Thanks. QED.
Your complete dismissal of women's strides in the last 40 years is no better.
My complete dismissal of their strides in the last 40 years is a figment of your imagination. I don't dismiss them at all, I simply put them into context, as I do men's strides in the same period.
Before you want to talk down to me, explain in a detailed post why I'm "wrong" about Weininger.
I sincerely believe that would be an astonishing waste of my time since you've already decided that his writings are just mundane sexism and misogyny. I mean, if you actually read Sex and Character and got that from it, nothing I say could possibly make any difference. Could it?

Weininger might have done his best to understand the male-female dichotomy and the nature of genius... I can't tell for sure what his motivations were. I just think he should have field-tested his theories rigorously to see if they held any basis in reality.

If he had done this, he would have had a leg to stand on and get more credibility from his peers.

Yes, credibility from peers can also be misguided but the hypothetic testing would have done much towards clearing up WEININGER'S OWN CONSCIOUSNESS AND MORALITY.

Maybe there are Harvard or MIT-students working on W's thesis right now?
That would be great, I think.

i would tread very carefully if i were you. having been a member of the icke forums for over 18 months i have come to realise that the site has a sinister agenda and is definitely an operation of some sort. of course there are people who use it who are rational and are up for open reasonable debate, but it is also full of misinfo spooks (many of them forum moderators) spreading nonsense designed to distract people, and just recently i have been banned for the crime of suggesting david icke's accountant must be a happy man knowing that ticket sales are going well for his forthcoming australian seminars. plus - why did the BBC take the time to promote him as a crank?? surely anyone else at the BBC who lost the plot would have just been sacked with a little cover story, but they put him on wogan - i wanted to believe the site could bring me some insight but im afraid ive now woken up a little further and realised that the elite gives us our heroes and messages.

David Icke does look very slightly crazy to me... in his eyes, in his sudden outbursts. But what I would really put most of his behaviour down to is a set of circumstances...

1/ David Icke decides to sidestep propaganda. Ok so far there is propaganda that needs to be sidestepped. He is on a new path, but not off the planet.

2/ Having stepped off the usual road, and onto a new road, he gets a feeling of elation, but also knows that he is right... and so far he is.

3/ But the elation is addictive. how far off the road can he step? Having confirmed his previous ideas using some areas of knowledge, he starts to step off the path a bit further. More confirmation, but the confirmation is starting to get cloudy. But in the area of propaganda there will always be cloudy areas, and you will slowly learn to ignore issues that do not agree with your own ideas.

4/ Deciding to take a total leap off the path Icke calls himself the Son Of God, and believes that some people are reptiles. Backed up now by people who have also found that there are facts hidden from the world, and with no way of knowing what is true, and what isn't there is no way to confirm anything anymore. Icke isn't mad exactly, but has totally confused himself at this point.

5/ Having stepped this far off the path on a public TV show has left Icke in defensive mode. Defensive thinking combined with not knowing what is true, and what isn't true is very close to madness. So similar in fact that he may never be able to step himself back onto the real path. He has to fight off chemical reactions that give him elation from feeling free of lies. He has to face the fact that not everything he has said is true, which is almost like admitting that he has been the TV screen that tells lies. It's catch 22, he has become the TV of lies which he was originally totally against in the first place.
