told to do it a second time, Seeker then saw light, and in it the Talking Ass with the priests praising the Little Girl appearing in a glowing cloud as a manifestation of Kali. Seeker is made to understand that there are deaf and blind people and that he has to be careful about revealing things to the multitudes. He explains that some, who do not understand or have no knowledge, will blaspheme. Some will believe him when he speaks about the Talking Ass, but then later will fall away from their beliefs. The Immortal Ones who mingle with them become their prisoners! Clinging to the name of a Projected Image, thinking it will make them pure or whole or intelligent or worthy, the deaf and blind ones fall into error and become defiled. Seeker of Wisdom is assured that the blind will be judged and hacked to bits by the Flaming Sword wielded by a tripped-out Enoch. In the conclusion to the Apocalypse of Seeker, Talking Ass gives Seeker a pep talk and tells him that his enemies will not prevail. After that, Seeker of Wisdom 'awoke' from his vision, praised the Talking Ass effusively."

I AM the Veil of Intercession, glory to the sublime and absolute: Subhae-rabiil-'ahzim'. Or, that the light is a phenomena of consciousness, and in the same way we see in a dream, we see while awake, light being nothing more than an imaginative experience?
You have a blueprint.
You hammer the table with a blueprint.
Your Inquiry finishes on that blueprint.

Is your blueprint a phenomena of consciousness?
Obviously it is.
According to your logic it follows its nothing more than an imaginative experience.

Geddit?

possibility comes out of 'don't know'.

there's no possibility in a blueprint, that's why you are housebound attached to a bong.

Concepts being nothing more than an imaginative experience< is an imaginative experience, but it is only pointing out the knowledge of how ignorant we are and how all our concepts don't truly relate to ultimate reality. You deflected again, and then again showed how idiotic and child like you are trying to degrade the other person by talking about things you have no clue, and also not high again, not that it would matter.

Sometimes a moment taken to summarize can be helpful for all concerned. This is what I take away from the conversation so far:

You have a blueprint
and you hammer the blueprint to the table
you put finishing touches on the blueprint.

Is your blueprint pinned to the table
and is it producing phenomena?
it is blue, it is pinned, to the table.

According to your logic it all possibly comes out 'I don't know'
and I don't.

You are/we are housebound, attached to our bongs, geddit?
We're housebonged, housepinned somehow...

Blueprint attached to table, pinned,
consciousness, phenomena, me, you
pinned to a table talking tables,
talking consciousness, getting enrolled.

There's a possibility in a bong hit
that is why you are housebound, bonged
pinned like your blueprint to a table.

Bluetabled, fastbonged, factpinned, phenomenonned,
Gettin' gotten, straightup rebonged
I don't have to deal with your hallucination
that would be cRaZy...

Geddit?

You guys are idiots. This blueprint your talking about is: Sensations make up all known universe. < Fact

I haven't stated anything that's not a fact, I haven't assumed some external place apart from sensation like Alex may have, the only thing known is this. What else is there? Nothing, delusion, imaginative experience, you guys are idiots, Alex hasn't even yet had the earliest of realizations about his body not being a real thing and that it is not the cause of his consciousness(Another simple fact), that's like 8 year old philosopher, then Dennis has avoided answering the simplest of questions over and over because he knows he can't answer without either being wrong, or agreeing with me, hence he will never, not after 5 or 500 times, stop hiding his own opinions and answer the question.

Sensations make up all known universe. < Fact
Do sensations exist from their own side?

if they do, they have absolute existence.
if they don't they are nonsubstantial and have no real existence.

your thought experiments are empty.
all is empty.

We each walk the lonely road of samsara John, experiencing separation.
To recognise the illusory-like nature of it is the beginning.
There are causes/conditions for suffering and it is in that matter wisdom plays a role.
