history and computer games
I'm not a big gamer, but I used to like playing games like Quake and Theme Hospital when I was little. I never really liked Sims, it was too much on the ordinary and dreary side for me. I was wondering if people can not make more historical games where you can be historical characters like ones in revolutions where you have to try to control or stop the revolutions etc. I don't know if there are such games on the market right now. It could be fun to relive history, learn about it and try to see if you could solve its problems if you were in those situations. Most games only focus on the broader issues such as structuring villages, winning wars physically in battles, etc. I think more in-depth games would give people more of a feeling of what it would really be like to rule countries, what the deeper issues are and what the times were really like. Or would that bore most people?

There are limits because video games can only be so "real".
A newish game, Company of Heroes, does a great job of keeping as realistic as possible though only inasmuch as the names are correct, their functions are correct, and a guy with a pistol can't kill a tank.
I think Civilization is fairly unrealistic because 90% of the game is consumed with developers postulating what kind of tanks the Iroquois would have had if we didn't hand them smallpox blankets...
